The Game Addresses 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, & Kim Kardashian On “72 Bar Assassin”

When it comes to rappers who simply do not give the slightest of damns, The Game is among the most notable figures that comes to mind. The legendary Compton emcee has continuously shared his every waking thought on wax for years now, be it drunkenly professing his love for mentor Dr. Dre or speaking on violent sexcapades with Kim Kardashian in an unreleased track. It’s no secret that name-dropping has become a staple part of Game’s toolkit, and it can’t be denied that the rapper hasn’t embraced it.

Today, Game once again stirred the pot with the release of a new song, the DJ Kay Slay-hosted “72 Bar Assassin.” If you happened to miss it, you can check it out for yourself right here. Those who did check it out likely found themselves bombarded with references, some flattering and others not so much.

Following Diddy’s inevitably eyebrow-raising declaration of Los Angeles kingship, Game made sure to offer up a few words in response.  “King of New York, King of L.A.,” he spits, a clear allusion to Puff’s recent claim. “And I don’t give a fuck what Diddy say, my semi spray.” Doubtless, Game doesn’t exactly appreciate the native New Yorker attempting to declare dominion over his sacred turf.

He also mentions his former rival 50 Cent, making it abundantly clear that while he is indeed open to the idea of a reconciliatory Verzuz, it won’t come on the cheap. “Puffin’ on a blunt of gas, just to talk about a Verzuz with 50 Tell Swizzy, ‘I need a hundred, cash’” he spits, before taking an even deeper stroll down memory lane.

“Can’t see me now, couldn’t see me with Young Buck and them,” he raps, circling back to his days on the G-Unit label. “Shoutout to Lloyd Banks, album go hard, n***a / Tell Curtis to give you one of them bulletproof cars / You supposed to do your squad like Yo Gotti do ’em/ Therefore it’s still the Unit long as I can still move ’em.”

It’s perhaps appropriate that he used the opportunity to address 50, as the song does share similarities to Fif’s own controversial “How To Rob.” Not nearly as conceptually driven, but certainly evocative in the sheer volume of high-profile names Games drags into the mix. It’s also interesting to see Game embracing his ties to G-Unit, reaching out to Lloyd Banks and making it clear he respects the Punchline King’s creativity. Though it’s likely the collaborative ship has sailed, it remains a nice display of closure to a long-running and oft-fractured hip-hop narrative.

And of course, it wouldn’t be a Game track without a messy line or two. Picking up where he left off on that notorious unreleased track left off, Game once again sets his sights on Kim Kardashian. “Might fuck Kim K on a Waverunner in Wave Runners,” he raps. “Throw it on the blogs, ain’t shit they can take from us / We both had the west on lock for 8 summers / I’m tryna bubble like the Gap this season.”

Clearly, Game is looking to make a statement on this one, taking no prisoners ahead of his upcoming 30-song album. For more where that came from, be sure to check out “72 Bar Assassin” below and voice your thoughts in the comments below.

Lil Gotit & Young Thug Stay Flossy In “Playa Chanel” Video

Lil Gotit dropped his fourth album, Top Chef Gotit this past week and played host to a slew of fellow featured artists from the A. Though there is Gunna and even Gotit’s brother Lil Keed who appear on the project, it’s hard to match the esteem of one Mr. Jeffery Williams.

Donning a purple ski mask and sleek Chanel frames, Gotit stands with under the rain with his umbrella, making sure nothing drips on his. Later, Thug shows up and makes his presence felt, sitting on a very lush couch surrounded by some models.

Top Chef Gotit boasts some genuine adrenaline and doesn’t disappoint. Meanwhile, many are still sitting patient in hopes of another solo Thugger project coming to fruition sooner than later. Though consistent collaborators in the past, it’s surprising to see that Gotit didn’t make an appearance on the latest YSL-compilation, Slime Language 2. Let us know what you think of their new video and if you’re looking forward to hearing these two collab again in the future.

Porsha Williams Celebrates 40th Birthday With Stunning Bikini Photos

On Tuesday, Porsha Williams celebrated her 40th birthday, and the Real Housewives of Atlanta star made sure that everyone was aware of her hitting the big 4-0. Taking to Instagram, the television personality, actress, and activist proved how good 40 looks on her by sharing a steamy thirst trap of her posing in a black bikini.

With a photo that honestly says it all, Porsha opts to keep her caption brief with the caption, “Hello 40… #BirthdayGirl.” See Porsha Williams showing off her awe-inspiring curves below.

Her infamous fiancé, Simon Guobadia, was clearly impressed by Porsha’s stunning flicks, as he commented, “Happy Birthday my love. Let’s get this party started.”

For those unfamiliar with the recently engaged couple, Guobadia is Porsha’s RHOA co-star and friend Falynn Guobadia’s ex-husband, and last month, Williams dropped the bombshell that she and Simon had spontaneously gotten engaged, adding to her growing list of controversies.

According to Page Six, Porsha Williams and Simon Guobadia are reportedly planning three wedding celebrations, even despite Guobadia’s ongoing divorce from Falynn. Regardless of the drama that seems to be harboring around them, Porsha and Simon appear to be happily in love and, for now, focused on celebrating the RHOA star’s 40th birthday.

Nia Long’s Fiancée Ime Udoka Hired To Be Celtics Head Coach & Twitter Is Excited

With Brad Stevens heading up to the front office and shipping Kemba Walker out in the blink of an eye, it was only right that he found a solid replacement for his inbounds play wizardry.

Ime Udoka, former Laker role player and Spurs assistant coach, has been promoted from being Steve Nash’s assistant on the Brooklyn Nets to leading the Celtics’ locker room. With young stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown presumably making his transition easier than most players could, there is still a lot to be said of what’s to come from the Celtics in this season-to-be.

While this is a big hire for the Celtics, social media truly couldn’t care less. They’re having a field day knowing that Head Coach Ime Udoka is in fact married to esteemed actress Nia Long.

While the city hasn’t seen the basketball luck they’re accustomed to over the past few years, at least they’ve got a couple of new reasons to be excited for next season. With two front office moves in the matter of a week, Stevens has his eyes set on pushing this team to a title from an angle he’s not as accustomed to.

DaBaby Has A Clothing Line On The Way With boohooMan

DaBaby has been running up the charts and delivering banger after banger non-stop over the past few years but the question is: what’s next for him? He’s a hustler with plans to expand the Billion Dollar Baby roster with budding talent. He’s previously hinted at the possibilities of retirement to fully focus on propelling his record label to new heights.

It seems that his latest career move is the launch of a brand new fashion line in partnership with boohooMAN. The rapper’s new line comes with socks, t-shirts, and more that are limited to 100 pieces each. Fans will have to work quickly to score some of the clothes that the rapper will be launching with boohooMan on June 30th.

“DaBaby is one of the hottest rappers out there right now. His style and music align perfectly with who we are as a brand – this collab is going to be BIG!” Samir Kamani, CEO of boohooMAN said. “I’m excited for the world to see what we have in store and to welcome DaBaby to the family!”

This isn’t the first time boohooMAN has worked with a rap act. In 2019, they teamed up with Quavo to launch a brand new collection with boohooMAN before teaming up with them again in April 2020 for their second launch.

Troy Ave Is Doing The Cha-Cha To The Bank On “Money Dance (1-2-3)”

Troy Ave has a certain way of stirring the pot when it comes to social media, as we’ve recently seen with the shots he fired at Casanova. Just weeks after dropping his diss track towards the “So Brooklyn” rapper, Troy Ave is ramping up his efforts for a hot summer ahead. Now, he’s come through with some new vibes to celebrate all of the successes he’s witnessed in recent times with his new single, “Money Dance (1-2-3).” Troy’s latest single offers some cha-cha vibes in a celebration of wealth and prosperity that’s suitable for being outside, finally.

The rapper hasn’t slacked this year, either. Troy came through at the top of the year with the release of his latest project, Kill Or Be Killed.

Check his new single below.

Quotable Lyrics

All my bill faces blue
And I blew a couple thousand on some pairs of shoes
So I’m big steppin’, n***as still won’t let me through

Cardi B Vehemently Disagreed With A Viral Post About Motherhood

Of all the things that Cardi B has accomplished — her seemingly endless stream of No. 1 hit singles (which now includes “Up,” her burgeoning film career (which will extend to the next few Fast and Furious films), and her many, many business partnerships — the one she seems the proudest of is being a mother to the soon-to-be three-year-old Kulture.

Motherhood is also one area in which she’s very outspoken and quick to clap back when criticized, whether it’s over her “raunchy” tweets or not letting her daughter listen to her music (the kid is, again, a toddler). However, Cardi was the person doing the criticizing a day ago, when she popped up in the comments of an Instagram post that aggregated a viral tweet.

The tweet in question read, “My daughter does not come before my husband,” a sentiment to which Cardi took issue. In the comments, she wrote, “And these be the b***** that god forbid they daughters get molested by their ‘husband’ ‘boyfriend’ they won’t believe them their kids, take their words and will hate their daughters cause of the truth and the men be knowing that and take advantage.” Another post highlighting Cardi’s response on gossip account @hollywoodunlocked received nearly 85,000 likes, with many of the commenters agreeing with Cardi. Broccoli City’s Comeback 2021 Festival Will Be Led By Lil Baby And Moneybagg Yo

Organizers of the Washington DC-based Broccoli City festival were forced to cancel their 2020 event, depriving them of the chance to follow their 2019 show that was led by Childish Gambino and Lil Wayne. They’re ready to return for 2021, though, as it was announced today that this year’s edition will take place on October 2 at the newly redeveloped RFK Stadium Campus.

The lineup for the one-day festival features Lil Baby, Snoh Aalegra, Moneybagg Yo, Lucky Daye, Rubi Rose, Justine Skye, Soulection, 3ohBlack, Moechella, DJ Domo, Malcolm Xavier, Everything Nice, AdoboDMV, and “special guests.”

In a statement, Broccoli City Festival founders Brandon McEachern and Marcus Allen said, “2020 was tough on everyone. From the disproportionate number of Black lives lost as a result of COVID-19 to the tragic murders of Breonna Taylor, George Floyd and countless others, it goes without saying that the Black community was hit the hardest. Coming off of such a pivotal year where everyone is trying to capitalize on Black culture, it’s more important now than ever before for us to protect these sacred spaces created by Black people to authentically celebrate black culture. We’re happy to be back and look forward to Broccoli City Festival 2021 being the most authentic celebration of black culture, arts, and music the industry has seen.”

Tickets are set to go on sale on June 25 at 10 a.m. ET, so learn more about this year’s event on the festival website.

Here Are The Early Sales Projections For H.E.R.’s “Back Of My Mind”

This year has been a huge one for H.E.R. Having taken home two trophies at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards and secured the Oscar for “Best Original Song” at the 93rd Academy Awards, this year was the perfect time for the acclaimed singer-songwriter to finally release her debut album, and thankfully, she did just that. Back of My Mind arrived last Friday, and the 21-track album featured star-studded collaborations with YG, Ty Dolla $ign, DJ Khaled, Chris Brown, Bryson Tiller, Cordae, Yung Bleu, and Lil Baby.

Days after the release of Back of My Mind, there’s apparently even more good news heading H.E.R.’s way.

According to DJ Akademiks, early sales projections reveal that H.E.R.’s long-awaited debut album will move approximately 34,000 album-equivalent units in its first week.

At first glance, H.E.R.’s tentative first-week sales may not look like much compared to the mega releases as of late, but the projections actually represent significant commercial growth for the Grammy-winning artist. The singer-songwriter’s last project, I Used to Know Her, moved just 8,700 album-equivalent units, so if H.E.R.’s current sales projections hold, she will quadruple the first-week sales of her previous effort.

What’s even more exciting is that her early album sales and streams have her fighting for the sixth spot on the Billboard 200, which would mark her highest placement on the chart to date.

While we await the official first-week figures for H.E.R.’s debut album Back of My Mind, check out one of the album’s most popular singles, “Come Through” with Chris Brown.
