Best-Selling Author Logic Has A New Memoir, ‘This Bright Future,’ Coming Out This Year

Around this time in 2019, Logic pulled off something no rapper before him had ever done: He became the first rapper to ever land a novel (Supermarket) on top of a New York Times Best Sellers list. Now he’s adding to his bibliography with another new book, but this time, it’s a memoir.

The book is titled This Bright Future and it’s set for release on September 7. He wrote of the book on social media, “This is the story of everything I’ve gone through and it’s been a beautiful and difficult journey to relive. There’s honestly so much that I’ve never been able to express in my music and the interviews that followed. I’m so happy and proud to finally give my fans and the rest of the world my entire story. The way I never could with my music!”

The official site for the book offers a lengthier description:

This Bright Future is a raw and unfiltered journey into the life and mind of Bobby Hall, who emerged from the wreckage of a horrifically abusive childhood to become an era-defining artist of our tumultuous age.

A self-described orphan with parents, Bobby Hall began life as Sir Robert Bryson Hall II, the only child of an alcoholic, mentally ill mother on welfare and an absent, crack-addicted father. After enduring seventeen years of abuse and neglect, Bobby ran away from home and — with nothing more than a discarded laptop and a ninth-grade education — he found his voice in the world of hip-hop and a new home in a place he never expected: the untamed and uncharted wilderness of the social media age.

In the message boards and livestreams of this brave new world, Bobby became Logic, transforming a childhood of violence, anger, and trauma into music that spread a resilient message of peace, love, and positivity. His songs would touch the lives of millions, taking him to dizzying heights of success, where the wounds of his childhood and the perils of Internet fame would nearly be his undoing.

A landmark achievement in an already remarkable career, This Bright Future looks back on Bobby’s extraordinary life with lacerating humor and fearless honesty. Heart-wrenching yet ultimately uplifting, this book completes the incredible true story and transformation of a human being who, against all odds, refused to be broken.”

As the album nears a #1 debut next week, it has been reported that it ended up breaking Spotify’s single-day streaming record for this year, clocking an astounding 62 million streams.

Soulja Boy Explains Why He’s Always Going At Drake

There are a few things that Soulja Boy will go down for in the history books but his screeching “DRAAAAKE?!” call-out on the Breakfast Club has been cemented in the pantheon of great viral internet antics. The two have collaborated in the past but it seems like whenever Soulja is back in the headlines, there’s a concerted effort to drag Drake into his shenanigans.

HNHH recently chopped it up with Big Draco who explained that Bow Wow has forever had his back, even after calling out  Drake, again.

“My peers give me my credit, man,” he said. “That’s my boy in real life, you know what I’m sayin’? I’m gonna say it like this — I just have fun. People know — look, shout out to all them folks but they know what’s up. I’m the one, you know what I’m sayin’? I’m the one. C’mon man. I’m the one. It need be to Soulja. Soulja this, Soulja that.”

When it came down to calling out Drake specifically, Soulja explained that it was all in good fun, adding that there wasn’t “any pressure.”

“I was just poking a little fun. Having a little fun, like, ‘C’mon, man. You know what’s going on Drake. Stop playing with me, boy.’ But it’s all love. Shout out to Drake and to Bow Wow.”

Brazilian Rapper MC Kevin Falls To Death From Hotel Balcony

MC Kevin, a 23-year-old rapper from Brazil, has passed away after falling from a hotel’s fifth-floor balcony. According to testimonials, the artist was reportedly attempting to avoid his wife so she wouldn’t catch him having a threesome with another woman and his friend.

The news was reported by Brazilian newspaper Extra Globo, which was later translated by the Daily Mail. MC Kevin fell from a Rio de Janeiro hotel’s balcony as he reportedly tried to jump onto a lower balcony. He was found near the hotel’s swimming pool. Police have reportedly taken the phones of model Bianca Domingues and Kevin’s friend Victor Elias Fontenelle, who were both reportedly inside the hotel room at the time of the incident. The three are said to have “maintained sexual relations” before Kevin jumped from the balcony in fear of his wife finding them. He was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead when he arrived.

The rapper married his wife, Deolane Bezerra, just a few weeks ago. She mourned in a post on Monday, saying, “You left and took a piece of me with you. You were always so incredible… It’s not fair for you to leave like this. It’s not. It’s not.”

We will keep you updated with all the latest information in this story. Rest in peace, MC Kevin. We’re sending our love and condolences to his family and loved ones.

Cuban Doll Refuses To Pay Her Taxes: “I’ll Sit In Jail”

We wouldn’t be surprised if the IRS slid into Cuban Doll’s DMs because the rapper just revealed that she has no intention of paying her taxes this year

Nobody likes filing their taxes. It’s a pretty mind-numbing task that we need to complete annually though. Rapper Cuban Doll is fed up with having to fill out so many forms just to hand over her hard-earned money to the government, so she’s decided that she’s just going to skip out on her taxes this year– or so she says.

The 23-year-old rapper took to Twitter to reveal that she would rather be jailed than pay her taxes this year. “Paying taxes ain’t for me,” she allegedly tweeted this week. “I’ll sit in jail f*ck y’all.”

Many of the people commenting on her post are predicting that she actually will be jailed after making such a revelation publicly. Generally, you wouldn’t want to announce that you’re planning on skipping your taxes on social media, where the feds can easily see what you’re posting.

In related news, Ja Rule was recently named in a lawsuit accusing him of skipping out on over $3 million in taxes. It seems as though Cuban Doll is taking a page out of his book.

Ari Lennox’s Steamy New Photo Has The Internet Fighting Over Her

Singer Ari Lennox has been dedicating her extra time during the pandemic year to cleaning up her lifestyle, something she has shared with her followers heavily on her Instagram. She was already known for being a confident queen before focusing on her health, so losing weight as part of the process, is only making her stronger in that department.

And, as time goes on, Lennox has been slowly but surely been getting more comfortable with posting spicy content, as she rebrands a bit, and shows off her new look. That being said, she stunned the world on Wednesday morning when she posted photos on Instagram rocking a grey Christian Dior bikini while sitting poolside.

Ari set the mood with a short and to-the-point caption: “All Night Long – SWV,” leaving the world to fill in the gaps themselves, mainly by way of their impressed reactions. These reactions were not relegated to Instagram, but across the web– most notably, Twitter had a lot to say about this particular post.

While some people are in awe of Lennox and genuinely admire how incredible she looks…

Others can’t help but talk about how it feels as though she’s only getting this much praise right now because she lost weight. This led to a few people pointing out that it’s messed up that women don’t get treated well unless they look a certain way, even if they also looked fine before making an effort to change their physical appearance.

Either way, the glow-up is real, clearly. Outdated beauty standards aside, Ari deserves all the praise in the world for all the hard work she put into her body to look this good.

Check out Ari serving up the confidence we all need here.
