Nick Offerman Says His “Parks & Rec” Character Would “Get The Damn Vaccine”

Parks and Recreation star Nick Offerman says he iconic character, Ron Swanson, a stringent libertarian, would get the COVID-19 vaccine because “he’s a good guy” at the end of the day. Offerman spoke about getting the vaccine on The Medi Hasan Show, Sunday.

“Ron, I think at first would, of course, scoff at a vaccine, and say, ‘I’ve never been to the doctor. I rely on my preternatural immune system to protect me.’ But then his wife, Diane, played by the great Lucy Lawless, would step up and say, ‘Hey, buddy, you’re no longer alone here. You got me, I teach at a school, we got kids to worry about. Your responsibilities are no longer limited to your own body.’

“So, once he was convinced of that, he’s a good guy. And once a good guy sees that he’s taking care of others and that it’s for the common good, of course, he would get the damn vaccine.”

Rolling Loud & EMPIRE Announce “Got Bars?” Competition Winner

Rolling Loud has officially closed the books on their Got Bars? competition, which has finally concluded after an eight-month run on their Twitch channel. On May 21st, the final three went head to head in front of a panel of judges — EMPIRE’s COO Nima Etminan, EMPIRE A&Rs Bobby Fisher and Mark Buol, and Rolling Loud Co-Founder Tariq Cherif — before one winner was ultimately decided.

Taking the crown was Brooklyn emcee Dupree G.O.D, who secured himself a distribution deal with EMPIRE, a paid slot at a future Rolling Loud Festival, sponsorship support from Monster Energy, and the backing of Miami radio channel 99 Jamz.

“I came into this competition with something to prove, not only to myself but to everyone around,” stated Dupree, after taking home the big victory. This win is a precious moment and opportunity that I will not take for granted. Thank you Rolling Loud, Monster, and EMPIRE records.”

Cherif, the co-founder of Rolling Loud, also shared a few words about Dupree in a press release. “Rolling Loud has always been committed to supporting up-and-coming artists, it’s part of our DNA,” he states. “They’re vital to keeping the culture alive and well, which is why we started Got Bars. We searched far and wide for rappers that have what it takes to make it in today’s musical landscape, and we believe our judges found a gem in Dupree G.O.D. He’s a wildly entertaining MC with star potential who stands a real chance to make it in this game. We’re really excited to see where he goes from here!”

A New Yorker through and through, Dupree draws influence from different generations of Big Apple artistry, with Nas being his favorite rapper and Pro Era’s Powers Pleasant holding it down as his favorite producer. Don’t be surprised to see more from Dupree G.O.D. in the near future, especially now that he’s got EMPIRE backing him.

Gucci Mane Introduces The New 1017 Signee

Gucci Mane’s 1017 label has been on a tear of late, with signees Pooh Shiesty, Foogiano, and Big Scarr steadily delivering quality music. In Shiesty’s case, his recent Sheisty Season mixtape helped catapult him into mainstream stardom, with the Lil Durk-assisted “Back In Blood” standing out as one of the year’s definitive cut.

While a less ambitious mogul might have decided to ease off the gas for a moment, Gucci Mane is instead looking to double down and solidify his reign. Over the weekend, Big Guwop has come through to introduce the label’s new signee — Mississippi rapper BigWalkDog. “I just signed the hardest young ni*ga in Mississippi all my supporters welcome him and follow him now @bigwalkdog1,” captions Gucci, sharing a slip of the moment BigWalkDog received his official 1017 chain.

Keyshia Ka’oir also welcomed him to the label, while Timbaland appeared particularly enthused about the news; perhaps we’ll see Timbo reaching out to work with BigWalkDog in the future.

Deshaun Watson To Skip Texans’ OTAs, Still Plans On Being Traded

Deshaun Watson will not attend the Houston Texans’ organized team activities, which are scheduled to commence, Monday, and be held for the following three weeks. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports that Watson is still hoping to be trading from the organization despite pending lawsuits from dozens of women for sexual misconduct.

“#Texans star QB Deshaun Watson won’t attend OTAs and still wants to be traded, per sources,” Pelissero wrote Monday. “Watson has denied wrongdoing related to recent lawsuits, which have slowed the process of sorting out his future. But his position hasn’t changed: Watson wants out of Houston.”

In the wake of Watson’s unclear future, the Texans drafted Stanford quarterback Davis Mills in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft, this offseason.

There are important steps that we will be taking as part of out personal conduct policy. When we get to that point we will certainly make a decision.”

Asian Doll Is Now Being Managed By Polo G’s Mom

The career of Asian Doll has been at a standstill over the past few years. She inked a deal with Gucci Mane’s 1017 imprint that didn’t go as planned and in the past few years, she became more of a trending topic due to antics rather than music. However, it looks like she’s planning on changing that in the near future now that she’s enlisted a brand new manager with a familiar client.
