Tristan Thompson Wins $50,000 In Libel Lawsuit Against Kimberly Alexander

Boston Celtics star Tristan Thompson was awarded a $50,000 default judgment in his libel lawsuit against Kimberly Alexander, this week. Alexander has claimed that Thompson is the father of her child, despite Thompson taking a paternity test in May 2020 that came back negative.

Thompson filed the lawsuit shortly after he received the results from the paternity test.

In total Alexander was ordered to pay $50,000 in general damages and $2,901.95 to cover costs.

Thompson’s attorney Marty Singer explained in court documents obtained by Page Six that, despite the negative test results, Alexander “has persisted in publicly proclaiming that Thompson is her child’s father and she has maliciously accused Thompson of being a deadbeat dad, ‘neglecting’ and failing to take financial responsibility for the child since birth.”

“To quote Michael Jackson,” Singer’s filing added, “‘the kid is not [his] son.’”

Thompson’s ex-girlfriend Khloé Kardashian sent Alexander a cease-and-desist, earlier this month, for allegedly faking DMs. The letter, also obtained by Page Six, claimed she “continued to make outrageous defamatory smears about Khloé, harassing her and trying to drag her into the paternity drama that you have persisted in contriving notwithstanding that a DNA test from one of the nation’s top labs confirmed that Mr. Thompson is not the father of your child.”

Benny The Butcher & Fabolous Are Cooking Up

Benny The Butcher is the exact sort of lyricist that commands respect, to the point where he’s already found himself breaking bread with the legendary JAY-Z on several occasions. On wax, he consistently sets the bar as a formidable competitor, and anyone looking to trade bars would be wise to come prepared with their A-Game.

As it happens, The Butcher was recently putting in work in the studio, where he was joined by none other than Fabolous. Another rapper known for hard-hitting punchlines and elevated lyricism, Fab has proven time and again that he can go toe-to-toe with the game’s most formidable spitters, a consistent risk to walk away with the scene-stealing verse.

Now, he’s destined to spit bars with The Butcher, and fans are eager to see how the pair inspire one another in the booth. “This shit with me & @myfabolouslife sound like church music for hustlers,” teases Benny, sharing a snapshot from their recent studio session.

While Benny has not yet confirmed any details about his next project — after all, he only recently delivered The Plugs I Met 2 — it wouldn’t be surprising to see the prolific BSF emcee drop off another album before the end of the year. There’s also the chance that this collaboration is meant for Fab’s next project, his first since Summertime Shootout 3 dropped at the end of 2019.

Check out Benny’s exciting post below, and sound off if you’re excited to see him and Fab’s upcoming collaboration come to life.

High School Basketball Team Caught Throwing Tortillas At Hispanic Competitors

This past weekend, a gross display of racism ruined what was an extremely close and exciting game of high school basketball. Southern California schools Coronado High School and Orange Glen High School faced off on Saturday night, and after Coronado managed to seal the game with a three-point lead, things took a turn for the worse. According to the HuffPost, tortillas were tossed toward the Orange Glen athletes at the conclusion of the game, which is extremely alarming considering that Orange Glen High School’s basketball team has a predominantly Hispanic roster.

Lizardo Reynoso, the assistant coach at Orange Glen, has reportedly called the situation “disturbing.”

The racist incident occurred as Orange Glen players shook off the tough defeat and started walking over to the Coronado players for the traditional post-game handshake, and according to Assistant Coach Reynoso, it was a huge “slap in the face.”

The school’s superintendent, Karl Mueller, has already released the following statement: “Swift action will be taken to address all those involved, and they will be held accountable. It is our hope to create opportunities to dialogue with the Orange Glen Community in an attempt to repair.”

Stay tuned to see what repercussions Coronado High School will have to face following the troubling incident.

Mike WiLL Made-It had some advice for young artists on Instagram, Thursday, stressing the importance of studying music from different genres and eras.

“FUN FACT: WE MIGHT SIT IN THE LAB FOR HOURS LISTENING TO DIFFERENT SONGS FROM DIFFERENT GENRES & DIFFERENT TIME PERIODS,” he captioned a short video of himself listening to “Juicy” by The Notorious B.I.G. “WHATS UR FAVORITE SONG OF ALL TIME? THIS WHAT U CALL A STUDYO SESSION…”

He added: “#doyourhomeworkeducateyourself.”

It’s unclear what Mike WiLL was in the studio working on while he recorded the video, but he is fresh off of the release of Gucci Mane’s new track, “Posse On Bouldercrest,” which he produced. The song features Sir Mix-A-Lot and Pooh Shiesty. Gucci Mane’s new album, Ice Daddy, released last Friday.

Earlier this month, Mike WiLL gifted his frequent collaborator, Swae Lee, a Louis Vuitton trunk filled with cash. The elaborate gift was in honor of Lee’s 28th birthday celebration in Miami.

“Aye, my brother man Mike Will got me a treasure chest, the Louis treasure chest with the spare change,” Lee said in a post showcasing the gift. “That sh*t hard.”

The ‘NOBODY’ 4K Ultra HD Is Everything You Want It To Be

I’ll be the first to admit it – I am 100 percent about the digital wave. Let’s be honest – life is only getting easier with non-physical items. Heck, look at the popularity of NFTs in 2021 and even the next-generation gaming consoles have embraced providing a digital-only version in contrast to their disc-ready units. […]

Tory Lanez Involved In Car Accident, Suggests Foul Play

Tory Lanez was recently involved in a car crash earlier this morning. The divisive Canadian rapper took to Instagram to share footage of the aftermath, showcasing a pair of wrecked vehicles. One of them happened to be an Uber he was riding in, which suffered extreme damage.

While filming, Tory can be heard saying “n***as almost just died, we got in a car accident in a fucking Uber. Oh my gosh, bro.” Though he doesn’t say much, it’s clear from his cadence that the incident left him shaken. Luckily, the rapper appeared to be unharmed.

Though details surrounding the crash are as-of-yet unclear, Tory later took to Twitter to reflect on the circumstances — insinuating that a more nefarious conspiracy was perhaps afoot. “Strange,” he notes. “It almost felt like someone knew to crash into us.” A heavy allegation, and one that insinuates that his enemies are actively looking to do him harm. In his report on the accident, Akademiks echoed Tory’s suspicions, noting that “they tried to take out #torylanez.”

It didn’t take long before many fans began speculating on who might have orchestrated such a plan, with many encouraging Tory to consider moving more cautiously in the future. Check out video from the aftermath of the accident, as well as Tory’s follow-up tweets, below.

Migos Answer Fan Questions On “CONNECTED With Wayno”

Since joining the cast of Everyday Struggle, Wayno has become one of Hip-Hop’s respected cultural commentators, and as a result, he has earned his own solo Twitch show with Amazon Music, titled CONNECTED with Wayno.

For the latest episode of his Twitch show, Wayno brought Migos onto the show, fresh off the release of the deluxe version of Culture III. Unfortunately, Takeoff is not present, but Quavo and Offset still put on for the Migos in his absence. During the first half of their interview, Migos talk about the new album, what their mindset was like in the transition period between Culture II and Culture III, and their song selection process. The final stretch of the interview is where things get a bit more interesting, however, as Quavo and Offset answer live fan questions about the Migos.

Selected at random by Wayno, the fan questions posed by the live viewers were all over the place, with some yielding obvious answers and others prompting intriguing responses from the Migos rappers. After one fan asks if Migos will start adding more Offset choreography in their videos, Offset hilariously recounts the viral video of him dancing in Whitney Houston’s “Whatchulookinat” music video as a child, saying, “I been a legend. That was the birth of a legend right there, you know what I’m saying? It wasn’t something I bragged about. I just let y’all find that out ’cause it was destined.”

Another interesting tidbit arises when a fan asks them, “Who is your biggest inspiration?” Rather than rattling off a list of influential rappers, however, Offset offers the definitive answer and offers insight into a recurring motif throughout their album covers, saying, “Our mommas. That’s why we always shout them out. Our family members, our grandmamas. That’s why you see them doves. That’s grandma on them album covers.”

Quavo and Offset also talk about who would win in a one-on-one basketball game between Quavo and Drake, wanting to work with Rihanna, and several other topics, so check out Migos’ interview with Wayno here. The Atlanta Hip-Hop group pops up around the 21-minute mark.

Big Daddy Kane Confirms Eminem & JAY-Z For Netflix Doc

For any emcee over the age of 40, it’s likely that Big Daddy Kane is among their key formative influences. Easily one of the forefathers of hip-hop, the dexterous spitter has come to encapsulate the archetype of “your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper.” Alongside fellow lyricists like KRS One and Rakim, Kane paved the way for those that followed in his footsteps — including Eminem, JAY-Z, and Common.

In case you missed it, Kane has been actively working on an upcoming Netflix documentary titled Paragraphs I Manifest, and according to a recent report by HipHopDX, there are going to be a few high-profile guests on board. Speaking with the publication, Kane confirmed that Em, JAY, Common, and more will be appearing in the film. “I got JAY-Z, Eminem, KRS-One, Doug E. Fresh,” he confirmed. “I even got some of the battle rappers like Goodz Da Animal and Aye Verb, so it’s coming out real good. I’m supposed to do Common.”

Evidently, Kane succeeded in his goal of securing a Common interview; he later posted a picture of their link-up on his Instagram page, as he once did following his meetings with Em and Hov. It should be noted that after Kane connected with Slim Shady, many speculated that the pair were in the midst of recording a collaboration. Alas, that does not appear to be the case, though it should certainly be interesting hearing the pair in conversation.

According to Kane’s recent post with Common, the project is nearing completion. “We almost done,” he confirms. Keep an eye out for an official release date whenever it ends up surfacing. Are you excited to see Big Daddy Kane’s upcoming documentary?
