Rubi Rose Thinks Rappers Are “Habitual Cheaters”

She recently received a public apology from her ex DDG and now Rubi Rose is speaking about why she isn’t enthusiastic about dating someone in the entertainment industry. Rubi is among the several artists included in this year’s XXL Freshman class, and despite the hate she has received from certain social media users, the rapper’s star has continued to shine. Rose has been steadfast in trying to prove her naysayers wrong, but as her career has progressed, her love life has also been a topic of discussion.

Rubi and DDG’s romance has been a staple of controversy and while it seems to be over, he recently took a jab at her online. He later followed up with an apology and when Rubi visited 99Jamz, Supa Cindy wanted to know what she’s learned from her past relationships.

“Keep it off the internet,” she said before repeating herself. “Moving forward, I’m going to do so.” Cindy wanted to know if Rubi would date another person in the industry. “I wanna say no, ’cause mostly like rappers and n*ggas in this industry are just habitual cheaters, but it’s like, it’s hard to meet people outside of this industry because I don’t be out… Other people don’t understand the lifestyle.”

Rappers have had notorious reputations for infidelities and some people believe when you’re dating an artist, it comes with the territory. Check out the clip of Rubi’s interview below.

Michael Jai White Discusses His Son Dying From COVID-19 Months Ago

The Delta variant of COVID-19 is ravaging communities and it’s reported that over 21,000 new cases of the virus have been confirmed in Florida alone, but it’s the summer so people aren’t giving up their festivals and vacations. There are still arguments between anti-vaxxers and those who have received the COVID-19 vaccine, and altercations over wearing masks continue to take over social media timelines. Actor Michael Jai White recently revealed that his family suffered a tragedy in the pandemic after his 38-year-old son passed away from COVID-19 just a few months ago.

During an interview with VladTV, the actor asked about how many children he had from previous relationships before his wife. He had to take a moment to think about it because he doesn’t see his children as being separate just because they come from different mothers. As Vlad attempted to tally up the total, the actor told him that they needed to “subtract one” following the death of his son.

White revealed he was just 15-years-old when his son, his eldest child, was born. “Unfortunately, the street element was still part of his life growing up,” said White. “He was in the hospital for a while so it wasn’t immediate. Unfortunately, he was still kinda out there in the streets hustling, wasn’t doing well, started getting on substances. He’d come out, go back in, all that type of stuff.”

The actor said he did what he could for his son but “ultimately, it’s up to that person, especially if it’s a grown person.” The street life was “his thing” and said when his son got sick and was admitted to the hospital, “COVID was waiting for him… That was the knockout blow.” The substance abuse reportedly made his “system compromised” and while his death was tragic, he left behind six children.

DaBaby Criticism Continues Following Controversy & The Internet Isn’t Sympathetic

We may be entering a new week, but the conversations about DaBaby’s repeated controversial comments have followed. The world has borne witness to the North Carolina’s recent scandal that launched due to his homophobic remarks at Rolling Loud Miami and continued with his subsequent apologies. He made remarks about his gay fans not having HIV/AIDS because they aren’t “junkies” and later, defended himself by stating that his soul isn’t for sale and he should have the “freedom” to express his opinions just like anyone else.

After confidently declaring his “icon” status and suggesting that he was unmoved by the criticisms and “Cancel Culture,” DaBaby’s antics caused him to be axed from festivals including the Governor’s Ball New York, Lollapalooza, and Day N Vegas. DaBaby returned with an apology where he suggested he should have been met with “education” rather than cancelation.

“I appreciate the many people who came to me with kindness, who reached out to me privately to offer wisdom, education, and resources,” the rapper wrote. “That’s what I needed and it was received. I want to apologize to the LGBTQ+ community for the hurtful and triggering comments I made. Again, I apologize for my misinformed comments about HIV/AIDS and I know education on this is important. Love to all. God bless.”

The public hasn’t been so forgiving. Those who stood by DaBaby throughout the controversy have remained steadfast, but this latest apology has further agitated his detractors. Some believe that he’s only issuing a statement of regret because of his consequences while others have brought up his past scandals. Some of his supporters, like Boosie Badazz, have issued attacks against the LGBTQIA+ community as many are just reay for the controversy to end.

Aaliyah Was Unconscious Before Boarding Fatal Flight, Took Sleeping Pill: Report

In just a few weeks, we’ll be marking 20 years since Aaliyah passed away. The beloved singer was just 22-years-old with a career that hadn’t even peaked yet when she, along with several others, died in a plane crash as they departed the Bahamas. A new biography about the singer by Kathy Iandoli titled Baby Girl: Better Known as Aaliyah chronicles Aaliyah’s life and in it, an alleged witness of her final moments claims she didn’t want to board the flight.

Kingsley Russell was 13 when his family was running a taxi company on the islands and claims it was his mother who drove Aaliyah to the airport. The singer had just finished filming the music video for her hit track “Rock The Boat” and everyone was excited to make the flight back to Miami.

“They took her out of the van; she didn’t even know she was getting boarded on a plane,” Russell stated.“She went on the airplane asleep.” Aaliyah was reportedly uncomfortable after learning that the plane had exceeded its weight limit and was already anxious about flying. When she arrived and saw how small the aircraft was, it caused greater concern.

Russell added that to ease her fears, Aaliyah was allegedly given a sleeping pill and by the time they boarded the flight, Aaliyah was being carried onto the plane because she’d already fallen asleep. Not long after takeoff, the plane crashed near the end of the runway, killing all eight passengers and the pilot. It was later determined that the plane was overweight by hundreds of pounds and the pilot was under the influence of alcohol and cocaine and had reportedly faked his pilot’s license.

Baby Girl: Better Known as Aaliyah is slated to arrive on August 17. Pre-orders are available now.

Blac Chyna Claims Tyga “Loves Trans,” Gets Slammed For “Outing” Him

They seemed to be exes who were happily, and privately, co-parenting, but Blac Chyna put Tyga’s sex life on display with a few tweets. Over the weekend, Sada Baby fired off a tweet that quickly went viral about two entertainers who were rumored to have had some sort of sexual or romantic contact with transwomen.

“Tyga really was f*ckin a tr*nny n the world just blew past that [crying laughin emojis] Dwight Howard too [balling crying emoji].”

Back in 2015, 29-year-old transgender model Mia Isabella was reportedly the recipient of photos that were alleged to be of the rapper’s genitals. A scandal soon followed, but like many other social media moments, the controversy passed. Back in 2018, Howard faced allegations as well, with an accuser claiming that they faced threats from the basketball icon after an alleged encounter.

Blac Chyna, Tyga’s ex and the mother to their son King, added her voice to the conversation by tweeting, “Tyga loves Trans , me 2 [red lips emoji.” She followed it up with, “Tell the truth @Tyga !!!!!” Some people criticized Blac Chyna for airing out Tyga’s alleged business and mentioned that people weren’t as concerned when Tyga, who was in his twenties, began dating a 16-year-old Kylie Jenner all those years ago.

The Weeknd Catches Heat For Saying He’s “Sober Lite” & Doesn’t Do Hard Drugs Anymore

Some of our favorite entertainers are making big moves in 2021 and it looks as if The Weeknd is next in line. The chart-topping singer has been dominating with each new release and recently, he hinted that his next wave is at its launch. The Weeknd appeared on the cover of GQ magazine’s first-ever global issue and while there were several takeaways from his interview, a brief mention about his sobriety has captured attention.

He mentioned that he still consumes alcohol but not as much as he used to. “The romance of drinking isn’t there,” Weeknd added, before confirming that he still smokes marijuana. However, all other drugs have been eliminated.

“No. Drugs were a crutch. It was me thinking that I needed it. And not doing the work to figure out how not to need it, said the singer. “And I’ve spent the last few years realizing that and thanking God that I don’t need it. Because for a lot of people, it’s hard to shake it. But I knew I didn’t want it.” Demi Lovato also made similar remarks about being “California sober,” suggesting that she smokes and drinks, but only in moderation.

The remarks didn’t go unnoticed on Ken Seeley from the long-running series Intervention that has helped everyday addicts become sober since 2005. “They have millions and millions of followers and they’re out there promoting this new sobriety and it could be really harmful,” said Seeley. “It could kill a lot of people because if you’re an addict like me, there is no ‘sober lite,’ there is no ‘California sober.’ The minute I put a mind-altering substance in my system, I’m off and running.”

He added that he tried alternative sobriety methods 35 years ago. “I tried to smoke pot and I was off my drug of choice, and within months I back on my drug of choice, crystal meth.” Seeley believes that these comments “take away the chance for people to get real sobriety.” Check it out below.

Jemele Hill Believes Tupac & Biggie Will Eventually Be Edged Out Of “Top 5” Talks

We are already aware that “Top 5” lists in Hip Hop can cause people to get all in their feelings. There isn’t anything wrong with debating who your favorite artists may be, but some fans of Rap can become downright vicious defending artists who they see as top tier. According to Jemele Hill, fans need to recognize that artists are evolving and a new generation is rising, so some of our favorites should, eventually, get booted out of “Top 5” conversations.

“The thing about Hip Hop, which is interesting, is it’s multi-generational now,” said Hill. “And see, it wasn’t that way before.”

“That’s why like, I feel like in sports, I feel like this about Top Fives with basketball, the Top Five has gotta change,” she continued. “It can’t be the same one rooted forever ’cause we’re seeing different shifts all the time.” She added that in the Hip Hop community, fans can be “so much more emotional” about their favorites.

I love Tupac, I love Biggie, but they gon’ have to move out the Top Five ’cause there’s new sh*t that we’re seeing. People have gotten better!” Late Rap icons Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. were murdered within a year of one another back in the 1990s and since their deaths, they’ve been hailed as two of the greatest rappers of all time.

They remain cemented in “Top 5” conversations, but do you believe it is time they get shifted out for the new generation of artists?
