Van Lathan Shares His Thoughts On Festivals Cancelling DaBaby
DaBaby might have taken a dramatic hit to his career these past couple of weeks after making homophobic and inaccurate comments about people living with HIV and AIDS. After doubling down on his opinion and choice words, several festivals and high-profile events have dropped the NC rapper from performing at their show. DaBaby has since tried to apologize for his comments, but it’s a little too late. As of today, there’s been at least six festivals who have cancelled DaBaby’s performance on their lineup, ultimately costing him a lot of money in the process.

Well following the pushback from fans, former TMZ personality Van Lathan is now sharing his thoughts on the matter, saying these festivals are big corporations who care about the money. He also added that the black community needs to set standards for each other and stick to them like the LGBQT community does for one another. He ended the length opinion by saying “stop backflipping to excuse bad behavior. It just stunts growth”
“If you don’t like violent rap or trap then stop listening to it. But don’t conflate issues,” he captioned the post. Read Van Lathan’s thoughts on it all below:

Young Nudy Introduces His Gun-Toting Alter Ego On “Rich Shooter”
If he was following the music industry’s standard album rollout procedure, Young Nudy would be kicking back and relaxing right now following the release of his critically acclaimed album DR. EV4L in May. At most, he would be prepping two to eight songs for a potential DR. EV4L deluxe. However, Young Nudy isn’t like most artists, and he is perfectly content with embarking on his own unique path to success.
Today, less than three months after dropping an album named after his villainous alter ego, the Atlanta rapper returns with a stacked 20-track project titled Rich Shooter. Listeners can expect plenty of production courtesy of Pi’erre Bourne and Coupe, and they can also look forward to guest appearances from Future, Gucci Mane, 2FeetBino, 21 Lil Harold, 4l Quan, Cristo4L, and Peewee Longway.
Rich Shooter arrives two days before Young Nudy embarks on his highly anticipated DR. EV4L vs Rich Shooter Tour, so if you’ve been feeling Nudy’s scorching run this year, you should definitely see him and his two alter egos live if you have the opportunity.

6ix9ine Demands Wack100 Sets Up 1-On-1 Fight With Lil Durk
If there’s one person who has played a significant role in keeping Tekashi 6ix9ine relevant in hip-hop media, it’s DJ Akademiks. Now, we all know that the two have a tight-knit relationship, even if Ak has stated that he’s impartial in 6ix9ine’s feuds. A few weeks ago, he revealed that he had mediated a conversation between Tekashi and Wack100 which finally dropped this morning.

As expected, tensions ran high throughout the 3-hour-long podcast as Tekashi 6ix9ine and Wack ironed out the issues that have been boiling over the past few years. At one point in the conversation, 6ix9ine and Wack landed on the topic of Lil Durk who the rainbow-haired rapper insists should fight him.
“Before you leave Miami, you call Durk and get him in the same room as me — make it happen. You got the phone right there,” 6ix9ine demanded as Wack stared across the table with his arms crossed. “And what? I can make that call,” Wack responded. “You wanna head on with Durk?”
“A head on with Durk. The bathroom right there,” 6ix9ine said, claiming that he’s “been doing that.”
“You weren’t doing that in jail,” Wack said before 6ix9ine started listing off his apparent credentials.
“2015, when I was on Riker’s Island in the three-building at A top, I was gettin’ in the bathroom with YG n***as. Are you fucking kidding me?!” 6ix9ine said as his face turned red with fury. However, he ultimately set Wack up for the punchline.
“Were you drugged in the bathroom or you was voluntarily going into the bathroom?” Wack asked. “As big as you want to talk, you’re not that big.”
Check out the full interview below. The bit on Durk starts around the 31:50-mark.
Royce Da 5’9″ Previews Slaughterhouse Reunion: “3 Down, 1 To Go”
What is going on in hip-hop? First Dr. Dre is dropping a new album, then Wu-Tang’s Once Upon A Time In Shaolin found a new buyer, and now Slaughterhouse appears to be on the verge of a reunion. Before long, Andre 3000 will be announcing a solo project on the way.
In all seriousness, Royce Da 5’9, KXNG Crooked, and Joell Ortiz appear to be actively collaborating once again, and while it’s unclear as to whether Joe Budden will be hopping on board, the door has been left wide open for the podcaster should he be so inclined. Following a series of phone-call catch-ups, it seems as if the three aforementioned emcees wasted little time in hitting the booth, laying down what can only be described as theme music.

Royce shared a snippet of the track in question on his Instagram page, playing the majority of KXNG Crooked’s verse. From the sound of it, the track appears to feature a heavy superhero motif, and Crook lines his verse with references to Wakanda, WandaVision, Deadshot, One-Punch Man, the Incredible Hulk, and more. “Crooked is gooooooooddddd,” captions Royce, while Crooked issues an open invite to Budden: “3 down, 1 to go.”
It’s also interesting to note the narration that appears to introduce each verse, reminiscent of a classic superhero TV series. “Meanwhile back at the lab, Slaughterhouse had had their first defeat,” begins the narrator. “The team is feeling down and out, but are they down for the count?” From there, the track explodes with an epic Conan The Barbarian sample, leading into a hard-hitting verse from track opener Royce Da 5’9. From the sound of his early bars, don’t be surprised to see this one titled “Comic Book” or some similar variation when it drops.
He also shared another snippet, and while it doesn’t appear to feature any of his Slaughterhouse compatriots, the aggressive tone does seem to suggest a potential response to his old pal Lupe Fiasco. Clearly, Nickle has had his hands full of late, and don’t be surprised to see the calculated Detroit veteran returning in full force. The only question is, how strong is Joe’s resistance to FOMO?
