Kanye West Shares Pre-Order For New Yeezy x Gap Jacket

Following the “Countdown to Donda” event on Apple Music, Thursday night, Kanye West shared the pre-order link for another jacket from the YEEZY x GAP partnership. This time around, fans can purchase a red variant of the Round Jacket, which West has been seen wearing at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in the build-up to the release of Donda.

The unisex jacket costs $200 and is expected to ship in Spring 2022. The similar blue Round Jacket sold out nearly immediately after its release on West’s birthday, in June.

Earlier this week, former GAP CEO Mickey Drexler, who worked with the company between 1992 and 2002, said it was unwise for both GAP and West to partner up.

“I told him he shouldn’t do the deal because it doesn’t make any sense in my opinion,” Drexler said, referring to a conversation he had with West. “It doesn’t work for someone like Kanye. He is not a corporate person and Gap is a big corporation.

“He is a smart guy but he shouldn’t have done it. And I don’t think they [Gap] should have done it, either,” he added.

Wack 100 Tells 21 Savage “I’ll Beat Your Lil Ass, N*gga” In Heated Exchange

Things got a bit spicy over on Clubhouse after Wack 100 and 21 Savage exchanged a few heated words. Although the Clubhouse hype has dissipated in recent months, artists are still having the time of their lives on the app. As the world awaited the arrival of Kanye West’s Donda—which has yet to materialize—Akademiks, Tekashi 6ix9ine, Wack 100, and 21 Savage were all in a Clubhouse room having a chat when things went left.

A clip of the escalating argument was posted to social media, and while what prefaced the blowout has yet to be shared, listeners can hear Wack and 21 disagreeing. 6ix9ine was egging it on in true trolling fashion as Wack spoke over everyone to make sure his voice was heard. “Listen to me bro, I’ve met you before, you’ve been real humble,” said Wack to 21. “Me and you both know, n*gga, if you was standing in front of me right now, you wouldn’t have that energy.”

21 Savage yelled that the assertion was “cap” as 6ix9ine laughed and instigated the exchange. “N*gga, I’ll beat yo motherf*ckin’ lil’ ass,” Wack continued. “You lil’ bitty ass boy. I will beat your lil’ ass, little bitty ass boy… It’s cool that you don’t agree with what I’m sayin’, but n*gga, I’m not no rapper, n*gga. I will f*ck you up, n*gga.”

Wack 100 suggested that he make a trip down to Atlanta to settle the score as moderators continued to try to get 6ix9ine to stop yelling over him. 21 took the verbal hits in stride and remained silent, but after repeated threats were tossed his way, the Southern rapper told Wack to “say less.” Wack replied, “What we doin’, my n*gga? You comin’ out here or I’m comin’ out there? Cause we can get down, n*gga!”

Nicki Minaj Corrects Jessie J After Rewriting “Bang Bang” History

She has often ignored mentions of her name in interviews, but Nicki Minaj surfaced on Thursday (August 5) evening to set a few things straight. Back in 2014, Jessie J, Ariana Grande, and Nicki took over the airwaves with their megahit single “Bang Bang,” and in a recent interview with Glamour magazine, Jessie spoke on how the collaboration came to be.

According to the singer, she and Ariana were first played the Max Martin-penned track before Nicki was able to hear and said that she had to get on the record as well. However, Nicki was made aware of the mention and took to Twitter to say that someone was reimagining history.

“Babe @JessieJ I didn’t hear the song & ask 2get on it. The label asked me2get on it & paid me,” the rapper wrote. “How would I have heard the song? [weary face emoji] chiiille what am I the damn song monitor? Snoopin around for songs chile? [crying laughing emoji] This was said by another artist recently as well. Yallgotta stop [red balloon emoji] LoveUFace [kissy face with heart emoji].”

During the back and forth with fans, a Twitter user wanted to know what Nicki was working on. The rapper mentioned that it was something that included “1 icon & 1 trendsetter.” We’ll have to wait for that revelation, but in the meantime, you can read through a few of Nicki Minaj’s tweets below.

Nas & Lauryn Hill Reunite On “Nobody” Banger From “King’s Disease II”

In the summer of 1996, Nas and Lauryn Hill took us down a lyrical journey as they came together to describe what they would do if they were in charge. “If I Ruled the World (Imagine That)” is a certifiable Hip Hop classic that speaks to the ills of marginalized communities and political problems that have plagued the disenfranchised, and while that collaboration continues to be a favorite, the two artists have reunited for what should be another hit.

On Friday (August 6), Nas shared King’s Disease II, an album he produced alongside Hit-Boy, and almost immediately after it was released, Lauryn Hill began trending on social media platforms. Nas and Hill came together once again, this time on “Nobody,” a smooth banger where the Miseducation icon drops bars that have fans begging for her to release another album.

Nas and Lauryn Hill hit the mark with this one, so stream”Nobody” and share your thoughts.

Quotable Lyrics

All my time has been focused on my freedom now
Why would I join ’em when I know that I can beat ’em now?
They put their words on me, and they can eat ’em now
That’s probably why they keep on tellin’ me I’m needed now
They tried to box me out while takin’ what they want from me
I spent too many years living too uncomfortably
Making room for people who didn’t like the labor
Or wanted the spoils, greedy, selfish behavior

Tinashe Drops “333” Ft. Jeremih, Kaash Paige, Buddy

She’s made it clear that she’s vying for recognition as a Pop princess, and her latest album may have done just that. Tinashe has been amassing success for years and now that she’s an independent artist, she’s able to create the type of music that she loves. Back in 2019, Tinashe revealed that she cleaned house and got rid of her management and label before embarking on a new journey where she was able to collaborate and express herself as she sees fit.

On Friday (August 6), Tinashe returned with her 15-track album 333, and on it, she blurs those R&B-Pop lines as she linked with artists such as Jeremih, Kaash Paige, Absolutely, Wax Motif, and Buddy. 333 has tracks that will put you in a mellow mood that will elevate your vibration, so stream Tinashe’s latest and let us know what you think.

Rico Nasty Is Ready To Let It ‘Buss’ On Her Animated New Banger

At the end of May, Rico Nasty teased a possible project that fans could get their hands on by the end of the summer. In a post to Instagram, she shared an image of two glow-in-the-dark prescription bottles with the caption, “Rx . This summer.” Since Rico Nasty hasn’t shared much about the upcoming project, but she has given her supporters an ample supply of music to enjoy, a streak she extends with her latest single, “Buss.” The animated banger sees the rapper in an extremely confident state where she brags about the support of her team, her jewelry, and the inability of the competition to bring her down.

Rico Nasty’s new song comes more than a month after she delivered “Magic,” a track that stands on the opposite side of the spectrum from “Buss.” The June single found the rapper showing off her versatility with a more pop-friendly record that celebrates the success of romance. This year has also seen a string of guest appearances from the DMV rapper. Some of the efforts include Love Ghost’s “Wolfsbane,” Juicy J’s “Take It,” and Jasiah’s “Art Of War” which also features Denzel Curry.

Nas And Eminem’s ‘EPMD 2′ Is The Rappers’ First Collaboration In Their Careers

More than 25 years after releasing his classic debut album, Illmatic, Nas finally earned his first Grammy award with a win in the Best Rap Album category at the 2021 award show. The honor was given to his twelfth album, King’s Disease in what ended a streak of 13 consecutive nominations without a win at the Grammys. Less than a year after he released that project, Nas is looking to extend the momentum towards his thirteenth album, King Disease II, which has officially arrived and is once again supported by executive production from Hit-Boy.

An immediate eye-catcher from King’s Disease is “EPMD 2” as it features Nas and Eminem rapping together for the first time in the over 20 years they’ve stood out as hip-hop notables. The track also comes with a feature from rap duo EPMD, who let their bars fly for the track’s first verse. Nas steps to the mic for the second, leaving Eminem to close things out with a lengthy collection of bars that ends with him positioning himself with a number of successful rappers like Jay-Z, Kanye West, Drake, and many more.

While this marks the first time Nas and Eminem have rapped together on the same track, the latter produced and co-wrote Nas’ 2002 track, “The Cross.” As for the remainder of King Disease II, the album presents 15 songs and additional guest appearances from A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, YG, Lauryn Hill, Charlie Wilson, Blxst, and Hit-Boy.

You can listen to “EPMD 2” in the video above.

The Weeknd Suffers Defeat To A Daring Damsel In The Video For ‘Take My Breath’

The Weeknd has been hitting fans with a wave of hints towards new music for the past few months. The teases include a tweet he shared last spring where he wrote, “made so much magic in the small quarantined room.” In addition to that, during an award acceptance speech at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards, the singer said, “The After Hours are done and the dawn is coming.” His messages remained vague to fans until he announced a new single earlier this week, thus launching a new era in his career.

Titled “Take My Breath,” the track is an electric and full-spirited release that sounds like a blend of The Weeknd’s Starboy and After Hours albums. The song also arrives with a video that sees the singer wandering through a dimly lit party. He soon lands upon a woman that draws him in and ends up being the person he spends the night with. Unfortunately, things take a turn for the worst when she quite literally takes his breath away to end the visual.

The new song was announced in a two-minute trailer earlier this week. Shortly after he shared the video, an ad for the 2020 Olympics was released which featured a new, yet short portion of “Take My Breath.” The visual for The Weeknd’s latest release was initially slated to premiere prior to screenings of The Suicide Squad in IMAX theaters this week, but the visual was pulled after health concerns for epilepsy were raised as the video features scenes with intense strobe lighting.

You can watch a video for “Take My Breath” above.

Benny The Butcher, Rick Hyde, & G Herbo Breeze Through “Alone”

We’re not sure that Benny The Butcher has ever missed on a track, and he’s back with another home run. Benny and his fellow Black Soprano Family cohort Rick Hyde have linked for another noteworthy track as they dropped off “Alone.” The single features a look from chart-topping Chicago artist G Herbo was has been relishing in fatherhood once again after his fiancée Taina Williams gave birth to their baby boy months ago.

Benny is one of the hardest working emcees in the industry as he delivers tracks regularly, and as we continue to wait on that phantom collaboration with Drake that he’s holding onto so tightly, we’re welcoming “Alone” with open arms. The New York rapper stays true to his reputation with hard bars and witty rhymes, so stream “Alone” and let us know what you think about this one.

Quotable Lyrics

I always got this feelin’ from the money when I dealt it
If we talkin’ smoke, I want it all like I’m selfish
Don’t know if I’ma fry or I’ma grill it like it’s shellfish
Had the stakeouts with Orlando in a lobster on Atlantic
You won’t get this opportunity like runnin’ out of chances
