Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Plans To Use A Portion Of Caesars Palace Times Square’s Profits For An ‘Unprecedented Grant Program’

Jay-Z seemingly never rests.

On Monday morning, September 23, Jay-Z’s Roc Nation announced plans for an “unprecedented grant program” tied to the profit of Caesars Palace Times Square, a casino in development from Jay-Z, Roc Nation, and SL Green and Caesars Entertainment.

Roc Nation posted the news on Instagram.

“As part of $250 million community benefits commitment, Caesars Palace Times Square guarantees $15 million in initial funding to support community investments,” it reads. “Ongoing support tied directly to financial performance comes in addition to the $250 million.”

The statement continues:

“Led and initiated by Roc Nation, the bid team behind the proposal for Caesars Palace Times Square has announced a first-of-its-kind financial commitment to the Hell’s Kitchen community, including Manhattan Plaza, the famed artists’ affordable housing development.

The community would receive an initial $15 million from Caesars Palace Times Square upon arrival of its bid, and regular grants funded based on .5$ of casino performance. The unprecedented plan is another significant pillar of the Caesars Palace Times Square team’s unwavering commitment to uplifting Manhattan’s West Side and investing in New York.”

Jay-Z said, in part, “Any proposal that wins a gaming license will undoubtedly profit. Our vision is to give back to New York and ensure that the Broadway community, Hell’s Kitchen, and the surrounding businesses and areas all benefit. And not just for a minute, but for the long-term.”

This latest addition to Roc Nation’s bid echoes the sentiment initially shared in Roc Nation’s May 2023 open letter laying out a proposal for Caesars Palace Times Square, which would become New York City’s first such casino.

As relayed by Billboard, “a finite amount of licenses [are] expected to be granted by New York State in 2025.”

Orlando Brown Receives Apologies From Fans For His Old Comments Following Diddy Arrest

The recent arrest of Diddy on federal charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution led fans to discuss every past and present detail. One interpretation from all this is how folks are now looking back at previous allegations, stories, and claims about the Bad Boy mogul and wondering whether or not folks just missed the signs back then or if they are really just salacious gossip. As such, many fans are demanding apologies for Orlando Brown. He previously made some wild remarks about the businessman that, at the time, people didn’t believe for a second.

“[I] got to say no to Diddy,” Orlando Brown said when asked about Sean Combs in an old interview clip that recently resurfaced. “If there’s new booty in the building, you know he’s going to get it. You can take the b***h, but he wants you.” “This is real, just as real as what Orlando Brown was saying,” one fan commented on a social media post featuring this. “Only difference is ppl played with Orlandos credibility due to his drug use and theatrics but I don’t think his drug usage would prevent him w/ spreading those truths. Articulation is key element. Truth is there though.”

Orlando Brown Speaks On Diddy

“You know Diddy, one of my best friends?” Orlando Brown previously said of the disgraced executive in a contradictory statement. “So when you want to be a Kappa and you get hazed, didn’t you want to be a Kappa? […] We’re gonna haze you and haze you and haze you until you are a f***ing Kappa. That’s what happened. People sold their souls to Diddy, and then they’re mad now because the hazing process was a little bit rougher than they thought.”

Why would they not have sex when they’re gay rappers?” Orlando Brown claimed to No Jumper concerning Diddy and Meek Mill. “We all know he’s gay. Rick Ross knows he’s gay. He paid me $2,000 to say that right? You only paid me $2,000. Everybody knows I got respect for Diddy. I love Diddy. Everybody tried to come at Diddy. Why I’m gonna make it harder for my man? Yo, I love my man [Diddy].” With all this in mind, it looks like an apology to Brown would only be for one of the many conflicting and bizarre statements he’s made about Puff.

DL Hughley Clowns Janet Jackson For Conspiratorial Take On Kamala Harris

DL Hughley went after Janet Jackson on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday after the iconic singer made headlines for claiming that Vice President Kamala Harris isn’t Black. Trolling her for the conspiratorial take, Hughley jokingly accused Jackson of “breathing through the nose of a white woman.”

“JanetJacksons interview sounded like a #Trump rally! FYI!! It’s a little ironic to question whether someone is black while you’re breathing through the nose of a white woman! #TeamDl,” he wrote in one post. Following it up, he added: “KamalaHarris looks the way she does cuz she has mom from India and a dad from Jamaica! #JanetJackson looks the way she does cuz she has a plastic surgeon! #TeamDl,” as well as “All I know is #Kamala looks like she did when she was in Oakland! But Janet don’t look like she did when she was Penny! What the hell was in that iron??”

Jackson had been speaking with The Guardian for an interview published on Saturday when she spread the disinformation. “‘Well, you know what they supposedly said?’” Jackson told the news outlet. “‘She’s not Black. That’s what I heard. That she’s Indian.’” When The Guardian explained that Harris is both Black and Indian, Jackson countered: “Her father’s white. That’s what I was told. I mean, I haven’t watched the news in a few days. I was told that they discovered her father was white.”

Aubrey O’Day Shares Song She Wrote About Diddy A Decade Ago

Aubrey O’Day has been a very outspoken voice against Diddy even before this wave of hefty allegations, and she recently sought to show it. Moreover, she shared an old 2013 track of hers on social media which talks about her strained relationship with him as a result of her getting fired from Danity Kane and the debacle that ensued. The lyrics touch on “no escape,” dead ends, debt, and the singer wishing that she never got in that situation in the first place. It’s hard to connect all the dots with this brief snippet down below, but it’s still an interesting retrospective.

“The purpose of justice is to provide an ending and allow us the space to create a new chapter,” Aubrey O’Day tweeted after Diddy’s arrest. “Women never get this. I feel validated. Today is a win for women all over the world, not just me. Things are finally changing.” “He did worse than that to me,” she responded to a reporter who noted how folks criticized her for her previous condemnations against him. “And thank you Yashir for this post. Appreciate you being in my corner and believing me. Xo.”

Aubrey O’Day’s Old Diddy Song

“There’s no vindication for anyone to have,” Aubrey O’Day expressed concerning the Diddy and Cassie hotel video. “Sadly, if you’re a victim of anyone at any point in time in life, this will ring true to you: There’s no such thing as vindication. It never goes away. It’s never better. And even when people are exposed, it doesn’t take away the experience. I suppose [being vindicated] gives you more credibility. But if you believe in yourself, anyone else’s belief in you doesn’t really matter much anyway. So, no, I don’t feel that.”

Diddy did not apologize to Cassie,” Aubrey O’Day said of his apology to his former partner. “He apologized to the world for seeing what he did. He says he’s ‘disgusted w himself now, and he was disgusted w himself then’.. but apparently he wasn’t disgusted enough w himself to not PIN this statement out calling her a liar & denying all of it.. leave god and mercy out of this, they aren’t present here, and you know it.”
