Over the weekend, Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign finally unveiled their new album Vultures 2 by surprise. The project was originally slated for release earlier this year and after various delays, expected on August 2. It arrived just a day late this time around and has since gotten mixed reactions. While many were quick to praise the duo online after the drop, some listeners had complaints about the quality of the LP. Ye seemingly responded to this by delivering new updated versions of various tracks this week.
Of course, amid all of this debate, social media users were eager to see how the project would perform. Luckily, its first-week sales projections arrived today courtesy of Chart Data, and are nothing short of impressive. Reportedly, Vultures 2is on track to move almost 68K units in its first week.
Kanye West & Ty Dolla Sign’s Vultures 2 Expected To Move 68K Its First Week
This would put the album in second place on the Billboard 200 chart, just behind Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department. This is certainly no lousy feat, but it would be only the third time in Ye’s career that he doesn’t top the chart after a release. The past two times were with his 2004 debut The College Dropout and Kids See Ghosts with Kid Cudi in 2018.
Either way, this number is something to be proud of, particularly considering some disappointing first weeks fans have seen lately. What do you think of Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign’s Vultures 2 first-week sales projections? Are you surprised or not? Does the number seem low, high, or just right? Cris Carter did not hold back during the latest episode of his Fully Loaded podcast this week. Carter, a Hall of Fame wide receiver during his years in the NFL, joined Fox Sports in 2016 as a football analyst. That move came shortly after Skip Bayless moved to the network and started co-hosting Undisputed with Hall of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe. Sharpe became one of the most successful athletes-turned-media personalities in recent memory. In 2023, he left FS1 to join ESPN, taking Undisputed‘s ratings with him. Carter did not follow in Sharpe’s footsteps, departing FS1 in 2019. However, he knows both well, having worked with them for a few years and also being a frequent contributor to Bayless’ previous show, First Take. On the latest podcast episode, he ripped Bayless.
Cris Carter criticized Skip Bayless for what he believes was exploitation of Black culture. He points to how Bayless moved to Fox Sports and started wearing Jordan brand sneakers. He talks about Bayless wearing gold chains, which was not something he did often during his time with ESPN. Carter even remarked about the relationship Bayless has with Lil Wayne, stating that he does not believe there was no way the two of them could be close. Wayne did both theme songs for Undisputed while Bayless was with FS1.
Cris Carter also talked about how fans perceived Skip Bayless, and that what Bayless did was take advantage of Black support for his co-hosts. “People show up to support Shannon, people show up to support Stephen A., and then they had to tolerate him. And he knew that,” said Carter. He also talked about the staged nature of sports debate shows, likening Bayless to a heel (a bad guy) in professional wrestling, one who does not really believe what he’s saying.
Carter’s comments are unsurprising. Many athletes dislike Skip Bayless for how he talks about them on television, as Bayless often gets personal for no reason but to draw engagement. Part of the reason Shannon Sharpe left FS1 was because Bayless repeatedly downplayed his Hall of Fame athletic career in disrespectful ways. When Sharpe finished up with Undisputed, FS1 attempted to relaunch the show centered around Bayless, but it was unsuccessful. The lack of success and inability for the show’s ratings to rebound following Sharpe’s departure almost certainly contributed to his own departure from the network on August 2. What Bayless does next remains to be seen, but his next venture will definitely not involve Cris Carter.

On the cover of his 2022 album Dawn FM, Abel Tesfaye, a.k.a The Weeknd, aged himself to look like an old man with wrinkles and a gray beard. But you know what’s even scarier than beholding the ravages of age? A haunted house attraction!
The Weeknd is returning to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood this year for The Weeknd: Nightmare Trilogy, an “authentic, one-of-a-kind horror experience with surprises at every turn and music by The Weeknd scored by seminal producer, artist, and seven-time Grammy award winner Mike Dean.” You can watch the announcement video above.
“The Weeknd: Nightmare Trilogy” is one of eight haunted houses coming to Universal Studios Hollywood, along with “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Legacy of Leatherface,” “Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines,” “Insidious: The Further,” “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,” and “A Quiet Place.” There’s also “Terror Tram: Enter the Blumhouse,” which features characters from Blumhouse movies like M3GAN, The Black Phone, Freaky, The Purge, and Happy Death Day. For the first time in his career, Drake is the underdog. Okay, that’s a bit dramatic, but a comeback of sorts is certainly expected from the Toronto rap star. That, or proof of resilience — evidence that his defeat by Kendrick Lamar won’t be marked as a major turning point in his career. Admittedly, we’ve already seen this resilience from Drake.
His 2018 beef with Pusha T ended with a semi-low-blow knockout punch in the unveiling of Drake’s son Adonis, but in the end, Drake went on to put out his biggest hits and run the summer as he’s done many times this year. But this time, Kendrick Lamar beat Drake at the game he hoped to play, and now the Compton rapper owns the summer thanks to “Not Like Us.” That leaves the fall and winter months up for the taking, and in extremely smart fashion, Drake is gearing up to take them over.
Over the weekend, Drake announced that a joint album with PartyNextDoor will arrive this fall, and it’s the perfect next move for him in his career. “I know you girls are outside,” Drake quipped during a guest set at PND’s Sorry I’m Outside Tour stop in their hometown of Toronto. “When it gets a little chilly, a PartyNextDoor and Drake album will be right there for you.”
Mr. OVO himself has a long track record of big moments in the year’s colder months, though it wasn’t until last year’s For All The Dogs that he actually released an album in October. His breakout mixtape Comeback Season was released in September, as was arguably his best album Nothing Was the Same as well as What A Time To Be Alive and Certified Lover Boy. The Grammy-winning Take Care saw the light of day in November, as did Her Loss, while other highlights like So Far Gone and If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late debuted in February.
In addition to the argument that Drake’s best work arrives outside of the summer months, there’s also one for PartyNextDoor being one of — if not the — best collaborator Drake has consistently worked with in his career. Drake and PND have created over 20 songs together, including collaborations like “Recognize” and “Loyal,” songwriting contributions for each other’s songs, like PND’s “Not Nice” and Drake’s “Come Thru,” and work on other artists’ songs like Rihanna’s “Work” and Popcaan’s “Twist & Turn.”
Drake — music’s versatile superstar — and PND — a modern-day R&B wizard with an unmatched pen — are the perfect combination for a collaborative album. Fans often request joint albums from artists after two or three decent collaborations, all for the finished product to fall flat and underwhelming when it comes to fruition. Drake and PND, have already proven to be a match made in heaven that will only be solidified with this upcoming release.
With all this being said, what makes Drake and PND’s upcoming joint album the perfect move for Drake? Well, for the first time in a long time, Drake can be the cohesive tunnel-visioned artist he hasn’t been in nearly a decade. The beauty of albums like Take Care, Nothing Was the Same, Views, and If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late is they each exist in one individual world. You read their titles and can feel the texture and atmosphere they exist in, whereas with other projects, it’s a bit more scattered and all over the place.
PND thrives at this cohesion, as his most recent album PartyNextDoor 4 proves. He also subscribes to a simpler and more focused approach to his projects, which Drake can also benefit from. Furthermore, Drake and PND’s joint album marks the return of a beloved duo after both reached heights fans previously thought they could only dream of. It makes use of nostalgia, thanks to a decade-long catalog of collaborations, and fulfills a longtime request. For once, Drake is actually listening to us.
Drake will never take a break from music, he’s told us that plenty of times over the last few years. So fans who have begged him to step out of the spotlight will just have to suck it up and deal with the ever-present rap star. There is a compromise here, though. In the aftermath of the infamous rap beef, Drake is seemingly stepping out of the character that played the role of Kendrick’s fuming and disgruntled opponent, and replacing him, is one who wants to prove that good music can erase the bad times, or blur them at least. Drake’s recent release of “100 gigs” of unreleased material included plenty of evidence to show how calculated he is as a musician.
Announcing a joint album with a longtime friend and beloved collaborator is another example of that, and it’s one that could benefit everyone involved, from Drake and PND themselves to waiting fans, as well — if they deliver and meet the expectations laid before them.
One of three New York Police Department (NYPD) detectives who stands accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of champagne from JAY-Z has admitted to the wrongdoing and resigned from the force. The three men, Jonathan Gonzalez, Warren Golden, and Wojciech Czech, allegedly stole two unopened bottles worth $2,900 while patrolling for drugs at the Electric Zoo Music Festival on Randall’s Island. Gonzalez and Czech were charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. Additionally, Golden and Gonzalez received charges of official misconduct for failing to prevent theft.
On account of admitting to the crime, Czech will only receive one count of misdemeanor petty larceny and serve 15 days of community service while resigning from the NYPD. “In addition to the alleged theft that occurred, none of these Officers stepped up and stopped this activity. Public confidence in the criminal justice system depends on members of law enforcement acting with the utmost integrity while on duty and following the same rules that apply to everyone else,” said District Attorney Bragg, as caught by AllHipHop.
Bragg first indicted the trio back in May 2023. At the time, Czech and his legal team were much more adamant about his innocence. “(My client) is shocked and saddened by these allegations,” Czech’s attorney, Attorney Oliver Storch, said at the time. “He has pleaded not guilty and asks the public to withhold judgment until the charges can be fully addressed in the appropriate forum. Detective Czech loves being in the business of protecting and saving lives.”
Prior to Czech’s admission, Gonzalez owned up to the crime and quit as well. Be on the lookout for further updates on JAY-Z on HotNewHipHop.
G Herbo is coming out of left field with some pretty brazen comments about rappers who go on No Jumper. Funny enough, the hip-hop/pop culture platform reposted the Chicago, Illinois native’s Instagram Story. “You offer these n****s enough money or clout they suck a d**k on no jumper”. The first we are asking ourselves is who could he possibly be referring to? Is it artists who need extra publicity? Or is he targeting simply anyone who decides to? Or is it someone in particular?
It seems it’s Herbo’s plan to be as vague as possible, because this is certainly creating a lot of chatter online. Underneath the reupload from No Jumper, a lot of people are seeing the truth in this bold claim. “I mean he not kapin yall sum clout chasing pickle ticklers”, one IG user echoes. ” Others are seeming to agree with the “PTSD” rapper due to their own disliking of the podcast and Adam22.
“Welp I see NO LIES detected.. The WHOLE podcast FRUITY ASF ..”. However, Adam was quick to respond and in hilarious fashion. He reshared what appears to be an older photo of him and G Herbo linking up on his IG Story. He included a P. Diddy song aptly titled “I’ll Be Missing You”, suggesting that the drill artist did in fact do what he claims the rapper’s do when they go on the show. Herbo has been a frequent guest of the show in the past, making this comeback from Adam22 even sweeter. However, we still want to know, “who hurt G Herbo?”.
What are your thoughts on G Herbo calling out guests that go on No Jumper like this? Do you think he’s right, why or why not? What do you think of Adam22’s response? Are they the most controversial hip-hop news platform right now? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding G Herbo and No Jumper. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on in the music world.

Halloween Horror Nights Unveils Spooky New Trailer For The Weeknd’s “Nightmare Trilogy”
The exciting announcement comes after The Weeknd launched his “After Hours Nightmare” haunted house at Halloween Horror Nights in 2022. The attraction was inspired by his 2020 album, After Hours. At the time, Halloween Horror Nights executive producer and creative director John Murdy told Billboard that he didn’t see The Weeknd’s vision at first. After digging into his discography and speaking with him, however, it all clicked.“I knew his songs, but I didn’t really understand how it all connected to horror until I sat down and started talking to Abel and then did a deep dive into his music,” Murdy explained. “His music videos and his cinematic inspirations … Was really I think the ‘a-ha’ moment for me.”
The bar is certainly set high this time around, and social media users are looking forward to seeing what else the hitmaker has up his sleeve.
