T-Boz, the iconic singer from TLC, has spoken out for the first time following her recent hospitalization for a “severe abdominal blockage.” The medical emergency forced T-Boz, whose real name is Tionne Watkins, and the legendary R&B group to cancel their August 23 performance at the New York State Fair and another show at Foxwoods.

A statement shared by TLC on social media shortly after the incident explained, “Shortly after arriving in Syracuse, Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins experienced sudden and severe nausea, vomiting, and intense abdominal cramps. She was immediately seen by a doctor and subsequently taken to the hospital for further evaluation.”

Following days of concern from fans and supporters, T-Boz broke her silence with a heartfelt post on Instagram, providing a health update and expressing her gratitude for the support she has received. “I’m on The Mend!!! This Was Just One Of Those Unexpected Things That I Had No Control Over! I Look Forward To Making It Up 2 You All… And Hopefully I’ll Get Out Of The Hospital Soon!!! As Soon As Tomorrow If All Goes Well!!! Thank You For Understanding… Blessings Always T❤ #tboz #Tbeezy #TLC,” she wrote.

TLC fans were quick to send their best wishes to T-Boz, expressing support and love for the singer. One fan, @joyluvphotography, wrote, “TBoz focus on your health Hon. Don’t trip off of being there for us fans. You’ve given us decades of yourself. Your health is number 1. We ain’t going nowhere. We’ll support you and Chili forever. We love y’all but ya health more important Sista.🙏🏾🤗

Another fan, @xo.tarzan, added, “Real fans would have been okay with a, ‘Guys, I’m sick.’ & understood! We love youuuuu!” Singer and producer @iam_mali commented, “Sis Praying and knowing that God has you. You don’t need to apologize to anyone. You have the sweetest heart and everyone who knows you knows your heart 💯💝 and that you would be there if you could. Love you babe get well ❤️‍🩹.”

TLC’s next scheduled performances are on Saturday, August 31, in Highland Park, Illinois, and Sunday, September 1, in Welch, Minnesota. Fans are hopeful that T-Boz will be well enough to perform and continue the tour.

TLC, originally a trio with T-Boz, Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, and Lisa “Left-Eye” Lopes, rose to fame in the 1990s as pioneers blending R&B and hip hop. The group achieved massive success with chart-topping hits such as “Waterfalls,” “No Scrubs,” “Creep,” and “Unpretty,” solidifying their place in music history. Tragically, Lisa “Left-Eye” Lopes died in a car accident in Honduras in 2002, but the group’s legacy has continued strong with T-Boz and Chilli keeping the music alive.

T-Boz’s recovery remains a top priority, and fans are looking forward to seeing her back on stage, healthy and thriving.

Big Sean Clowns Drake By Recreating The Rapper’s Selfie Duck Face

Big Sean just had a big weight lifted off his shoulders. The rapper finally dropped his anticipated album Better Me Than You. Fans have waited years, and the general consensus so far is that it was worth the wait. Big Sean’s lyricism was on point, and the production was soulful and varied. But we’re not here to discuss the album. We’re here to discuss what Big Sean did in the aftermath of its release. The rapper was feeling good on Instagram Live, and he decided to mock Drake by recreating the 6 God’s infamous “duck face” for a selfie.

Big Sean knew what he was doing, and it was all in good fun. “I’m gonna do the Drake face,” he said during his IG Live. He tries to recreate the pouty expression that Drake has become known for, and he can’t hold it fore more than a few seconds without laughing. He tries one more time, and holds it for even less time. Sean probably saw the same Instagram post we all did on August 28. Drake decided to clown his own tendency for making duck faces by posting a few examples. He also, however, included pics of other guys doing it. Chiefly, YouTuber Duke Dennis and rapper-turned-podcaster Joe Budden.

Big Sean Responded To Drake’s Viral Instagram Post

Drake playfully credited Dennis and Budden for encouraging his duck face. “I’m not aware of my picture or mirror face,” the 6 God noted. “It’s a curse from birth and I’m influenced by what I see.” If the IG Live video came from another, some people would be calling shade. Big Sean, though, clears the allegations. The rapper is one of the agreeable people in the game. Well, as long as your name isn’t Kanye West or, for some reason, Kendrick Lamar. Sean and Drake have maintained a neutral relationship over the years.

The only times Big Sean has really talked about Drake has been the ways in which Drake has indirectly impacted his career. He told Drink Champs that he took offense to the fact that his ex label boss, West, often praised Drake over him. Big Sean also lamented the fact that his big comeback single, “Precision,” was drowned out by the Drake and Kendrick Lamar battle. On a person to person basis, however, Sean has never voiced issues with the Toronto superstar.

ASAP Rocky Shared A New Single, ‘Tailor Swif,’ After It Leaked Online

ASAP Rocky is in full rollout mode for his upcoming, long-awaited album, Don’t Be Dumb, and despite an earlier threat to withhold any of his leaked songs from the album, that apparently isn’t stopping him from using them to promote it.

One of those songs is “Tailor Swif,” a hypnotic single that finds Rocky reminiscing about his days as a stick-up kid, running the streets of his hometown, Harlem, and contrasting that with his modern, high-fashion lifestyle. By the way, that misspelling is intentional — it’s a reference to his penchant for putting that sh*t on, not a just an off-kilter shout-out to the pop idol.

Rocky’s still revealed very little about the album to date; while it was initially scheduled to be released today (August 30), he unceremoniously pushed the album back again, although he did tell Billboard that no less a luminary than Tim Burton “was f*cking with it heavy.” This surprised Rocky, but I mean… he does kinda dress like Beetlejuice, doesn’t he? They have similar vibes.

As far as when the album is coming out… who knows? Maybe he and his wife/girlfriend/children’s mother Rihanna have a bet going to see who can terrorize their fans the most before people give up on waiting for new music from either. Maybe they’re plotting a joint release, just for the lulz. In any event, you can check out “Tailor Swif” above.

Chance The Rapper Isn’t Sweating The Empty Seats In His Defiantly Humble ‘3333’ Video

There’s no esoteric numerology to the title of Chance The Rapper’s new single, “3333.” In fact, he explains where the number comes from right in the second verse; it’s the number of tickets he sold to a recent gig at the Minnesota State Fair– which, as it turns out, is a massive undersell for a venue that houses 14,000. However, he didn’t let that deter him. Despite being asked if he wanted to cancel, he went ahead and rocked out anyway, playing songs from his hit albums and his upcoming album Star Line for an enthusiastic crowd that still sung along to just about every word.

According to The Minnesota Star Tribune, Chance made sure to inform the crowd, “I want you to know that whole ticketing thing. I’d perform for one of y’all.” He noted that while on the come-up, he’d performed at shows with 13 performers on the bill — and that they would constitute the entire audience, as well (been there, bro). Those sentiments also make their way into “3333,” a nonetheless joyful tune that finds Chance celebrating just the opportunity to perform for a crowd larger — and more energized for his performance — than those at his early showcases.

Chance’s fortunes have certainly taken a tumble from when he was at the height of his powers after the release of Coloring Book, but before his debut album The Big Day caused him to take a beating in some fans’ estimations. But he’s still here, still humble, still grateful for his successes, even if they might seem less impressive to some people. There’s something inspirational in that — which I suspect is the point. This is why Star Line might not end up grabbing headlines, but will almost certainly endear him to even the skeptics who wrote him off in addition to the fans who never lost faith.

Destroy Lonely Refines His Signature Style On “Love Lasts Forever” Album

Destroy Lonely is an Opium artist through and through. He’s cut from the same cloth as his label boss, Playboi Carti, but he has managed to carve out his own lane. Lonely’s music is cloudier than Carti’s, with more of an emphasis on melody. Well, easier on the ear melodies, at least. The rapper’s second album, Love Lasts Forever, has arrived, and it bears this knack for melody out. Destroy Lonely manages to hold down 21 tracks with only two features, and provide a varied exploration of his sound. “Forever,” the intro, is a surprisingly pop-friendly excursion. It mashes up synths and Autotune with a mid-song beat switch that goes deceptively hard.

The rest of Love Lasts Forever is fun of these fun surprises. Lil Uzi Vert hopes on a propulsive, tribal sounding pattern on “Love Hurts.” Destroy Lonely sounds utterly hypnotic over the lean-drenched beat to “Pimp Talk.” It sounds like “Still Tippin” updated for Gen Z in the best possible way. The album does run into the flaw of most 20 plus song releases, which is that some songs blend into each other. “Pimp Talk” cancels out the need for “Cadillac,” the same way the spectacularly trippy “Extra High” takes the thunder away from the similarly sounding “Honestly.” A shorter version of Love Lasts Forever is likely better, but it’s still a great sophomore outing for Destroy Lonely.

Tommy Richman Takes A Date To The Desert In His Cozy ‘Thought You Were The One’ Video

As he builds on the success of his breakout hit “Million Dollar Baby,” DMV singer Tommy Richman has swung hard into a desert theme for his upcoming debut album, Coyote. Besides evoking the canine avatars of the driest climates with the album’s title, he’s also announced a tour, Before The Desert, aimed at getting fans in his hometown, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles psyched up for the project.

To that end, he’s also released a new single, following up “Devil Is A Lie” with “Thought You Were The One.” And in keeping with the desert theme, the video for the song — which finds him pondering similar heartbroken subject matter to his prior singles — takes him to a moonlight cactus-riddled landscape, where he gets cozy with a date under the stars in the back of his vintage Jeep. The video has a collage/’zine feel, which matches the semi-punk presentation of Richman’s rollout to date.

In a press release, Tommy said of the song, “It’s a great example of slowing things down a little bit… It’s not always about the hype songs. I’m versatile.” He’ll get the chance to show off even more of that versatility on September 27, when he releases the Coyote LP via Brent Faiyaz’s ISO Supremacy and Pulse. You can watch the video for “Thought You Were The One” above, and find more album info here.
