Bill Ford, executive chair of Ford, said in a statement caught by CBS News: “Michigan Central means a great deal to us all. In many ways, this building tells the story of our city. This Station was our Ellis Island — a place where dreamers in search of new jobs and new opportunities first set foot in Detroit. But once the last train pulled out, it became a place where hope left. In 2018, I decided it was time to change that by reimagining this station as a place of possibility again.”

Angel Reese Says The Reason For The WNBA’s Surge In Popularity Is More Than Just Caitlin Clark

According to Angel Reese, there are other factors at play in the WNBA’s recent surge in popularity than Caitlin Clark. “I think so many people are watching women’s basketball right now,” the Chicago Sky star told WGN News after practice Monday. She continued, “It all started from the national championship game, and I’ve been dealing with this for two years now, and understand that, yeah, negative things have probably been said about me. But honestly, I’ll take that because look where women’s basketball is.” The 22-year-old Reese claimed that more and more individuals “you never would think would be talking about women’s basketball” are becoming aware of the league.

Angel Reese explains that it isn’t just a singular individual driving the popularity the WNBA is receiving “People are pulling up to games. We’ve got celebrities coming to games [and] sold-out arenas just because of one single game,” she said. Rapper Latto notably showed up to support Angel Reese, and she received love from Megan Thee Stallion. The forward declared that if it means the WNBA will keep expanding, she is willing to take on the role of the villain. Overall, Angel Reese wants to make it clear that the players before her and her rookie class are the reason the WNBA is having a moment. While Clark is a big reason, she isn’t the sole reason.

Angel Reese Says The WNBA is More Than One Person

Many took what Angel said and left out the part where she talked about everyone contributing, like Robert Griffin III. The analyst then corrected himself when shown the full clip. Angel Reese spoke about the impact that she will have down the line, affirming that she believes it’s a collective effort to grow the game. She said, “I know I’ll go down in history. I’ll look back in 20 years and be like, ‘Yeah, the reason why we’re watching women’s basketball is not just because of one person. It’s because of me, too.’ And I want you to realize that.” She continued, “Like, it’s just not ’cause of one person. A lot of us have done so much for this game.”

Angel Reese and other players are being targeted for not ushering in a red carpet for Caitlin Clark. The discourse around Clark is getting into murky territory where pundits who never covered the WNBA are acting as if they are authorities. Overall, Angel Reese is right. Caitlin Clark is a big reason for the surge in popularity, but so are Angel Reese Cameron Brink, and a number of other rookies. Not to mention the superstars that have been dominating the league like Aja Wilson.

Pat McAfee Apologizes For Out Of Pocket Caitlin Clark Comments: “That’s 100% On Me And For That I apologize.”

In response to the criticism, Pat McAfee says he shouldn’t have used the term to characterize Caitlin Clark and that he personally apologized to her for the error. “No matter the context.. even if we’re talking about race being a reason for some of the stuff happening,” McAfee said on twitter. “I have way too much respect for her and women to put that into the universe.” He adde, “My intentions when saying it were complimentary just like the entire segment but, a lot of folks are saying that it certainly wasn’t at all. That’s 100% on me and for that I apologize.”

After calling Caitlin Clark a “white bitch” during a heated tirade about WNBA coverage on Monday, Pat McAfee, an ESPN broadcaster, is now receiving blowback for the remarks. The “Pat McAfee Show” began with an angry monologue from the former punter for the Indianapolis Colts. He described how tired of hearing people say that the WBNA is becoming more and more popular because of the rookie class that included players like Angel Reese, Cameron Brink, and Clark. To make his argument, McAfee put on a presentation akin to a game show, highlighting how Clark is outperforming her fellow first-year pros in terms of TV ratings, jersey sales, and attendance.

Pat McAfee Is Sorry After Caitlin Clark DeBacle

In response to the assertions that Clark’s race contributes to her notoriety, he said that the fact that she is white is meaningless because numerous other well-known players in the league, like Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu, and Kelsey Plum, are all Caucasian. He shockingly said, “I would like the media people that continue to say, ‘This rookie class, this rookie class, this rookie class,’” McAfee said minutes ago. “Nah, just call it for what it is — there’s one white bitch for the Indiana team who is a superstar.”

“Is there a chance that people just enjoy watching her play basketball because of how electrifying she is, what she did, what she stood for, how she went about going what she went for? Maybe,” he added. “But instead, we have to hear people say that we all like her ’cause she’s white and she’s only popular because the rest of the rookie class is doing what they’re doing.” Pat is walking back his statements but with his platform, he is allowed to pretty much do whatever he wants with no consequences. Overall, the Caitlin Clark discourse is getting toxic and people like McAffee are a big reason why.

Drake Deletes “The Heart Part 6” From His Instagram Page, Fans Question Why

Drake appears to have deleted his Instagram post promoting “The Heart Part 6” from his page. Fans took note of the move on social media on Tuesday morning and are questioning why he would do so. The song was the final diss track he dropped aimed at Kendrick Lamar. It hit streaming services on Sunday, May 5.

Taking to Twitter, one fan revealed they noticed the post was gone when they went looking for confirmation of his new feature on “Wah Gwan Delilah.” They wrote: “Why’d Drake delete his post of The Heart Part 6? Ik it was there earlier today because I went to his Instagram to see if Wah Gwan Delilah ([face palm emoji]) was real.” Another user argued: “Drake literally deleted the heart part 6 from his IG and y’all think he won. Btw Nas won even tho he didn’t respond to jay Z’s last track, it’s not about who releases last.”

Despite deleting “The Heart Part 6,” Drake didn’t scrub all traces of his feud with Kendrick Lamar. His most recent post is now his promotion of his previous diss track in the beef, “Family Matters.” He and Lamar have been going back and forth for months since the release of Future and Metro Boomin’s song, “Like That.” On the track, Lamar directly dissed both Drake and J. Cole.

Drake’s “The Heart Part 6” Remains On YouTube

Outside of the beef, Drake just teamed up with Snowd4y for the new song, “Wah Gwan Delilah,” a cover of Plain White T’s “Hey There Delilah.” The song is going viral with fans having very differing opinions on the track. Be on the lookout for further updates on Drake on HotNewHipHop.

Check out the new “Ariie-Plugged”, a fashion/art project by NYC artist Ariie West, which under his fashion brand Ariri, is known simply as “Plugged”. This fusion of art, fashion and culture shows Ariie’s vision of future collaborations with other brands and features Reebok’s one-of-a-kind Pump sneaker complete with plug inserts and working sockets. Each piece of Ariie’s “Plugged” installment shows off West’s creativity, which transforms footwear into a piece of modern art.

As you can tell, Ariie isn’t just a rapper who can design some drip. Hailing from Harlem, the hustler capital of the world, West owns his own label Autrumn Records, which has a distribution deal through the Virgin Records imprint under the Earth Program umbrella. And West isn’t a newcomer to this. Working under Pharrell Williams’ protegé Jay Ice Pick, laid the foundation for West’s music and fashion endeavors.

The operational process involves linking 20 pairs of sneakers in a chain, connecting one end to a speaker and the other end to an audio source. The artist strategically employs this art installation to illustrate the diverse, yet interconnected nature of humanity, emphasizing our common origin from the same source; Earth.

Watch: ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ Trailer is Released

Watch: ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ Trailer is Released

There is hope for the exhaustion with superhero films now that Sony Pictures just unveiled the first trailer for Venom: The Last Dance, the final installment in the Spider-Man villain trilogy. Tom Hardy reprises his role as Eddie Brock, the host of the brain-eating symbiote Venom. The movie is described as “the final film in the trilogy,” with a logline that states, “Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie’s last dance.”

The exciting trailer features Hardy confronting a massive symbiote alien from Venom’s home planet … Full stop. Can we talk about how this feels like an alien invasion film? Not complaining but just sayin … Anyways, the symbiotic alien is being pursued by government agents. Trailer highlights include intense symbiote action and a scene where Hardy rides a super-fast, Venom-ized horse. The film also stars Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Fans of the beloved comic franchise recently saw Venom teased in the MCU’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home” post-credits scene, where the character was affected by Dr. Strange’s multiverse spell, briefly bringing him into the MCU. However, he was sent back to his universe, leaving behind a piece of his symbiote.

The studio confirmed “Venom 3” at CinemaCon 2022 after the success of its predecessors. The original “Venom” grossed $856 million globally, and “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” garnered $502 million worldwide despite its pandemic release.

Kelly Marcel, who wrote the previous films, makes her directorial debut with “Venom: The Last Dance” and co-wrote the script with Hardy. Let’s applaud more women directing in Hollywood and we need more of this! The film is produced by Marcel, Hardy, Avi Arad, Hutch Parker, Amy Pascal, and Matt Tolmach.

Venom: The Last Dance hits theaters on October 25.

Billionaire Spotify CEO Claims the Cost of Making “Content” Is “Close to Zero” and Sparks Immediate Backlash

Billionaire Spotify CEO Claims the Cost of Making “Content” Is “Close to Zero” and Sparks Immediate Backlash

Spotify CEO Daniel Ek faced significant backlash after claiming on X (formerly Twitter) that the cost of creating content is “close to zero.” Let’s take a moment to think about that. This guy is a billionaire who built an empire primarily from a streaming platform that pays most artists pennies, and he dares to…. Okay, let’s get on with what he said:

“Today, with the cost of creating content being close to zero, people can share an incredible amount of content. This has sparked my curiosity about the concept of long shelf life versus short shelf life. While much of what we see and hear quickly becomes obsolete, there are timeless ideas or even pieces of music that can remain relevant for decades or even centuries.”

Ek continued reflecting on enduring ideas: “For example, we’re witnessing a resurgence of Stoicism, with many of Marcus Aurelius’s insights still resonating thousands of years later. This makes me wonder: what are the most unintuitive, yet enduring ideas that aren’t frequently discussed today but might have a long shelf life? Also, what are we creating now that will still be valued and discussed hundreds or thousands of years from today?”

Musicians and music fans quickly criticized Ek’s remarks. Composer Tim Prebble responded, “Music will still be valued in a hundred years. Spotify won’t. It will only be remembered as a bad example of a parasitic tool for extracting value from other peoples music. (or ‘content’ as some grifters like to call it).”

Other users echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the low payouts Spotify provides to artists per stream. Primal Scream bassist Simone Marie Butler bluntly commented, “Fuck off you out of touch billionaire.” The Future of Music Coalition added, “It actually can still be expensive to make records, especially if you care about paying your collaborators fairly. Many musicians are skilled at cutting corners to accomplish their creative goals within limited budgets.”

For the record, he has since clarified his statements in a follow-up post on X, but what do you think? Is the damage done, or not?

Snowd4y Was Manifesting A Drake Collaboration For The Viral Trolling Hit “Wah Gwan Delilah”: Watch

Snowd4y, a comedian and TikTok star, managed to pull some strings and get Drake on his now viral “Wah Gwan Delilah” song. The two Canadians dropped the track yesterday on Soundcloud and it has already stirred up a lot of controversy. The “Hey There Delilah” cover had some people thinking that Drizzy’s voice was just AI, especially because of how the vocals are mixed. However, this song is in fact the real deal and people started to catch one once they figured out what Snowd4y does.

“Wah Gwan Delilah” is clearly here just to troll and run up the streams to get people debating online. So far that is exactly what is happening. In 15 hours, the song has racked up over 228,000 plays. Given the opposite statures of Drake and Snowd4y many have been expectedly surprised that this even reality. However, the latter would tell you otherwise, according to this interview below.

Snowd4y Saw The Potential In A Drake Feature For “Wah Gwan Delilah”

In a resurfaced clip dug up by Drake stan, DJ Akademiks, it sees Snowd4y being asked about if he would want a big-time feature for “Wah Gwan”. The interviewers threw Drake’s name into the conversation and that did intrigue him. However, he would only want him if he was going to come in “neatly” or not with some “soft s***”. While we would not say he came in like a “demon”, he certainly brought a hilarious tongue in cheek performance that surely Kendrick fans will never let him forget.

What are your thoughts on Snowd4y speaking about possibly wanting a Drake feature for “Wah Gwan Delilah”? Did you think this was AI at first, why or why not? Why do you think Drizzy said yes to this collab, especially losing the battle to Kendrick Lamar? Do you enjoy the song, or is it just trying to hard to be funny? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Snowd4y and Drake. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on in the music world.
