Future & Metro Boomin’s “We Don’t Like You” Debuts Atop Billboard 200

Future and Metro Boomin’s new collaborative album, We Don’t Like You, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 251,000 equivalent album units. The figure marks the most successful sales week for any music project thus far in 2024.

When XXL shared the news on Instagram, fans celebrated the success of their favorites in the comments section. “It was a good body of work no doubt,” one fan wrote. “I’m a fan of all the ones beefing so we getting good music overall!! Ion know none of them personally so ain’t no side choosing lol…just give us some [fire emoji] tracks.” Another added: “Metro has separated himself from any other beat maker or producer in dis album …and FURURE did his thing as always…” Others credited Kendrick Lamar’s feature on the chart-topping track, “Like That,” for the project’s overall success. “Only thing I hear about that album is Kendrick diss. The “You Broke My Heart” rapper’s latest muse, Sexyy Red, has undoubtedly seen a boom in her career. Their time on the road, recorded collaboration (“Rich Baby Daddy“), and flirty energy have made them a fun fixture for music fans. However, Joe Budden doesn’t believe any of it.

On March 28, the podcaster told his co-hosts that he believes Drake is secretly “getting paid to promote Sexyy Red.” Budden’s criticism didn’t stop there. He went on to say that he also doubts the fawned-over friendship presented by the entertainers online.

Although another member of the panel quickly agreed. Trevor “Queenzflip” Robinson pushed back. “Quick, real, quick, real quick, you said this ‘paid on somebody’s deal,’” he said. “Is this confirmed, or is this just some inside sh*t that you are saying?”

Budden quickly snapped: “Oh, you think [Drake] just likes being around Sexyy Red?”

The truth is yet to be determined. But given the extravagant gifts, including cash and lavish purses, Drake gave to Sexyy Red and his appearance in her recent “Get It Sexyy,” they seem to be fine in their friendship.

“I took back my criticism of you because it definitely clicked in my mind that I definitely wasn’t getting my point about the ways in which insidious people in corporate culture where positioning you to push demeaning initiatives, but sis your handle is ‘lizzo be eating.’ …. You’ve definitely given the public license to laugh at and with you by twerking at the Burger King counter and bathing in a tub of skittles,” Banks wrote. “Self-deprecation was certainly the aesthetic you chose to introduce yourself with. So I don’t see why you’d play victim rather than just stop intentionally inviting people to make jokes about that. You’re a beautiful girl, with a handle on music theory, Grammy awards and tons of success, just change the narrative and go high brow philharmonic on these h**’s and collab with ryuchi sakamoto.”
