Big Sean’s New Album Will Sample Three 6 Mafia

Of course, his “Precision” single hasn’t landed on streaming services quite yet.
As HipHopDX reports, the father of one gave us a taste of what’s to come on his upcoming album on Thursday (August 31). A minute-long preview of the unreleased song appeared in the new trailer for NBA 2K24‘s The City game mode. It’s set to release on September 8 and will honour Kobe Bryant with a tribute on the cover. Throughout the “Precision” teaser, fans can hear elements from Three 6 Mafia’s “Poppin’ My Collar,” which first landed back in 2005, helping to add more apple to Sean’s lyricism.

Last year, Roc Marciano and The Alchemist collaborated for one of 2022’s best rap albums: The Elephant Man’s Bones. Quavo Rushed By Fans While Stopped In Traffic
Quavo is taking a victory lap of sorts following the release of his highly-anticipated new album Rocket Power. The project saw the former Migos rapper getting raw and vulnerable on his feelings about fellow Migos member Takeoff’s murder. Fans connected with his vulnerability and praised the album quite a bit. While it achieved critical success, it was a bit of a slip in terms of commercial sales following his previous solo album and collaborative project with Takeoff. The project sold 34k in its first week and debuted at number 18 on the Billboard 200.
Now Quavo is having an interaction directly with some of his fans. Video hit the internet of the rapper stopped in traffic with some fans gathered outside the window of his car. In the hilarious clip, the fans and even other passing drivers pull out their phones to film the surprise interaction, which the rapper seems to find quite amusing. Rocket Power has features from Takeoff, Future, Young Thug, BabyDrill, and Hunxho. It’s spawned a hit song in “Turn Yo Clic Up” with Future and another budding hit in “Patty Cake” with Takeoff. Earlier this week, Quavo caused some concern with fans when he tweeted about being back on Xanax. But in an interview a few days later he clarified that he was merely quoting lyrics from his album that expressed his state of mind following Takeoff’s passing.
Quavo’s assistant and Takeoff’s mother have both sued the bowling alley where the late rapper was murdered last year. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Danny Brown opened up about his sobriety journey. The performer went to rehab earlier this year, and has since developed a new outlook on both life and death. Brown says that he used to be afraid of dying, but no longer fears it. He described coming to peace with the idea of dying now that he’s sober, claiming that the inevitable will happen at the right time.
“I was scared of this sh*t,” he told the outlet. “Now, I just look at it like, ‘Man, when it’s the time, it’s the time.’ It’s almost like life is a school, and when you die, it’s graduation. When the higher power is ready for you to graduate, you’ll graduate. And obviously, I haven’t done what I’m supposed to here.”

Brown got out of rehab back in May, taking to his his podcast, The Danny Brown Show, to share his experience. “I will say, man, being in treatment and all that sh*t, one thing it did do, it humbled the f*ck out of me,” the artist explained. “Like a lot of these muthaf*ckas, man, that’s in there, you know, they had drinking problems, drug problems and all that sh*t, they got to go back to work. They gotta go and work a real regular 9-to-5 job, like, you know, I have one of the best jobs in the f**king world, man. And so, I was taking a lot of s**t for granted, man. So I will say, man, like, I’m back. Your boy is back.”
