Khalid has been among Sheeran’s many openers, but he was forced to miss Saturday’s (June 24) show at FedExField in Landover, Maryland.
A fan video making the rounds online captured Sheeran opening for himself and explaining he was on stage earlier than expected because Khalid “got in a car accident this week.”
Sheeran continued, “He’s recovering, and we wish him the best. And I’m gonna say this after every song because if people don’t know I was gonna be the opening act today, people are gonna be walking in, like, ‘This show isn’t what I thought it was. I thought there’d be more fireworks.’ But here we are. I’m basically playing songs from – (Subtract).”
A separate TikTok shows Sheeran enjoying his unusual slot as an opener because “when you’re the main act, there’s a bunch of pressure because people have paid to see you” and joking that the last time he was an opener, MySpace was still popular.
According to Complex, Sheeran concluded his opening set by adding, “I really hope Khalid gets well soon and that he’ll be joining us in Boston.” The record-settingMathematics Tour is scheduled to hit Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts for back-to-back shows on Friday, June 30, and Saturday, July 1.
As of this writing, Billboardhas reached out to Khalid’s representation for further details but is awaiting response.

T.I. met up with Quavo and Offset backstage at the 2023 BET Awards on Sunday night at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. While speaking with the two Migos artists, he praised their tribute to Takeoff from the event.
“That sh*t there was Goddamn monumental,” T.I. told the rappers. “That’s something they gonna be talking about ten years from now.” The group continued sharing praise and smiling with one another.

Despite the moment, fans theorized that Quavo and Offset still aren’t on good terms following their rumored beef. When the clip was shared by TheHipHopWolf on Instagram, one user commented, “You can tell Quavo and offset still not cool,” while another wrote, “They were told to do it. They didnt want too. Its clearly obvious.”
Another user had a more positive spin on the situation. They wrote: “Regardless of the fact if they still fucc with each other or not, they came together for a moment for the better good. they made have not spent their last moments together as a trio, but we know them as the migos. they understood what needed to be done. it could be a step in the right direction or it could be the end, who knows. but let’s just appreciate the moment, cause they didn’t have to do it, but they did.” Quavo and Offset also recently met up to celebrate Takeoff’s birthday.
As for the performance, Quavo and Offset performed the track, “Hotel Lobby,” before a massive image of Takeoff appeared on the screen behind them. The two also performed the Migos’ hit, “Bad and Boujee.” It was their first time taking the stage together since Takeoff’s death, last November.
The Idol has been one of the most provocative shows released in quite some time. Overall, it is also extremely polarizing. The themes of this show are quite disturbing at times. Moreover, there seems to be no filter as it pertains to showing off these themes. Not to mention, The Weeknd’s acting has received much scrutiny. Throughout the first three episodes, fans have progressively been turned off by the show’s direction. This is especially true after it was revealed that Tedros would begin to abuse Jocelyn as a means of getting better songs out of her. In Episode 4, titled “Stars Belong To The World,” the show continues down its troubling trajectory.
Jocelyn’s Reinvention
Episode 4 begins with Mike Dean’s arrival at Jocelyn’s house. It is here where Tedros is able to attempt to deliver on his promise of some mega hits. In the last episode, Chaim made it clear that time is of the essence, and subsequently, Tedros is making an effort to deliver. However, while all this takes place, Destiny tells Chaim that she has found some information on the mysterious nightclub owner. Essentially, he has been to prison for kidnapping and torturing his ex-girlfriend. These details are provided to us as Joss continues to record a new song that speaks about her and Tedros’ relationship dynamics.
From there, Chaim asks Destiny to watch over the house over the coming days. There is a real sense that Tedros is spelling trouble for their star, and they want to grasp what’s happening. As soon as Destiny gets in the house, she becomes acquainted with Chloe, who lets it slip that she is underage. Furthermore, Destiny reveals that she is an incredible singer and even a vocal coach of sorts. This eventually leads her to give Joss some pointers on her latest song. Subsequently, we get the cringiest scene in the whole series thus far. Once again, this is another instance of us telling you to watch the show, as any description of these actions is NSFW. Amid all this, we find out that Dyanne got signed to Joss’ record label and is now being given World Class Sinner.
The Idol Becomes A Parody Of Itself
During these next few scenes, we get some truly ridiculous settings that are meant to shock the audience and really nothing else. While showering, Jocelyn’s creative director Xander begins to sing. Tedros was watching him the whole time and eventually asks why he never told anyone about his talent. We are subsequently told that Xander had a vocal chord injury and gave up singing. Tedros then convinces the young man to join Joss’ team of singers. Although due to Tedros’ suspicions that he is a liar, he forces Xander to wear a shock collar. Xander tries to escape, but Izaak and others pin Xander down. This then leads to an argument between Joss and Xander, who claims that the pop star’s mom made him sign a contract vowing never to sing again.
Of course, Jocelyn tells Tedros that Xander is lying and forces her new beau to shock her longtime friend. Eventually, Xander can’t take it anymore and says he won’t “lie” anymore. This entire passage just feels like the show becoming a parody of itself and does very little to advance the plot. The same can be said of the following scene in which Joss admits to Destiny that she knows Tedros has been to prison. However, she naively claims that it is because many women lied about him being their pimp. As you can imagine, Destiny is less than enthused by all of this.
Jocelyn Goes Public
In the last third of Episode 4 of The Idol, Tedros gets Jocelyn to go public with the abuse she faced. Joss does just that through an Instagram Live video in which she gets very emotional. However, that same night, she hosts a huge party at her mansion that eventually devolves into a complete mess. For instance, Tedros yells at Leia and embarrasses her. This finally gets Jocelyn to speak up, much to Tedros’s dismay. Things get worse for Tedros as Dyanne shows up to the party, and Jocelyn learns about her and Tedros’s history.
Jocelyn is clearly hurt by this information and texts her ex-boyfriend Rob, who is a famous actor. He shows up at the house, and Tedros confronts him with a “drink-off.” Rob wins the competition as Tedros becomes a jealous and pathetic mess. Joss then takes Rob up to her room, where they have sex. Tedros is standing outside the bedroom door, listening to it all occur. He has tears in his eyes, and it is the first time in the show that he genuinely cracks.
Finally, the episode ends with Xander and a woman trapping Rob in a compromising position. The woman asks to take a photo with Rob and makes the picture sexual against his wishes. He leaves the house, and Xander makes it clear to the woman that they will use the photo against him. Effectively making The Idol just Euphoria with grown adults.

It’s Monday once again, and while most of the world is back at their 9-5, YNW Melly is back in court for his double murder trial. Proceedings officially began earlier this month in Broward County, several years after the young rapper turned himself into the police. Things initially seemed to be going in Melly’s favour, however, evidence submitted last week shows alleged texts between the 23-year-old and his mother, Jamie King, in which he asked her to bring him a gun around the time of YNW Juvy and YNW SakChaser’s deaths.
Detective Danny Polo, who’s incredibly familiar with Melly’s case, took the stand ahead of the weekend as a witness for the prosecution. At the time, he donned a court-sanctioned ski mask to help conceal his identity out of concern for his family. However, according to Law & Crime, one of the jury members expressed an issue with this in a note to Judge John Murphy III. When court resumed this morning (June 26), correspondent Bryson “Boom” Paul shared on Twitter that Polo will be removing his mask for the remainder of his testimony.

Since Judge Murphy’s ruling, the defense has hardly made objections, though Melly’s attorney did speak out when what sounds like his voice was played in an audio recording of a phone call. According to Polo’s testimony, he believes that the Florida native was being recruited by two separate G-Shine Bloods gang members.
While listening to the call, the undercover detective shared that he’s “listened to hours of Melly’s music, watched music videos, and listened to jail phone calls,” making him one of the strongest witnesses we’ve seen take the stand so far.

The newest twist in the long-running legal drama for Young Thug and the YSL RICO case has arrived. Young Thug’s lawyer has reportedly filed a massive new motion to have many of the charges thrown out. The reason for the motion is a claim that anything accused of happening more than 5 years before the arrest date is invalid. This is due to the statute of limitations on the RICO laws that were used to arrest almost 30 people associated with YSL. The motion requests that any charge related to something that happened 5 years before Thugger’s arrest be thrown out.
In the wake of this news breaking many fans thought similar things. Namely, why did this take so long to come out? In a trial that has been ongoing for over a year now it seems to many like this legal maneuver should have come a long time ago. Coi Leray paid tribute to many of the women in hip-hop at the 2023 BET Awards on Sunday with her outfit. While taking the stage to celebrate Busta Rhymes’ Lifetime Achievement Award, Leray rocked a white and black outfit featuring the names of several female artists.

For the performance, Leray rapped her hit song, “Players,” which she remixed with Busta, earlier this year. Busta also hopped on stage to perform several of his most popular songs and verses from over the years. They included MOP’s “Ante Up” and A Tribe Called Quest’s “Scenario” remixes as well as Chris Brown’s “Look At Me Now,” and more.
When Busta Rhymes accepted the Lifetime Achievement Award, he broke down into tears. “All right. So, I’m going to wear it on my sleeve. I do want to cry,” Rhymes began before taking a long moment to let his emotions loose. He continued: “I’m going to say I am grateful that the blessing that has been bestowed upon me and this gift that I have been given and this fire that continues to burn as a passion in my soul, that allows me to get into any situation — from the stage to collabing with whoever — and making sure that I am far from the weak link. Because I enjoy walking away from a situation saying, ‘I bust ass!’”
