Why Did Doja Cat Shave Her Head?

Doja Cat is back. Her new single, “Attention,” is out, and she just announced The Scarlet Tour. The musician is still rocking the short hair look, which first came about when she shaved her head in August of 2022.

On an Instagram Live debuting the haircut that month, she explained, “I don’t like having hair. I’ve never liked having hair. I cannot tell you one time, since the beginning of my life, that I’ve ever been like, ‘This is cool.’ I just do not like to have hair.”

She added, “I just can’t believe that it took me this long to be like, ‘Shave your f*cking head.’ Because first of all, I don’t wear my hair out. You guys have seen me wear my natural hair out… I had like two eras. I had like two eras where my hair would be out. I would straighten it. There was a moment where it was natural and then I don’t even wear it natural ’cause I don’t feel like it, and then… it’s just a f*ckin’ nightmare, dude. I’m over it. I’m gonna… I’m really liking this. What is the use of having hair if you’re not gonna f*ckin’ wear it out? I don’t even sport it.”

Los Angeles Lakers Rookie Takes Fun Shot At LeBron James

The Los Angeles Lakers came up just short of pulling off a miracle season. The team battled injuries all season long. Including top players like LeBron James and Anthony Davis missing time. However, the team found its groove right at the start of the 2023 NBA Playoffs. The Lakers tallied two series victories before falling in the Western Conference Finals. Although the season didn’t end the way they hoped. The 2022-23 campaign wasn’t a complete failure.

Now the Lakers are in the same boat as everyone else. Every team in the league is looking for the right recipe to slow down Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets. The road to the NBA Finals started with the 2023 NBA Draft. The Lakers introduced the newest members of their squad on Monday. As for Jalen Hood-Schifino, he is already jokingly taking pokes at the bear. Hood-Schifino was only seven days old when LeBron was drafted in 2003. A fact that the media just had to bring up during Hood-Schifino’s first press conference.

Los Angeles Lakers Ready For Another Deep Playoff Run

Hood-Schifino said he had heard that fact before. “I did see that post on ESPN. I was like ‘Dang, LeBron’s old!” Did he just call LeBron old? Yes, he did. But this time, it was all in good fun. The rookie knows how iconic James is to the league and what he brings to the franchise. We know what happens if you call James old with malice behind your words. You get eliminated from the playoffs and then ran off your own team. Maybe Dillon Brooks will think twice the next time.

It’s no secret that the sands in the hourglass are fewer and fewer for James. On Monday, fans celebrated the 20 anniversary of the 2003 NBA Draft class. A class filled with talent from top to bottom. However, James isn’t worried about age, he’s worried about chasing another ring. A fifth to add to his already massive trophy room. Question is, can James and the Lakers reach the mountaintop one more time? Let us know what you think in the comment section. For the latest news in sports, keep it right here with HNHH.

Victor Wembanyama Asks Advice From Spurs Legends

Victor Wembanayma will need to make an immediate impact when he plays his first season in the NBA. The amount of praise on the newest number-one overall pick has him destined for greatness. However, saying someone is great and them being great are two separate things. But it feels like Wembanyama knows that. On Tuesday, a video was dropped on social media showing the French star already putting in the work in the gym. However, that is the only place to find success.

Numerous Spurs legends joined Wembanyama for a dinner recently in San Antonio. The franchise is already one of the more storied organizations in the league. With help from every guy who joined Wemby for the Dinner. A picture was snapped, including all the legends in attendance. The attendees were Sean Elliot, Manu Ginobili, David Robinson, and Team Duncan. On Tuesday, Elliot was a guest on The Dan Patrick Show. The Spurs legend shared what Wembanyama asked the table of legends.

Victor Wembanyama Already Wise Beyond His Years

When discussing what Wembanyama wanted to ask, Elliot was taken aback. “He asked us, ‘How can you get enough sleep on the road.’ What kind of young person asks that question? Most guys are like, ‘Hey, what’s the best club to go to in Philly or NY.” I would have most definitely been asking those later questions when I was 18 years old. However, Wembanyama is already turning heads with his maturity level at such a young age.

Even during the draft JJ Redick praised Wembanyama on his maturity and being able to handle himself. The rookie phenom was a recent guest on Redick’s podcast leading up to the draft. Now the time for talk is over. The Spurs will soon be hitting the court for Summer League. Of course, fans will get their first glimpse at the league’s newest sensation. However, the team has yet to announce how many games he will participate in this summer. For the latest news in sports, keep it right here with HNHH.

Spirits Company Diageo Ends Association With Diddy Amid Lawsuit

Recently Diddy sued Diageo, a spirits company that he’s been partnered with. The lawsuit claims that the company was “unwilling to treat its black partners equally.” Now according to Fader, the company has announced that they’re cutting ties with Diddy amid the ongoing lawsuit. Diddy’s suit also claims that the company sidelined “black brands” despite aiming to be an industry leader in diversity. A spokesperson for Diageo made a statement to The Independent. “Mr Combs’s bad-faith actions have clearly breached his contracts and left us no choice but to move to dismiss his baseless complaint and end our business relationship,” she said.

Diddy has been in the news for a variety of different reasons this month. For Father’s Day, he posted an emotional tribute to his late father that many fans found touching. He was also given an Apollo Icon award at the Apollo Theater’s spring benefit earlier in the month. Diddy was honored at the event alongside Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Warby Parker.

Diddy And Diageo Cut Ties

All month Diddy has been dealing with the ongoing fallout from his son Justin Combs’ arrest. He was arrested and charged with a DUI at the start of June. In the aftermath, he and Justin’s mother Misa Hylton have engaged in an ongoing battle of words and blame for the incident. Back in May, Diddy teamed up with Fabolous and City Girls for a new single. “Act Bad” became not just a song but a theme for many to adopt this summer. It’s the second new single he’s been a part of this year following a remix of Metro Boomin’s hit song “Creepin’.”

In another unfortunate public turn for Diddy, he found himself trending on Twitter for bad reasons. People were reflecting on the bad behavior he displayed during his decades in the public eye. One tweet, in particular, went viral for predicting a “Surviving Diddy” documentary could be made similarly to R. Kelly’s. What do you think of the newest development in Diddy’s legal drama with Diageo? Let us know in the comment section below.

Dallas Mavericks Rookies On Playing With Luka Doncic

The Dallas Mavericks had a frustrating end to the 2022-23 season. A team that was filled with great talent failed to reach the postseason. Not just great talent, but two of the greatest offensive weapons in the game today. It felt like Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving could never cook up the perfect recipe in late-game situations. The season was a failure, and now the future of Irving in Dallas seems to be unknown. However, now is the time to look ahead to a better future.

The Mavericks made two selections in the first round of the 2023 NBA Draft. With those selections, the team chose Duke’s Dereck Lively and Marquette’s Olivier-Maxence Prosper. The franchise is excited to bring in more young talent. But the hope is to surround them with veteran leadership like Irving and Doncic. On Monday, the Mavericks introduced their rookies to the local media. Both young men are excited about the opportunity. However, they’re also excited about one new teammate in particular.

Dallas Mavericks Young Stars Ready For The Challenge

When asked about the opportunity to play alongside Luka, Prosper had this to say, “Luka’s one of the best players in the world. Just playing with a guy like that, it’s just amazing. You can learn so much from a guy like that. He’s an unselfish player. He’s a player that loves to pass — loves to create. I’m just excited to be able to play with a guy like that, learn from him, and just compliment him.” Both rookies seemed thrilled to be paired with such a high-caliber player like Doncic.

The offensive side of the ball was not an issue last season for the Mavericks. The team showcased their offensive weapons on a nightly basis. However, stopping the other team from scoring was the main concern. Now Lively and Prosper will need to bring a strong defensive game to the table to make a quick impact. Does the future look bright in Dallas? Let us know what you think about the Mavericks draft picks in our comment section. For the latest news in sports, keep it right here with HNHH.

Angela Bassett To Receive Honorary Oscar

One of the most popular parts of the Oscars is the discussion of who hasn’t won one yet. One of those that many fans believe is well overdue for an award is actress Angela Bassett. She’s been nominated for the Best Actress Oscar twice though didn’t win either. The first came in 1994 when she was nominated for What’s Love Got To Do With It. Her role in that film led to a win for Best Actress at the Golden Globes. She was nominated for a second time at the Oscars last year for her role in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. For the second time, she didn’t win the award despite winning the same award at the Golden Globes.

Now, Angela Bassett is finally set to get her Oscar though not in the way many fans may have hoped. She’s set to receive an honorary Oscar during this year’s Governors Awards. She’ll be honored alongside Mel Brooks, Michelle Satter, and Carol Littleton. In their statement announcing the honorees the Oscars included a statement about why Bassett was nominated. “Angela Bassett has continued to deliver transcendent performances that set new standards in acting.”

Angela Bassett’s Long-Awaited Oscar

Earlier this year when Bassett lost to Jamie Lee Curtis at the Oscars fans were shocked. One of those fans was SZA who said that realizing Basset didn’t have an Oscar made her want to “knock sh*t over.” Both Jonathan Majors and Michael B. Jordan also also acknowledged the reported snub publicly following the award show.

Many other actors and actresses are seen by fans as deserving of an Oscar. For years both Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt were major examples of stars who had never taken home the award. DiCaprio finally won the award for Best Actor in 2016 for his role in the survival movie The Revenant. A few years later Brad Pitt finally won his as well. He took home the Best Supporting Actor award in 2020 for his role in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. What do you think of Angela Bassett’s long-awaited Oscar? Let us know in the comment section below.

Rapper Casanova Sentenced To 15 Years In Prison For Racketeering And Narcotics Offenses

casanova

The United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced that recording artist Caswell Senior, a/k/a “Casanova,” was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge Philip M. Halpern to 188 months in prison for racketeering and narcotics offenses arising out of his leadership role in the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation Bloods Gang (“Gorilla Stone”).

The U.S. attorney’s press release reads:

As part of the racketeering conspiracy, Senior participated in a shooting in Florida on July 5, 2020, and a robbery in New York City on August 5, 2018, and conspired to traffic over 100 kilograms of marijuana.

U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said: “Caswell Senior is not just a notorious recording artist, but he is also a high-profile leader of a vicious street gang and a magnet for gang violence.  At a crowded Miami house party, Senior personally fired a gun that seriously injured and could have killed a victim, inciting a shootout.  Further, Senior’s stature in the community was central to Gorilla Stone’s successful recruitment and nationwide expansion.  Today’s sentencing — along with the other significant sentences that have been imposed in this case — shows once again that gang life is not worth it and will lead to many years in prison.”

According to the Indictment, public court filings, and statements made in court:

Since at least 2004, Gorilla Stone has been a brutally violent street gang with a national presence that was founded by SENIOR’s co-defendant Dwight Reid, a/k/a “Dick Wolf.”  Gorilla Stone has many members across New York State, including throughout New York City, Westchester, and the New York State Prison System, and all over the country — such as in Florida, where SENIOR engaged in substantial criminal conduct.  Gorilla Stone is comprised of various sets (or “Caves,” as they are called by gang members).  Gorilla Stone is a highly organized and efficient street gang with an organizational commitment to violence that strictly enforces its internal laws.

SENIOR’s Gorilla Stone co-defendants were charged with a host of crimes committed in furtherance of their joint enterprise.  Some of the charges against Gorilla Stone members include racketeering conspiracy, various frauds, a large-scale narcotics conspiracy that SENIOR actively participated in, myriad firearms offenses, and numerous acts of violence, including a daytime murder of a juvenile in the middle of a Poughkeepsie street; multiple attempted murders and shootings, including two in Florida in which SENIOR was involved; a gunpoint drug-related robbery; and a brutal slashing.

For over a decade, SENIOR participated in and was associated with the Gorilla Stone racketeering conspiracy.  SENIOR was a powerful, respected, high-profile member of the gang.  SENIOR admitted that he was an organizer or leader of a criminal activity that involved five or more participants.  SENIOR joined the gang while incarcerated over a decade ago and has remained an active member ever since, including upon his release from custody from a prior case in 2013.

As part of the racketeering activity, on or about July 5, 2020, while in Florida for a gang member’s birthday, SENIOR shot a gun at a gang member with whom he was having a gambling dispute, hitting one gang member in the leg/calf area and a second, different gang member in the foot when the bullet ricocheted.  A victim suffered serious bodily injury because of the shooting and was treated at a Miami-area hospital for a gunshot wound to the foot.  Thereafter, other party attendees, including a member of Gorilla Stone, discharged multiple firearms.

Additionally, as part of an August 5, 2018, robbery at a Manhattan diner that SENIOR participated in, a victim was restrained and suffered serious bodily injury.  The robbery started when SENIOR appeared to believe that a female victim took a photo of him from the booth where the victim was sitting.  SENIOR then proceeded to forcefully take the victim’s cellphone.  SENIOR’s gang member associate then came up behind the victim and put her in a headlock until she fell to the floor unconscious from lack of oxygen.

SENIOR further agreed to traffic at least 100 kilograms of marijuana.  During an approximately nine-month period, SENIOR was responsible for distributing between 100 kilograms and 400 kilograms of his personally branded “2x” marijuana.
Thoughts?
