Drake’s “Dark Lane Demo Tapes” Turns 3: Stream “Chicago Freestyle” Feat. Giveon To Celebrate

If there’s anyone who’s been feeding their fans quality work with consistency over the past few years, it’s Drake. 2022 saw the arrival of both Honestly, Nevermind and Her Loss with 21 Savage, both of which will be performed on the duo’s quickly approaching (and highly-priced) It’s All A Blur tour. Before that, in 2020 he boosted the mood amid the COVID-19 pandemic with 14 new titles on Dark Lane Temo Tapes. Today (May 1), that project is celebrating its third anniversary, giving you the perfect excuse to revisit it on DSPs.

If you don’t have time to stream the nearly 50-minute-long effort, we suggest revisiting one of the most popular titles from the tracklist, “Chicago Freestyle,” which is always guaranteed to invoke plenty of emotion thanks to Giveon’s beautiful vocals. Of course, Champagne Papi also does his thing over the Noel Cadastre and Sevn Thomas-produced beat, chiefly reflecting on the most important lessons he’s learned throughout his years spent climbing to the top of the charts, and the industry.

Revisit Drake and Giveon’s “Chicago Freestyle”

Aside from that joint track, Drake also worked with several other friends on DLDT. Chris Brown came through for “Not You Too,” while he and Future made magic together on “Desires.” Other familiar voices we hear include Young Thug, Playboi Carti, Fivio Foreign, and Sosa Geek. As for solo songs, some of the 36-year-old’s highest-streamed work on this project is “Toosie Slide,” “War,” and “From Florida With Love.”

Even with all of the aforementioned releases, the father of one has been teasing even more coming our way in the near future on social media. It remains unclear when, or what, he plans to drop next, but we’ll certainly keep you posted as we find out more. Nike Air More Uptempo “Buff Gold” Unveiled

One of the more unique sneakers to ever be released by Nike would have to be the Nike Air More Uptempo. Overall, this is a shoe that is not for everyone. Although there are people who love this shoe, you have to understand that it also has its fair share of haters. It is very easy to understand why this is the case. Just looking at it, you realize that it is big and bulky. Additionally, the bubble writing on the sides isn’t exactly for everyone. However, it is a staple of the 90s that continues to be a cult classic.

Subsequently, the shoe has continued to get new colorways over the years. Sometimes, the sneaker is subjected to dope retros. Meanwhile, on other occasions we see this shoe receiving some very unique new offerings. Regardless of what your tastes are, Nike is trying to give everyone something they can enjoy. Consequently, this has led to some very cool releases with the summer on the horizon. For instance, we have official images of the “Buff Gold” Nike Air More Uptempo, below.

As you can see in the images above and below, this colorway definitely lives up to its name. Firstly, the whole upper is made with a unique shade of gold. The material here is leather, and overall, the shoe has a nice hue to it. This gold is a bit muted, and not as flashy as some may expect. However, it still goes over nicely. This is especially true as we get a white chunky midsole that provides some nice contrast from the “Buff Gold.”

At the time of writing this, the Nike Air More Uptempo “Buff Gold” does not have a release date. However, we do know that it will cost $170 USD. Rick Ross Responds As Neighbors Try To Shut Down His Car Show

Rick Ross has responded to reports that his neighbors are trying to shut down his car show. The Maybach Music Group founder addressed the complaints during a video on his Instagram Story, over the weekend.

“I wouldn’t even feel right if they wasn’t boycotting,” he said while adding that he “never got nothing easy.” He continued: “It was never handed to me… I would be confused if they wasn’t boycotting the boss.” Users had mixed responses to Ross’ defense. “All his neighbors old heads.. they want quiet and peace around their homes,” one fan commented. “Not over 6500 folks bringing that noise, traffic and raquet to their block.” Another joked, “I guess it is another level of wealth when you don’t need to have neighbors.”

WSB-TV reports that Ross’ neighbors previously went to the Fayette County Board of Commissioners in Georgia to complain that last year’s car show brought dead-stop traffic in the area. During a board meeting, several community members revealed that they’ve already signed petitions to have the event shut down. “I have the petitions here that we signed,” one person told the board. “We feel locked out. It took me 40 minutes to get out of my subdivision,” one homeowner told the publication.

It isn’t the first time that Ross has had trouble with his neighbors. Back in March, some of the rapper’s buffaloes wandered into a neighbor’s yard. “To everybody that’s wanting a statement or response for my bulls, my cows, couple buffaloes that got away in the community, this is my response,” he said at the time. “I always return stray animals. Make sure you always keep a collar on your animals. Mine don’t have a collar cause’ you know, its mine so when you see my buffalo, give it a carrot. Give it a apple. Alicia Keys Invites Ralph Yarl To Upcoming Kansas Show

Alicia Keys is doing her part to help injured teen Ralph Yarl feel seen. The “No One” singer has invited Yarl to her July concert date in Kansas. According to the boy’s attorney Lee Merritt, Keys has said that she would love to meet him at the show, as well. The singer’s offer was extended as part of a huge wave of support for the teen in recent weeks. In addition to Alicia Keys’ offer, TMZ says Roc Nation has even reached out and offered to support in any way they can.

For those unfamiliar, Ralph Yarl is a black 16-year-old who was shot several weeks ago by an elderly white homeowner. The assailant, Andrew Lester, is 86 years old. He is accused of shooting Yarl in the head and arm after the teen rang the man’s doorbell. Ralph went to the wrong address while attempting to pick up his siblings, according to the police and Ralph’s family. The homeowner allegedly shot the teenager through a locked glass door without exchanging words because he believed the teenager was attempting to break in and was “scared to death” by the boy’s size. Luckily for Yarl, this is one instance where there may be a happy outcome. He is on his way to recovery and seems to be fully functioning, despite being shot in the head.

Alicia Keys’ Promotes Activism And Awareness

Alicia Keys is no stranger to activism or giving a platform to the voiceless. She is a supporter of many charities, including foundations fighting against AIDS and promoting awareness of the need for change. It’s no surprise that the famed singer would reach out to Ralph Yarl. Keys’ charity work, while well known, may come as a shock to some. Though she gives to more than 30 charities and speaks out on many issues, she is often in the headlines for her lavish celebrity lifestyle. However, Alicia Keys’ is one celebrity who really puts her money where her mouth is.

In addition to giving to charity, Keys often speaks out through art and other means. She was recently featured on Janelle Monaé’s “Say Her Name,” a 17-minute song bringing awareness to the unlawful and unnecessary murders of black women like Sandra Bland and Breonna Taylor. The song also features the likes of Beyoncé, Tierra Whack, and Chloe Bailey. Thankfully, this instance of unnecessary violence against black youth may lead to both justice and a happy ending for Yarl. Additionally, with people like Alicia Keys and labels like Roc Nation supporting him, Yarl might have an even brighter future ahead than he could have imagined.
