Smoke DZA & The Smokers Club Drop New Album “Money For Dummies”

Smoke DZA just released a new album, Money For Dummies, right before 2023 rolls around. Still, it follows a run of great releases this year like his October project 10,000 HRS. Moreover, he released it along with his brand The Smokers Club and the announcement of a new record label. Furthermore, this album matches that excitement with a great set of tracks.

Meanwhile, the brand’s co-founder Jonny Shipes announced the inception of Smokers Club Records in 2023 via Instagram.

“Earlier this year Me, DZA & Bubz sat down & mapped out the next phases & goals of The Smokers Club,” Jonny wrote. “When we took a step back & looked at how we started the Club & what influenced us since the beginning, it always came back to Great Music & Smoking Great Weed.

“Over the years We’ve done some Legendary tours & festivals, launched a clothing line & cannabis brand,” he continued. “We have had a great run these past 12 years. All 3 of us started out making music so it was only right goin into ‘23 we launch Smokers Club Records.”

Likewise, this new album from Smoke DZA offers what he’s best at. Tracks such as the single “Park Bench Blues” are perfect examples of his hazy delivery, era-fusing production, and lyrical skill. While the subject matter is consistent and familiar, the tightly packed tracklist offers plenty of instrumental variety. Moreover, there’s the drumless-influenced title track, the soulful “Quarter Million $ Mattress,” and the bass-heavy banger “What Would Push Do.”

However, the Harlem MC and his producers aren’t the only ones impressing listeners on this album. Curren$y and Bizzle both deliver engaging wordplay and provide compelling atmosphere on their tracks that matches well with DZA’s flow.

Ludacris Inspires Fans With New Year’s Eve Video

Ludacris has been living his best life in recent years. After taking a break from music, the Atlanta bred star took his talents to the big screen and behind the camera.

As 2022 comes to an end, the “Move” rapper penned a motivational message for fans while lounging in a hot tub in the snow. “Cheers to 2023,” he shared. “Wishing everybody love, peace, happiness, and challenging y’all to do some new sh*t in the new year that you ain’t never did before. I love y’all. Cheers.” The caption reads: “Let The Past Be The PAST.”

Ludacris is jo stranger to trying to new things. Earlier this year, he earned an honorary Bachelor of Science in Music Management degree at Georgia State University.  He also made a seamless switch from rapping to acting when many people doubted his abilities. “When you come into it as a rapper,” he told Las Vegas Weekly, “people have a certain idea about you in the first place. So you have to go hard to not be looked at as some form of your regular everyday character.”

Last year, he created an animated series based on his eldest daughter, Karma. The Netflix series is based on real-life situations that Karma actually went through and tackles topics like self esteem. No stranger to encouraging others, Luda gave his 21-year old daughter advice on embracing her unique qualities as a young, Black girl.

“[I told her] there’s a creator that made us all with unique qualities, and you have to embrace those qualities — and that she comes from a long lineage of strong Black hair.”

As for his acting career, Luda says he likes to challenge people’s expectations of him. “I like to do the opposite of what people expect me to do” he told Las Vegas Weekly. “And I love doing that and continuing to grow and expand my acting résumé.”  Check out Luda’s end of the year inspo below.

Anderson .Paak Spent The Holidays By Making A Fake ‘Cribs’ Episode At His Mom’s Adorable House

Anderson .Paak celebrated the holidays with his family in a hilarious way: by making his mom a fake episode of MTV’s Cribs. After he bought her a four-bedroom house in Las Vegas in 2019, he enlisted photographer Isabel Ramos to help show off the special property.

The video, which .Paak posted on his Instagram, has the same classic Cribs logo and graphic style. “WAIT MY MOM WAS ON @mtv #CRIBS ?!?!? SICK!!!” he captioned.

His mother plays along in the skit, as she answers the door.

“Merry Christmas, Happy New Year,” she greets. “I’m Brenda, Anderson .Paak’s mother.”

From there, the video shows some family photos before jumping into a short reel of videos of .Paak’s career. “Come on into my humble abode,” Brenda welcomes.

“Let’s check out my living room, my kitchen, and my dining area,” she gestures. In typical mom fashion, she has vegan butter in the fridge and framed signs that read “But first, coffee” and “Wine a little, laugh a lot.” Brenda does some cooking in the process of filming.

In her home, she also supports her musician son with posters of Silk Sonic, his rug merch, and his snare drum collection. There are also loads of other surprises in the fun video as .Paak himself even makes an appearance.

Rich Homie Quan Details Working At Gucci Mane’s Studio

Rich Homie Quan says that Gucci Mane had a strict regimen for artists working at his studio in Atlanta. Speaking with HipHopDX, Quan says it’d feel like being “kidnapped” while recording there.

“Gucci had a studio of Moreland and Memorial in Atlanta,” he told the outlet. “That was the first time I met Migos as well. R.I.P. to Takeoff. We’d all be up there in this one room on the couch and Gucci would have three different rooms in there. I had met Thug then but the first song we recorded was ‘Get the Fuck Out My Face.’”

From there, he further explained: “Gucci gon’ kidnap you. [Gucci Mane] gon’ get you in and you gon’ do 10 songs before you’re able to go home. He got different producers pulling up he had like three rooms in the house. He may have Dun Deal upstairs, he may have Honorable C-Note in the other room.”

Quan first found mainstream commercial success in 2013 with the single, “Type of Way.” He further solidified his place in the Atlanta scene with “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh),” his collaboration with Young Thug, “Lifestyle,” and more. He also worked with Thug again on Travis Scott’s 2014 hit “Mamacita.”

Elsewhere in his interview with HipHopDX, Quan discussed working with Lil Dicky on the 2015 single, “$ave Dat Money.” In doing so, Quan compared the comedic rapper to Kanye West.

“His mind… he reminds me of a Kanye — and I say that in a good way,” he said. “Not Kanye Kanye, but perfectionist Kanye, you know what I’m saying?”

Westside Gunn Announces Plans To Retire From Rap – Again

Westside Gunn is no stranger to teasing his retirement. In 2019, he announced that 2021 would be his last year rapping, after confirming that he still planned to release his collaborative project with Madlib.

However, after a monumental year in 2020, it didn’t appear as though the Buffalo native would be slowing down anytime soon. In the first month of 2021, he backtracked on his previous claims.

On Friday (December 30), the Griselda frontman took to his Twitter account to get a lot off of his chest.

“23′ def my last year doing this sh*t, I don’t have nothing else 2prove, I put my team on, I put my city on, I worked w/everybody I ever wanted to work with, plus MFs still don’t even understand 1-10, FLYGOD, Awesome GOD, or Pray for Paris (mind u Virgil did the cover),” he wrote in the first tweet in a string of others.

After flexing all of the artists he’s worked with over the past few years, including Kanye, Tyler, The Creator and Lil Wayne, he goes on to explain his reasoning. “I know I say I’m a retire all the time so ppl might be like he always say this, seriously I been thru so much with this sh*t behind closed doors y’all would never know, it’s brought more pain than joy[.] I’m just so G that I make it look super easy but I fight these devils everyday,” he writes.

“& I’m tweeting all of this bc I don’t wanna give no more P*ssy ass blogs my time[.] If I’m gonna say something from now on I’m a just make the content and drop it myself UNLESS I really respect you…my supporters already know wat I have going on and I’ll trust the to spread the ART,” he later continues.

Afterwards, the “327” rapper promised to make his alleged final year as an artist a busy one. “Yes I know ppl want GUNNLIB in 23′[.] Yes I do wanna make Awesome GOD a trilogy, Yes WWCD 2 is ontop of my list[.] there’s no way I’ll hang it up without a project with my family, YES StoveGOD will be dropping, YES MICHELLE records will be dropping,” writes the Buffalo native.

The announcement comes on the heels of yet another overwhelmingly active year from the 40-year-old. In July, he dropped the 10-track Peace “Fly” God. Additionally, the tenth and final instalment of his notorious HWH mixtape series arrived in October. The project boasts a stacked line-up of features including A$AP Rocky, Black Star, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon and more.

Jeffree Star Suggests Ye & Britney Spears Are Being Targeted By The Illuminati

Two celebrities who endured particularly tumultuous years in 2022 are Kanye West and Britney Spears. For his part, the former finalized his divorce from Kim Kardashian, publicly feuded with some of his best friends, and lost out on billions of dollars after praising Nazis and Hitler in the media. The latter, on the other hand, has spent the months since she was granted freedom from her conservatorship posting countless nude photos on Instagram, many of which have left friends and fans concerned for the mother of two.

Their behaviour at times is certainly concerning, and it seems YouTuber Jeffree Star may have an answer as to why. Earlier this week, the beauty guru was on Twitter when he began reflecting on his own 2022 experience.

“What a crazy f*cking year,” the series of posts began. “I escaped the Illuminati in 2021 and they still haven’t killed me. Every day I wake up grateful.” In response, a follower eventually chimed in, “The elites are real. Kanye is in hiding because they are trying to get him for exposing a lot of shit.”

They later went on, “Blood sacrifices are real. Stay safe Jeffree.” Not long after, the entertainer shot back. “You have no idea what you are talking about,” he told the user. “It’s 10 times worse than you can ever imagine. Just be thankful you are on the other side.”

According to Star, “Anyone who challenges the system gets eliminated.”

Another post reads, “In 2020 I was going to expose everything… In a matter of days, the Hollywood elite tried to ruin my entire career, villainize me, and flooded the news with lies to discredit me.”

“If you guys only knew the truth about what they are doing to Britney and Kanye,” Star’s rant concludes.

Of course, there were trolls in the comments writing responses like “Does the Hollywood Elite have a customer service number? Because idk how many more t*tty squeezing videos from Britney the world can take.”

Ultimately, though, many seem eager for Jeffree Star to expose the information he has. Do you think he should? Sound off in the comments, and check back later for more pop culture updates.

Kim Kardashian Calls Kanye West Her “First Real Marriage”

Kim Kardashian is opening up about life post divorce from Kanye West. The mom of four recently caught up with Gwyneth Paltrow on the actress’ GOOP podcast. She dished on her marriage and divorce from the Yeezy star.

“I feel honestly my last marriage was my first real,” Kim shared. “The first one, I just don’t know what was happening. “The second one, I wanted to be married so badly. All my friends were at that place and that’s where I should have been. And I didn’t accept that that just wasn’t where I was and realized that that was ok.”

Kim previously married music producer Damon Thomas from 2000 to 2003. In 2011, she married NFL star Kris Humphries, before splitting after just 72 days. As for her marriage to Kanye, Kim filed for divorce from the star after 7 years of marriage.

She recently opened up about co-parenting with her controversial ex in an interview on Angie Martinez’ IRL Podcast. “I had the best dad and I had the best memories and the greatest experience and that’s all I want for my kids. As long as they can have that, that’s what I would want for them, you know.”

Kim and Kanye share four children together — all under 10 years old. The SKIMS founder says she’ll share more about her relationship with Ye when their kids are old enough to understand. “When they are we will have those conversations. I’ll be so prepared but until then I will do anything to keep their life as normal as possible.”

Kim also says she’s still open to marriage and kids. “I have this fantasy in my head, like, ‘Fourth time’s a charm — it’s gonna work out.”

Roddy Ricch Goes Off On Paparazzi

2022 has been a rather redeeming year for Roddy Ricch. After last year’s LIVE LIFE FAST didn’t exactly live up to expectations, he took a brief break from dropping music.

Additionally, the world was witness to him deleting his Twitter account following a snippet receiving widespread criticism earlier this year. On Thursday (December 29), however, the Compton native made headlines for getting into a heated exchange with some paparazzi.

The incident occurred while the “Down Below” rapper was out in L.A., appearing to be loading a baby seat into the trunk of his car. After his security guard warns the paparazzi to back up, he proceeds to cross the street. Roddy doesn’t hesitate to flash him the finger as he’s doing so. After all, he does continue to film the 24-year-old, who evidently isn’t happy upon realizing this. The Compton native subsequently decides to approach the cameraman.

He repeatedly tells the paparazzi to turn his camera off and stop recording. “Turn that off, ’cause I wanna talk to you like a man,” he pleads.

“You was the first dude that walked up on me. You walked up on me, bro. Don’t walk up on me. This is real life, don’t walk up on me. I’m handling my personal business, you walking up on me. This ain’t that bro, I’m living real life,” Roddy states. He ends by telling the cameraman, “Leave me the f*ck alone.”

After a string of impressive mixtapes, including his Feed Tha Streets series, the Compton native dropped his debut album Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial in December 2019. Of course, this was backed by his biggest single to date in the megahit, “The Box.”

Last month, he returned to drop off the third instalment of his infamous series, Feed Tha Streets III. Although it does follow a similar formula to past Roddy projects, as a whole, it showcases his confidence and effortlessly melodic flow.
