Mystikal Charged With Rape, False Imprisonment, Domestic Abuse, Robbery And Other Charges

Screen Shot 2022 08 01 at 10.00.16 AM

According to several confirmed reports, Michael Tyler, who is better known in the rap world as Mystikal from Master P’s No Limit imprint, was arrested and charged with rape, robbery, felony strangulation, false imprisonment and other related charges.

Tyler is currently behind bars at the the Ascension Parish Jail and was booked at the Parish’s Sheriff’s Office yesterday afternoon(July 31). He will be arraigned sometime today(August 1) according to records.

In 2003, Mystikal plead guilty to a sexual battery charge and served six years in prison. He was released in 2010, but was charged with another rape and kidnapping in 2016, but the case was dismissed in 2020 Louisiana’s Caddo Parish District Attorney refused to indict Tyler and dismissed the charges. Mystikal’s alibi was that the woman was there with her boyfriend and later claimed she was raped instead of admitting to being unfaithful.

“We never want to be a part of any process that has an innocent person tied up in the criminal justice process,” explained Britney Green from Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office. “I just want to say that there is a distinction between not guilty and innocent, and that also because the case is dismissed or a case is resolved in a fashion other than at trial, that it doesn’t necessarily mean that an incident did not happen.”

Ma$e Says That He Came Up With Biggie’s “Mo Money Mo Problems”

Discussing his “disdain” for Diddy on the latest episode of the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast, Ma$e claimed that he was the mind behind The Notorious B.I.G.’s 1997 hit “Mo Money Mo Problems,” off of the album, Life After Death

“Puff would go out and party and I would be in the studio writing the records,” he said. “And then I’d just come back and say, he’ll say this is his part or this is that part, but I was the person creating it all. I mean, from the lyrical standpoint, whether somebody did the beats, and even ‘Mo Money Mo Problems’ – I came up with that.”

He continued: “I came up with the beat, too. I said, ‘Stevie [J], we need to do this beat and do it like this.’ So just imagine all of these moments that are taken from you, the records, the beats, you ain’t getting the money, you ain’t getting the publishing, you ain’t getting the respect.

“And I don’t think you’re like that to be pulling with you’re pulling. You know what comes with doing that, but everybody is letting you get away with it. Everybody. So me quitting after one album, it didn’t take long for me to figure it out, like I’m not gon’ be here with this. I don’t care who’s here, ’cause you’re not paying me and you’re not respecting me.”

In addition to saying that he didn’t feel like he was paid enough for what he was contributing to Bad Boy Records at the time, nor was he properly respected, Ma$e claimed that he wasn’t paid for the first leg of Puff Daddy and The Family’s No Way Out Tour in 1997.

Ma$e also discussed Fivio Foreign’s recent comments on signing with the RichFish label, jokingly referring to himself as “Diddy 2.0.”

Anthony Davis Slander Reportedly Led To His Newfound Motivation

Anthony Davis has been hit with a ton of slander over the last few months. This mostly stems from the fact that he is oftentimes injured. Davis has struggled to maintain his health and this is something that dates back to his time with the New Orleans Pelicans. Now that he is with the Lakers, Davis has been put under an extra-large microscope and it has led to some hefty criticism from both fans and pundits.

Most recently, Davis was roasted by NBA Twitter after he came out and said that he hadn’t even touched a basketball since the end of the regular season. This outraged supporters who felt as if Davis simply wasn’t taking the sport seriously. Immediately after this criticism, Davis took to the gym where he has been engaging in early-morning workouts.

According to a report from Marc Stein, it seems as though the slander is ultimately what pushed Davis into a brand new direction. As the journalist wrote on his Substack, Davis has a newfound motivation that has him working harder than he ever has before. Without the criticism, no one knows if Davis would be going this hard.

Per Stein:

“Anthony Davis’ surprising disclosure in mid-June that he hadn’t shot a basketball since early April might have been a blessing in disguise. Davis, by all accounts, has been working out with increased diligence ever since his comments generated a wave of strong criticism.”

The Lakers had a disastrous season last year and Davis’ health only made matters worse. If he can remain healthy throughout the season, then perhaps this Lakers squad actually has a fighting chance.

Beyoncé Criticized For Using Slur In “Renaissance” Track, “Heated”

Beyoncé is facing backlash for using an ableist slur in lyrics for her Renaissance track, “Heated.” The controversy comes just months after Lizzo faced similar backlash for using the slur in her song, “GRRRLS.”

In the song, Beyoncé sings “Sp***in’ on that ass, sp** on that ass.” The word derives from the term “spastic,” and is often used in a derogative manner to refer to people with disabilities, especially cerebral palsy.

Disability advocate Hannah Diviney told the BBC that the song “feels like a slap in the face” after Lizzo’s own controversy.

“I’m tired and frustrated that we’re having this conversation again so soon after we got such a meaningful and progressive response from Lizzo,” she said to the outlet.

Lizzo eventually changed the lyrics to her song and shared a statement on social media reading, “Let me make one thing clear: I never want to promote derogatory language. As a fat black woman in America, I’ve had many hurtful words used against me so I overstand [sic] the power words can have (whether intentionally or in my case, unintentionally).”

Backlash for the lyrics to “Heated” isn’t the only criticism Beyoncé has received for Renaissance. Kelis also called the legendary singer out for interpolating her track, “Milkshake,” for the song, “Energy.” Kelis says that she was never asked permission and labeled the act “theft.”
