“What many people don’t know is that Kanye, at one point, was supposed to join Tribe for their last album,” Consequence revealed to a silent room. As DJ EFN and N.O.R.E raised their eyebrows, they inquired whether these discussions occurred prior to Phife Dawg’s death.

“No,” Con responded, confirming that the conversations occurred following Phife’s passing. ‘Cause Phife passed away, Kanye was going to join Tribe.”

In a separate statement to HipHopDX, Consequence confirmed that Ye was nearly a member of A Tribe Called Quest for We Got It From Here…Thank You 4 Your Service.

“Initially after Phife Dawg passed away in March of 2016, there were several conversations and sessions to insert Kanye into A Tribe Called Quest for the final LP, We got it from Here…Thank You 4 Your service, he said. He explained that he couldn’t reveal any other details until the episode of Drink Champs aired. However, he promised that the story would be told in its entirety.

Though Ye didn’t end up in ATCQ for their final album, he did appear on the record, “Killing Season.”

Hornets’ Miles Bridges Charged For Domestic Violence & Child Abuse

Miles Bridges, who is a restricted free agent for the Charlotte Hornets, is facing three felony domestic violence charges, after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend in front of their two children, last month. The 24-year-old is being charged with one felony count of injuring a child’s parent and two felony counts of child abuse under circumstances or conditions likely to cause great bodily injury or death.

District Attorney George Gascon says that the case “includes an allegation of causing great bodily injury on the domestic violence victim.”

“Domestic violence creates physical, mental and emotional trauma that has a lasting impact on survivors,” Gascon added, according to ESPN. “Children who witness family violence are especially vulnerable and the impact on them is immeasurable.”

While the DA’s report mentions the children being present for the alleged assault, it did not specify what the child abuse counts exactly stemmed from.

Mychelle Johnson, the mother of Bridges’ children, shared pictures of her injuries and a medical report on Instagram, earlier this month, which read in part, “Brain concussion; Closed fracture of nasal bone; Contusion of rib; Multiple bruises; Strain of neck muscle.”

Both the Hornets and the NBA say that they are aware of the situation and are investigating the allegations.

“These are very serious charges that we will continue to monitor,” the Hornets said. “As this is a legal matter, we will have no further comment at this time.”

Bridges is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

Quotable Lyrics
Bitch, y’all know got shot a few months ago
Bitch, y’all know that lil’ shit was so petty, y’all could’ve let me go
All the good that I do for the hood, the charities did in Pompano
You’ll never see a thug n***a, ex-drug dealer like me again
Gravedigger, big brain-splitter, fuckin’ a cop, I’ll leave it in
Fuck me a CEO, I love my PO, she know I be tryin’ and shit
Sometimes feel like tryna quit, tell everybody to suck my dick

Logic Says He Made “Vinyl Days” In 12 Days To Get Out Of Def Jam Contract

Logic says that he put Vinyl Days together in under two weeks so he could get out of his contract with Def Jam. Despite the quick output, he says that he left Def Jam with “some of the dopest shit I could give them.” Logic discussed the making of the album and his excitement to go independent during an interview on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast.

“I made that album in 12 days so I could get off Def Jam,” he admitted on the show. “That’s my favorite part – I’m off Def Jam. I made that album so I could leave, and guess what? I left them with some of the dopest shit I could give them. It’s not like I just wiped my ass. What am I excited about? I’m excited to be independent, I’m excited to do my thing.”

Logic added: “I’m really happy to know that I represented and low-key was the face of the label — one of the illest Hip Hop labels of all time — and that I sold millions and millions of records and gave them billions and billions of streams, and that it was a good partnership. And I couldn’t be happier to get the fuck out.”

In total, Logic released seven albums on Def Jam including Under Pressure, The Incredible True Story, Everybody, YSIV, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, No Pressure, and Vinyl Days. He also put out the Bobby Tarantino mixtape trilogy on the label as well.

Vinyl Days was released back in June and features DJ Premier, RZA, Royce da 5’9, The Game, and several other notable guest appearances.

Kodak Black’s Lawyer Says Oxy Pills Found During Arrest Are Prescribed

Police arrested Kodak Black on drug charges last week after he was pulled over during a traffic stop. Though Yak was hit with charges of possession of a controlled substance without prescription and trafficking in oxycodone, his lawyer insists neither will hold in court since the rapper actually does have a prescription.

Per TMZ, Kodak Black’s lawyer Bradford Cohen said the pills discovered in his vehicle at the time of the arrest were prescribed to him to combat chronic pain. Cohen explained that doctors prescribed Kodak Black pain medication to help cope with the pain but also, long-term injuries that he suffered in prison. Yak previously accused prison guards of assaulting him in prison and still suffers from pain from the injuries he sustained.

Cohen said that he handed over the appropriate paperwork and proof to prosecutors to settle this issue immediately.

The Florida rapper was arrested last week after police said that he was driving with expired tags and illegal tints. They said they smelled marijuana which prompted them to search the car and discovered $75K in cash and 31 oxycodone pills. He was eventually released on $75K bail.

“Never judge a case based on an arrest,” Cohen said after Kodak posted bond. “There are facts and circumstances that give rise to a defense, especially in this case. We negotiated a bond of $75,000 and we will move forward with resolving the matter quickly.”

We will keep you posted on anymore updates surrounding Kodak’s case.

50 Cent Reacts To GOP Bill That Makes Fathers Pay Child Support For Unborn Children, “F*ck This”

50 Cent Expendables

After Roe v Wade was overturned last month, there has been a lot of speculation about the future of reproductive rights and the rights of unborn children. The GOP recently introduced a bill that would make fathers pay child support for unborn children.

50 Cent is apparently not a fan of the proposed bill and took to Instagram in typical 50 fashion and shared a few words about it.

“Ok f*ck this I quit,” 50 wrote in his Instagram caption while sharing a screenshot of an article from the Daily Mail.

50 is no stranger to child support so the idea of having to pay backpay for a child who wasn’t even born yet is surely not something he would support. When Fif filed for bankruptcy in 2016, he claimed that he was in good standing with his child support payments, while the mother of his son, Shaniqua Tompkins, requested an increase in payments to the $6,700 he was paying for their son, Marquise, who was 19 at the time.

The GOP proposed bill would let mothers seek child support payments as early as contraception and even retroactive payments if paternity is not established by the time of the child’s birth. The bill has been supported by Republicans in the Senate such as Marco Rubio, Rick Scott, Marsha Blackburn, Cindy Hyde-Smith, Roger Wicker, James Lankford, Jim Inhofe, and Steve Daines.

Charlamagne Calls The Negativity Surrounding The Desus And Mero Split A Product Of The “Culture”

Yesterday, Showtime announced that Desus & Mero would not be returning for a fifth season due to the duo’s decision to split and pursue separate ventures.

“Desus Nice and The Kid Mero will be pursuing separate creative endeavors moving forward. SHOWTIME’s late-night talk show DESUS & MERO will not be returning for a fifth season. Its final episode aired Thursday, June 23,” a spokesperson for the network said in a press release.

Fans were shocked to hear about the split but wished the Bodega Boys much success in their future endeavors.

However, in a recent episode of The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne called out the “culture” for reporting negatively on the split.

“Two talented brothas, wish them success in their solo endeavors, but one thing this situation reminds me of is we really are a culture that’s quick to talk about bad news,” Charlamagne said. “Like, Desus & Mero been on TV for the last six years from Vice to Showtime—their show’s critically acclaimed, they got New York Times best-selling book, brand deals, they’ve done some amazing things together and I’ve never seen the culture collectively report on those great things the way they’ve done this breakup, but that’s just the way it is.”

“People will scream about what they think is your failures and they’ll whisper about your success.”

The camera then zoomed in on DJ Envy who also wished the two success in their future endeavors. This is surprising given their beef in 2018.

Amber Rose Reveals She Got Nicki Minaj On “Monster,” Says Kanye Thought She “Killed Him” With Her Verse

Amber Rose Announces Pregnancy on Instagram

Many believe that Amber Rose was Kanye’s greatest “muse” as he created, arguably. his best album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy while dating her. In previous interviews, she has said that the critically acclaimed album is about her, and in a new episode of the Higher Learning podcast with Van Lathan, Rose revealed that she was the one who got Nicki Minaj to feature on “Monster.”

Rose told Lathan that she met Nicki Minaj and told her to come to the studio where Kanye was working on his album. Rose said that Ye was originally against putting Nicki on the album.

“I put Nicki on ‘Monster,’” Rose said. “I put Nicki on ‘Monster’. He didn’t know who Nicki was back then. I had Nicki pull up to the studio and I put her on ‘Monster.’”

Amber added, “she was still coming up, and I saw her in the studio and I said, ‘Oh my god, this b*tch is f*cking talented as hell.’ And then I went back to Kanye and I was like, ‘You need to get this girl Nicki on ‘Monster.’ And he was like, ‘Who? What? No. I’m not…” And I said, ‘Just let her pull up, what’s it going to hurt?’ […] She heard the song and then she came back the next day with the verse.”

According to Rose, even after Nicki had recorded her verse, Kanye did not want to add it to the album because her verse was better than his.

“He told me that the same day. He’s like, ‘How the f*ck did you bring in a b*tch that killed me on my own song?’” Rose said.
