Azealia Banks Asks Lil Nas X To Collab: “The Gworlz Are Actually Going To Shit Themselves”

Azealia Banks is incredibly eager to collab with Lil Nas X, though her dreams may not come true due to some of her past comments about the Atlanta-born rapper.

Earlier today (July 31) the “212” artist contacted Nas via her Instagram Story, practically begging him to jump on a track with her that she seems to think will change the world. “@lilnasx I got the one,” she began.

“Like, the one one. No like, the gworlz are *actually* going to shit themselves. Like it’s really a wrap for a lot of mf*ckas.” Banks told the 23-year-old, “You must be on this song so we can feast on these hoe ass n*ggas.”

That’s not all she had to say either, as the controversial creative went on to brag about her “sixth sense” that she describes as “a way of knowing/having precisely what the gays *truly* want.”

“Never pandering,” Azealia wrote. “Just giving the give… I’m really gayer than all y’all lmfaoooooo.”

Her final statements on the unreleased track were, “Cause I really hit the f*cking nail on the head with this one…”

At this time, Lil Nas X hasn’t replied to Banks’ plea for a collab, though he did share his opinion on her during an interview with GQ late last year. Though he admitted to being a fan of the 31-year-old, he’s reluctant to work with her musically.

“Azealia shits on me too much, though!” the MONTERO artist said when the interviewer asked him to put the New Yorker on a track. “And I think it’s funny in a way. I still love Azealia Banks’ music.”

Though Nas didn’t name any specific incidents between the two, it’s possible he could be referring to the 2019 moment when the “Luxury” singer dissed both him and Lizzo – read more about that here, and tap back in with HNHH later for more hip-hop news updates.

Doja Cat’s Crush Joseph Quinn Rocks Out With Metallica Backstage At Lollapalooza

It’s been nearly a month since the last two episodes of the latest season of Stranger Things hit Netflix, but English actor Joseph Quinn is still caught up in the midst of the fan hype surrounding his beloved character, Eddie Munson.

If you tuned into the latest installment of the hit series, you’ll know that Quinn’s role found him playing the town’s Dungeons & Dragons obsessed outcast, who also happens to have some serious guitar talents that came in handy during the Hawkins gang’s trip to the Upside Down.

Seeing as he did such a kickass job with “Master of Puppets” on the small screen, Metallica invited the 29-year-old to join them backstage ahead of their headlining set at Lollapalooza this year.

The meet and greet session was caught on video and has since made its way onto the rock band’s Instagram page. “Hey there, I’m backstage at Lollapalooza about to meet Metallica,” Quinn tells the camera as the clip begins.

The Catherine the Great star introduced himself to all four members – James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo – and in a matter of moments, one of them admitted to being a huge Stranger Things fan.

“I’m a big fan of it and have been since season one,” the band’s frontman confessed, adding that watching it has been a “bonding experience” for him and his kids.

Quinn thanked the band for allowing the show to use their song, to which Hetfield responded, “Thanks for doing it justice, by the way. You definitely did.”

After some more chit-chatting, Trujillo suggested that the group pick up a jam session, which ended with the actor being “hired” to join the famous group. “Metallica are now a five-piece guys,” Ulrich told the camera.

Quinn was then presented with a guitar signed by all the members, and Metallica went on to rouse the crowd at Lollapalooza 2022 – check out the full set below, and tap back in with HNHH later for more pop culture news updates.

Lil Durk Addresses Onstage Explosion Injury: “I’ma Take A Break”

Lil Durk performed at Lollapalooza on Saturday, and things didn’t go according to plan. At one point during his set, Durk walked into two explosions onstage and was struck in the face. He took a few seconds to collect himself, and finished his performance.

Now, however, it looks like Lil Durk was more injured than he let on. In a post to Instagram this morning, Lil Durk said he would be taking some time to get better. The rapper included a picture of his face post-accident in what looks like a medical facility. In the photo, he has a bandage over his right eye.

“Due to the incident that happened at Lollapalooza in Chicago on stage, I’ma take a break & focus on my health,” wrote Durk in his IG post. “I finished my performance yesterday for my fans. Appreciate y’all.” He included a blue heart. In the comments, fans expressed their sympathy for the artist, showering him with well-wishes.

Lil Durk’s set was one of many noteworthy performances that have already taken place at the Chicago festival. Jhené Aiko showed off her baby bump alongside her partner Big Sean. After their set, Big Sean took to Twitter to thank their fans. “Best part of today was seeing our baby in Momma’s belly and you all showing so much love on stage,” he wrote.

Cordae, meanwhile, got attention for an entirely different reason. During his set, he wore a “civil war general” beard that stole the show. Fans were befuddled by the look, and Cordae himself was amused by people’s reactions.

Let’s hope artists stay safe during the final day of the festival.

“From boycotting a 1961 exhibition game to unmask too-long tolerated discrimination, to leading Mississippi’s first integrated basketball camp in the combustible wake of Medgar Evans’ assassination, to decades of activism ultimately recognized by his receipt of the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2010, Bill called out injustice with an unforgiving candor that he intended would disrupt the status quo, and with a powerful example that, though never his humble intention, will forever inspire teamwork, selflessness and thoughtful change,” his family said in a statement. “Bill’s wife, Jeannine, and his many friends and family thank you for keeping Bill in your prayers. Perhaps you’ll relive one or two of the golden moments he gave us, or recall his trademark laugh as he delighted in explaining the real story behind how those moments unfolded. And we hope each of us can find a new way to act or speak up with Bill’s uncompromising, dignified and always constructive commitment to principle. That would be one last, and lasting, win for our beloved #6.”

Beyoncé Dominates Our “R&B Season” Update

It’s been a big week for R&B, and our R&B Season playlist has been updated accordingly.

First and foremost, tracks off of Beyoncé’s new album Renaissance take up a whopping four spots on our list. The top slot goes to “Energy,” a track featuring Beam in which Bey samples Big Freedia and Kelis. The track’s made some headline’s already after Kelis had some things to say about her sample. While the “Milkshake” singer might not be happy about the use of her song, it’s hard to deny that “Energy” is a hit.

Next up is “New To You,” a track from Calvin Harris in which the producer taps the talents of Normani, Tinashe, and Offset. Harris explained his approach to collaborations on New Music Daily: “It’s like completely like no pressure. Like, I’ll give you a platform if you’re an artist to go and do this and have a laugh.” This laid-back style certainly pays off on the Scottish DJ’s new single.

Beyoncé returns in our third spot with “Cozy,” a supremely danceable track that’s sure to be a mainstay in clubs for a while. On the track, Bey preaches self love, and advises not to mess with her sister.

“Pro” by Day Sulan is up next on our playlist. The sensual track pays homage to Sulan’s past career as an exotic dancer, and fittingly samples “I’m N Luv (Wit a Stripper)” by T-Pain.

Rounding out our updates are two more Bey tracks, the other-worldly “Alien Superstar” and No I.D. and The-Dream-produced “Church Girl.”

Check it all out below, and let us know what you think of our update in the comments.
