Ben Simmons’ Fate Revealed Amid Kevin Durant Trade Bombshell

Earlier today, some bombshell news was reported in the NBA. It was revealed that Kevin Durant had requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets, despite Kyrie Irving’s intentions to stay with the franchise. Now, it appears as though both superstars are on their way out, which leaves Ben Simmons all alone to fend for himself.

Of course, Simmons was brought to the Nets in a trade that also involved none other than James Harden. With KD and Kyrie by his side, the Nets were supposed to have a Big Three that could dominate the league. Now, Simmons’ future is in jeopardy as he will soon have no more superstars around him.

Thankfully for Simmons, it appears as though the Nets have no immediate plans to move him. According to Sam Amick of The Athletic, the Nets are going to hold onto Simmons for the time being. He is still a very valuable player and trading him would essentially turn the Nets into immediate bottom feeders.

Either way, this is a horrible situation for Simmons to find himself in. After having numerous issues in Philly, it’s hard to see him finding the motivation to play for a Nets squad that is devoid of its two superstar talents.

R. Kelly Attorney Calls RICO Charge “Inappropriate,” Vows To Appeal

https://www.billboard.com/articles/business/legal-and-management/9487888/r-kelly-trial-start-date/

On Wednesday, June 29, R. Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in prison after being found guilty of federal racketeering and sex trafficking charges. Following the verdict, Kelly’s attorney, Jennifer Bonjean, said that she plans to appeal the R.I.C.O charge that her client was charged with.

During a post-sentencing press conference, Bonjean spoke about appealing the charge, saying that there was no evidence to support that her client was a part of an enterprise, and called the charge “inappropriate.”

“These were not a RICO act violation,” Bonjean said at the 2:36-minute mark. “These were isolated events that happened many years and the government simply tried to plead around the statute of limitations to bring in a RICO charge, which was inappropriate.”

She continued, saying “all I can tell you is there was no enterprise. There was no enterprise. It was one man with allegations by a number of women, which doesn’t make it an enterprise, and that is why he’s not guilty of racketeering.”

She added that she was “excited” about the appeal, and “confident” that their appeal would persuade the court of appeals to dismiss the charge. She also said that she told Kelly to invoke his 5th amendment right and not take the stand.

Skip Bayless Haunts Lil Wayne’s House With Cowboys Jersey

Skip Bayless and Lil Wayne have a very unlikely friendship. The legendary rapper and the sports talk television pundit have been friends ever since Skip’s days at ESPN, and as it turns out, they like to visit each other’s homes. Just a few months ago, Skip and his wife Ernestine went over to Wayne’s house where they posed for some photos and had a great time hanging out.

Recently, Bayless got to go back to Wayne’s house, where he decided to terrorize the artist. Of course, Wayne is a huge fan of the Green Bay Packers all while Bayless supports the Cowboys. These two teams hate each other, and Wayne has a strong distaste for the Cowboys. Regardless, Skip opted to wear his Cowboys uniform to Wayne’s house, and now, the artist is convinced his home is haunted.

“Ernestine & I had a great time last night at Lil Wayne’s,” Skip wrote. “I couldn’t resist wearing my favorite Cowboy shirt just to irritate him, he despises all things Cowboys (except Micah). Now, after I desecrated his house by entering it wearing such blasphemy, Wayne fears it’ll be haunted.”

Despite pulling a stunt like this, we’re sure Bayless is still invited to Wayne’s home in the future. As Skip has said numerous time, the two have a brotherly bond, and that isn’t going to change anytime soon.

James Harden’s Latest Move Could Bring PJ Tucker To Philadelphia

NBA superstar James Harden has decided to opt out of his contract with the Philadelphia 76ers and will be a free agent in the offseason, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski announced in a Tweet on Wednesday.

Harden has declined his $47.3 million player option with the Sixers in a move to renegotiate a new deal that will be beneficial to both sides. This goes hand in hand with the Sixers pursuit of power forward PJ Tucker, in a three year deal worth $30 million. In order to afford Tucker, Philadelphia would have to clear a substantial amount of cap space, which renegotiating James’ contract could provide. Harden is expected to resign with the Sixers, a good sign of his allegiance to his new team.

The former league MVP was traded to the 76ers from the Brooklyn Nets in February 2022. In the 21 games he played with the Sixers, he averaged 21 points and 10.5 assists, adding 7 rebounds per game. While Harden struggled to get chemistry with former teammates Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, Sixers fans hope he can find success alongside star center Joel Embiid.

The Sixers 2022 season ended in disappointing fashion. After dispatching the Toronto Raptors in a 4-2 series, Philadelphia lost in the second round to the Miami Heat in a 2-4 series.
