Justin Timberlake Recognized His Faults And Apologized For His Awkward Dancing At Something In The Water

It’d been a little while since we saw Justin Timberlake take over a stage for a performance. One of the last moments came back at the beginning of 2021 when he performed with Ant Clemons for President Joe Biden’s inauguration. That drought ended when Pharrell invited Timberlake to perform with him during day two of his Something In The Water Festival last weekend. Pharrell’s near-two-hour set also included appearances from N.O.R.E., T.I., and Clipse, who reunited for their first performance together in ten years. While the aforementioned names’ appearances were memorable for their performances, there was a little more to it for Timberlake.

During his time at Something In The Water, Timberlake showed off some dance moves that were quite awkward, to say the least. With thousands of people watching, both at the festival grounds in Washington D.C. and at home through a livestream, it was no surprise that fans had plenty of reactions to Timberlake’s dance moves. After reading the comments over the past few days, the singer took to Instagram to issue an apology.

“D.C., I want to apologize to you for two reasons: here and here,” he said in a video he posted on his Instagram Story as he zoomed in on his feet. “I had a long talk with both of them, individually, and said, ‘Don’t you ever do that to me again.’” Timberlake added that his khaki pants could be the blame for his dance moves as they were “a real khaki vibe.” In the end, he promised to “get it right” in the future and then added a bunch of memes to show that he was not offended by the social media jokes.

Logic Talks Online Hate, Says Internet Was “A Much More Nicer Place” A Decade Ago

Everyone has their preferences when it comes to music tastes, but there is a wave of firing off hateful messages to artists that some listeners don’t like. The internet can be a strange—and cruel—place, and often, even as social media users, we see others delivering hateful posts, replies, and comments to rappers simply because someone isn’t a fan.

While all artists find themselves on the receiving end of these harsh criticisms, Logic has been a figure that has amassed quite a bit of hate. During his recent sit-down with Zane Lowe for Apple Music 1, the Vinyl Days creative spoke about the vile reactions he receives.

“It’s difficult, man, to see people tell you they hope your family dies, and your baby’s ugly, and X, Y, Z, and you deal with that every time you look on the internet,” said Logic. “I know, it’s messed up, man. Yeah, as human beings. It’s insane to know that a decade ago this isn’t how the internet was. It was actually a much more nicer place. You know what I mean? There were still trolls and stuff… but everything now, how people even discuss or talk about music, ‘Yeah, this was mid.’ What does that even mean?”

“Have an opinion. You know what I mean? If somebody’s talking about an artist, ‘Yeah, this is mid. This is kind of ass.’ I’m like, ‘Is that how you talk to your mom?’ When your mom gives you breakfast, ‘Yeah, Mom …’ Who does that …So, I think for me, that’s something that I wanted to do. I wanted to step away from the negativity. Not like I’m trying to hide from it and this and that, but just like, ‘Dude, I need a break.'”

That break seemed to materialize in the form of a brief retirement, but Logic returned full force. Let us know if you agree or disagree with the rapper’s thoughts on the evolution of internet culture.

Andrew Gillum Indicted On 21 Federal Counts, Denies Obtaining Illegal Campaign Funds: Report

Former mayor of Tallahassee Andrew Gillum is facing yet another controversy.  The politician previously took over headlines back in 2020 when police reportedly responded to a call and found Gillum unconscious with drugs and a male escort. He later appeared for interviews with his wife by his side before openly admitting that he is bisexual. His sexual preferences aside, Gillum is facing another scandal and this time, he’s battling with federal authorities.

According to The Grio, Gillum has been indicted “on 21 counts of alleged wire fraud and making false statements to federal authorities.” It is alleged that “Gillum and longtime associate Sharon Lettman-Hicks illegally solicited contributions to his campaign for governor in exchange for political favors like government contracts with the city of Tallahassee.”

The lengthy indictment reportedly shows that two undercover FBI agents posed as real estate developers who wanted to buy city contracts. Hicks stands accused of obtaining illegal campaign funds and sending that over to Gillum under “payroll payments.”

Gillum has reportedly already reached out to his colleagues, saying, “Every campaign I’ve run has been done with integrity. Make no mistake that this case is not legal, it is political.”

“There’s been a target on my back ever since I was the mayor of Tallahassee. They found nothing then, and I have full confidence that my legal team will prove my innocence now.” He also shared the photo below earlier today.

Screen Shot 2022 06 22 at 9.00.53 PM

OneOf has announced Sky’s the Limit: The Notorious B.I.G. NFT Collection, a first-of-its-kind NFT in partnership with The Christopher Wallace Estate. Bringing music to Web3 in a way that only OneOf can, the platform will host a generative profile picture (PFP) NFT collection that honors and celebrates The Notorious B.I.G. as one of the most influential rappers and cultural figures of all time.

The Sky’s the Limit: The Notorious B.I.G. NFT Collection features unique 3D NFT characters inspired by his life, style and lyrics, and crucially gives each NFT holder the right to collectively license the audio of Biggie Smalls’ most famous freestyle, filmed on a street corner in Brooklyn when he was just 17. Despite its legendary status, the freestyle has never been officially released or made available for other musicians to sample and use in their own songs.  Until now.

All NFT holders automatically become part of a revolutionary new Sky’s The Limit collective, with Web3 putting fans in the driver’s seat of this piece of hip hop history.  With the approval and oversight of the collective (and estate), musicians can license and include Smalls’ iconic freestyle in their own recording. The song can be released on music streaming services with a “featuring The Notorious B.I.G.” credit in the song title.

The Sky’s the Limit: The Notorious B.I.G. NFT Collection will be available at: http://oneof.com/biggie

Today on OneOf, fans are able to sign up for the allow list.  The collection will be available to purchase on July 26.  NFT holders will also have first access to The Brook, a lifestyle, fashion, culture, music, entertainment metaverse experience launching soon with BIGGIE’s hyper realistic avatar as a character.

“We named this collection ‘Sky’s The Limit’ because we believe this is a watershed moment in NFTs where seminal artists like Biggie and their truest fans can drive culture and drive value together,” said Joshua James, OneOf Co-Founder & COO. “We’re thrilled to work with The Christopher Wallace Estate to honor Biggie’s enduring legacy, in web3 and beyond, and we have some amazing surprises for NFT holders along the way.”

“Biggie’s music is a very important part of hiphop culture and it’s global impact,” said Wayne Barrow, Manager of Voletta Wallace/BIGGIE’s estate. “Our business partner, Elliot Osagie of Willingie Inc, came up with the concept of coming together with OneOf to share the infamous freestyle that showcased to the world the icon that Biggie would soon become through an NFT, and sharing it with his fans in this way we are certain would make him proud.”

A Snoop Dogg Impersonator Named ‘Doop Snogg’ Has Been Fooling Fans At NFT NYC

A Snoop Dogg impersonator has been walking around NFT NYC tricking fans. Despite wearing a name tag reading “Doop Snogg,” the impersonator managed to convince attendees of the conference that he is the real Snoop.

Kevin Collier, a reporter for NBC, was one of many people who believed Doop Snogg was actually Snoop, and didn’t realize he was an impersonator until he attempted to interview him.

“I’m at the NFT NYC conference again in Times Square, and Snoop walked by, flanked by security,” Collier tweeted. “I grabbed his handler, said I’m a reporter, would love a few minutes. The guy said actually that’s an impersonator, legally can’t say it’s him, they hired him to drum up excitement.”

Snoop has since replied to fans’ confusion about the look-alike, quoting Collier’s tweet, simply replying, “Doop Snogg.”

While the real Snoop may not be in attendance at NFT NYC, the rapper has made large strides in the realm of non-fungible tokens. Earlier this year, he revealed that he plans to turn Death Row Records into an NFT label. He was revealed to be behind the Cozomo de’ Medici NFT Twitter account and he was also confirmed to be the title character of Supercuzz, an NFT comic book series.

DJ Drama Revisits Kodak Black’s “Sorry-Ass Beat” Mention In 2016 XXL Freshmen Cypher

Six years can make a helluva difference in the entertainment industry. We recently received theXXL‘s list for their 2022 Freshmen Class, and while those choices are debated among Hip Hop fans, the outlet recently revisited their stellar 2016 group that has gone on to make major moves in the industry. Rappers included 21 Savage, Denzel Curry, Lil Uzi Vert, Kodak Black, and several others, but the latter’s Freshmen Cypher was recently revisited thanks to a mention by DJ Drama.

During that 2016 cypher, the DJ icon held down the ones and twos for the rappers. When it was Kodak’s turn, his opening line caused a bit of a chuckle.

Kodak rapped:

Now who the f*ck picked this lil’ sorry-ass beat?
I’m from the ugly corner, man, them lil’ sour-ass streets
Damn, homie, I’m the one who let your starving-ass eat
And you was hungry, I ain’t have to let your sorry-ass eat
My cousin G-Wayne got off for manslaughter last week
Gave my dog a buck 50, that n*gga brought me back three
I’ma— a n*gga broad and get up all in them cheeks
Tied, they dead flies”

Yesterday (June 21), XXL tweeted the cover of their 2016 Freshmen Class publication and added a quote from Drama in the caption where he spoke about that crew of rappers being game-changers. Drama reposted the tweet and added, “This when i picked that sorry ass beat [air coming out of nostrils angry emoji][single tear emoji] Legendary.”
