It’s always a good day to receive new music from Dreamville but the label was under fire after an artist claimed that they copied his song. J. Cole and Co. surprised fans when they announced theirD-Day Gangster Grillz mixtape courtesy of DJ Drama, and since its release in the wee hours of the morning (April 1), Hip Hop has been streaming on repeat.

People were quick to point out that Drama inserted a mention of the Will Smith and Chris Rock debacle that continues to clog up timelines, but a rapper named Rockstar JT came forward to accuse Dreamville of mirroring his track.

“In 2020 I dropped STICK .. 2022 @dreamville dropped STICK .. I know they are way bigger artists than me but these songs sound identical just structured different .. this is not for clout but do y’all hear it? [crying emoji],” he wrote along with snippets of the songs. The message was reposted by The Neighborhood Talk and gained some traction online, and it looked as if Dreamville’s team wasn’t about to let their name be involved in copyright allegations.

Rockstar JT returned to off an update after allegedly speaking with someone behind the scenes.

“I talked with the team behind the song and they were in contact with dreamville’s team and come to find out they had their song recorded in 2019 it just wasn’t released,” JT later wrote. “My goal is never to get clout or come up off another man. Coming from where I come from we work hard that’s it. I posted the post last night & this morning I found out when it was recorded.”

After a lengthy romance with Common, Tiffany Haddish is back on the market. However, the comedian is shutting down rumors that she’s already moved on to a new relationship with another rapper. Although it took some fans a little getting used to seeing Haddish and Common together, the pair regularly spoke about how much love they had for one another. There was a bit of discrepancy between the two about why their romance ended, but they seem to have moved on.

Recently, Haddish was spotted with a rapper named Stallionaires Pooch and of course, TMZ was quick to catch up with him. A cameraperson asked Pooch how he was able to “woo” Haddish.

“It’s the charm, I’m a charming dude,” he said in a video. “I’m respectful. I know how to treat a woman and I’m genuine, I’m authentic.” The outlet also suggested that Pooch called himself and Haddish an “item.” However, TMZ apparently reached out to Haddish to comment on Stallionaire Pooch’s remarks. 

“Well, I don’t think one dinner counts as dating. Does it?” she reportedly said. Although the actress did previously say she’s been praying for a good man, it doesn’t seem like Pooch is that guy just yet. Check out his video below.

The Oscars elite has yet to reveal the disciplinary action against Will Smith, but the actor has come forward with an announcement. We haven’t even made it one full week since Smith walked up to Chris Rock and slapped him across the face at the 94th Academy Awards, but the world has weighed in with hundreds of thousands of opinions.

Days ago, we reported that the Academy would be reviewing the incident in an upcoming committee meeting, but it looks as if moves are already being made behind the scenes now that Smith has formally announced that he’s resigning from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

In a statement shared by The Hollywood Reporter, Smith stated:

“My actions at the 94th Academy Awards presentation were shocking, painful, and inexcusable. The list of those I have hurt is long and includes Chris, his family, many of my dear friends and loved ones, all those in attendance, and global audiences at home,” Smith said. “I betrayed the trust of the Academy. I deprived other nominees and winners of their opportunity to celebrate and be celebrated for their extraordinary work. I am heartbroken. I want to put the focus back on those who deserve attention for their achievements and allow the Academy to get back to the incredible work it does to support creativity and artistry in film.”

Smith also reportedly said that he would accept any and all consequences. Meanwhile, the Academy responded with: “We have received and accepted Mr. Will Smith’s immediate resignation from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. We will continue to move forward with our disciplinary proceedings against Mr. Smith for violations of the Academy’s Standards of Conduct, in advance of our next scheduled board meeting on April 18.”

This resignation means what Smith will no longer be able to vote for the Oscars but it will not keep him from attending the ceremony or being nominated in the future.

Last month, Shenseea told us during our Ladies First interview that she typically embraces negative comments, but when it comes to false reporting, the Jamaican singer is fed up. As she transitions from the world of Dancehall to Pop’s mainstream, Shenseea is finding her name attached to rumors. It’s nothing that thousands of other celebrities or famous figures aren’t accustomed to, but there is one particular outlet that Shenseea claims is responsible for spreading untruths about her.

Over on her Instagram Story, Shenseea uploaded her own tweet where she called out 18 Karat Reggae for writing an article titled, “Shenseea Hospitalized After Holding in Gas Around New Rapper Boyfriend.” She wrote, “Just wanna let y’all know that this is the site who has been spreading non stop lies about me for views. 18 karat Reggae is so disrespectful and fake. EVERYTHING on there is a lie, literally lol.”

The site is obviously satire but people have run rampant with their fake reports. In the article mentioned, they even included a fake interview with Shenseea and she shared screenshots.

“Using my name for clicks,” she said. “Spreading the worst lies. I pray [praying hands emoji] you go to hell lol. Btw this was also the site that started that pregnancy rumor about me as well.” Elsewhere she added, “Prime example that you cannot believe everything you read guys. One thing with me I aint afraid to address sh*t but I wont stop to throw stones at every barking dog. If you didn’t hear that sh*t from me, it’s not credible. Sites and blogs out here lying for highlights. Be smart.”

After The Shade Room reposted her messages, Shenseea hopped in the comments to add that she only felt it necessary to the website because they allegedly “started a very serious rumor.” Check it out below.

Megan Thee Stallion is on her hot girl shit. While some artists – like Lil Nas X – came through with the clever April Fools’ Day content, the Houston-born hitmaker kept it cute on her own feed, dropping off some new selfies and a booty-shaking video that has fans falling to their knees.

Kim Kardashian is on to better things. Amid her separation from Kanye West, the mother of four has been making moves to officially rebrand one of her many companies – officially severing her ties with the West moniker on her KKW Fragrance brand.

As Page Six reports, the 41-year-old shared on her Instagram Story earlier today (April 1st) that next month, her website will temporarily shut down as it undergoes a rebrand. “On May 1st at midnight, @KKWfragrance will be shutting down the website so that we can relaunch fragrance in the future under a brand new name,” she explained.

Kardashian and her team also plan to launch a “new web store where you can purchase from all beauty categories under one site.” The socialite’s statement mentioned how “deeply personal” her perfume line is for her as well.

“I put my heart and soul into every bottle,” she gushed. “I’m so incredibly proud of every KKW Fragrance product and collaboration that we have launched since Crystal Gardenia in 2017,” the reality star went on, name-dropping her OG scent from several years back.

Kardashian then thanked her fans for their endless support “from the bottom of [her] heart.” In conclusion, she told her 297 million followers, “I cannot wait to introduce you to the next chapter of my fragrance journey – I promise I won’t be gone for too long.”
