Guapdad 4000’s new single “Black Iverson” launched in a unique format with COLORSxSTUDIOS, who paired up with NBA 2K for a special partnership that included an exclusive curated COLORS soundtrack update and NBA 2K in-game performance. The single dropped just weeks after touring with Wale. The single is available on all platforms today, the same that the Oakland-bred MC delivers the new official Chris Simmons-directed visual and studio version of the single. Guapdad has switched his name up and will go forward as simply “Guap.”

The track’s fiery trap rhythm and bass-heavy backdrop set the scene for the artist’s casual delivery. It’s taken from his upcoming EP Handsome and produced by K.FISHA.

“‘Black Iverson’ is a song reflecting on my journey from start till now. Many comparisons can be made between me and Iverson himself,” Guap said of the single. “We both have charisma and an undeniable style, but the bottom line is we are black men in America. There was ‘White Iverson’ a few years back and now we have a ‘Black Iverson.’”

The video is directed by Chris Simmons. “The goal for this video was to portray Guap in an organic light,” Simmons provides. “It was inspiring for us to go back to our roots with the style in which we shot it. You’ll see what I mean with the particular angles I selected and the way in which I approached it.”

Rihanna Is Thrilled About Her First Barbados National Heroes Day As One Of The Honorees

Yesterday was a big day in Barbados, as April 28 marks National Heroes Day, during which the island nation honors a select group of people who have been declared National Heroes. Rihanna earned that distinction last November, meaning this year’s National Heroes Day was Rihanna’s first as an honoree, about which she was thrilled.

Rihanna shared some photos from the celebration and wrote, “My very first #NationalHeroesDay as a National Hero of my country Barbados! [Barbados flag emojis] What an absolute honor to be amongst such great men and women who have come before me and held this title in commitment to our nation! I will forever cherish these memories and continue to represent the Bajan people and my home Barbados to the fullest!! Love and gratitude to both The Prime Minister, The Honorable Mia Amor Mottley and our President, Her Excellency The Most Honorable Dame Sandra Mason for trusting me with this honor!”

The first National Heroes Day was celebrated on April 28, 1998, 100 years after the birth of Sir Grantley Herbert Adams, Barbados’ first prime minister (a position then called “premier”). The holiday has been observed annually since then.

The National Hero distinction is a big deal, as Rihanna is just one of 11 people to ever be given the title and the first one since the inaugural ten-person class in 1998. Rihanna is one of only two living National Heroes of Barbados, alongside legendary cricket player Sir Garfield St Aubrun Sobers. She’s also one of just two women to ever receive the honor, the other being Sarah Ann Gill, a social and religious leader in the 1800s.

Jack Harlow Shares Confident DMs He Sent Bryson Tiller When He Was 17

Bryson Tiller is only a few years older than Jack Harlow (29 vs. 24, respectively), but that didn’t stop Harlow from looking up to his fellow Louisville, Kentucky native in his younger days. As Harlow is gearing up to release Come Home The Kids Miss You next week, he took a moment to shout out Tiller by sharing a DM exchange they had when Harlow was 17.

It started last night when Tiller offered some unsolicited support for Harlow, tweeting, “get ready for my bro Jack’s new album. soon you’ll see why he is number 1. MAY 6th.” Harlow responded by writing, “Dreams come true,” and sharing a screenshot of a DM exchange they had on June 30, 2015.

In it, Harlow starts by thanking Tiller for how well he has represented Louisville on a big stage. Harlow then noted the influence Tiller had on him while expressing confidence about where he himself would end up, writing, “I’m a massive fan dude and study your every move. I just turned 17 and I’m very confident in my craft and trajectory of my career.”

After Harlow concluded by calling Tiller a “hometown hero” and expressing his desire to meet, Tiller responded, “thanks man I appreciate it. keep working. anything is possible.”

Indeed, it does seem like anything is possible for Harlow: His debut album, 2020’s Thats What They All Say, went No. 5 and Harlow has two No. 1 singles to his name: “First Class” and his Lil Nas X collaboration “Industry Baby.”

Jack Harlow is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

A$AP Rocky Shooting Reportedly Caught On Video

Back on April 20th, A$AP Rocky was arrested at LAX in connection with a shooting that reportedly occurred back in November of 2021. A man alleges that he got into an argument with Rocky which then eventually led to the rapper letting off some shots. The man claims that Rocky even grazed his hand in the shooting.

This past week, the cops went to Rocky’s home where they ultimately raided it as part of their investigation into what happened. We reported just yesterday that numerous guns were found at Rocky’s home, and the police were in the midst of checking the weapons to see if they were linked to the shooting in any way.

According to TMZ, it has been determined that all of the weapons found in Rocky’s home are legally registered. It was also revealed that none of them were used at the alleged crime scene. While this might be a sigh of relief for Rocky, it has also been reported that there is, indeed, a video of this shooting that is currently in police possession. The video is not public, however, it will certainly be used as evidence as the D.A. looks into whether or not they should formally charge the rapper.

The investigation into the alleged shooting involving Rocky is still ongoing. Stay tuned to HNHH as we will continue to keep you updated on this developing story.

Drake Gets Testy With Joel Embiid After Sixers Eliminate The Raptors

Drake has always been a big fan of the Toronto Raptors, and there is no doubt that he takes his team very seriously. Throughout the first round of the NBA playoffs, Drake has been at all of the Raptors’ home games. Of course, things did not start out well for the Raptors as they went down 0-3 to the Philadelphia 76ers. This led to some trash talk between him and Joel Embiid, who has been killing it for the Sixers squad.

The Raptors were able to force a Game 6 which took place last night in Toronto. In the end, the Raptors got blown out of their own building, allowing the Sixers to move on to the next round of the postseason. As one can imagine, Drake was not happy about this, and after the game, he told Embiid that he was going to get swept by the Miami Heat in the next round.

Following the match, Sixers part-owner Michael Rubin took to Instagram where he said “bye buddy” to Drake. The Canadian superstar did not take kindly to the friendly taunt as he immediately replied with a bevy of laughing emojis and some middle fingers. It’s the perfect response given the beatdown the Sixers laid down on Thursday night. Even if Drake disapproves, he has to acknowledge the fact that the Sixers were able to beat the choker allegations.

As Drake alluded to, the Sixers will now have to play against the Miami Heat in the second round. This is going to be a very tough matchup, although with Embiid and James Harden looking to prove people wrong, it could be a fun series.
