If you’ve been on Twitter lately, you’ve likely seen some of the endless discourse about Netflix’s new Korean drama series, Squid Game. The show hit the streaming service on September 17th, and is already on pace to be be one of the platform’s biggest originals to date.

Despite the obvious craze, some fans have taken to social media to share their complaints about Squid Game – particularly, the poor job that was done on the English translations.

“Not to sound snobby but I’m fluent in Korean and I watched Squid Game with English subtitles,” one viewer tweeted yesterday. “If you don’t understand Korean, you didn’t really watch the same show. Translation was so bad. The dialogue was written so well and zero of it was preserved.”

The tweet has since taken off, earning nearly 20,000 retweets and 90,000 likes. The positive reaction prompted the creator to film a TikTok in which they break down one of the show’s poorly translated scenes.

After the video, they shared another important note, writing, “I want to point out that the reason this happens is because translation work is not respected and also the sheer volume of content. Translators are underpaid and overworked and its not their fault. It’s the fault of producers who don’t appreciate the art.”

The Twitter rant sparked a flood of other angered viewers to share their disappointment with the streamer’s sloppy work.

While many still managed to enjoy Squid Game despite the inaccurate language, others couldn’t help but speculate that Netflix has botched the translation on purpose in order to prevent the director’s message from getting across.

This week, all eyes have been on NBA YoungBoy and Drake to see whose album would land the top spot on the Billboard 200, and according to Chart Data, the Baton Rouge artist’s third studio album, Sincerely, Kentrell, was able to outsell Drake’s commercial juggernaut after all. Alas, NBA YoungBoy has earned his fourth #1 album, and he has also reportedly become the third rapper in Hip-Hop history to top the charts from behind bars, joining the ranks of Lil Wayne and Tupac Shakur.

Despite YoungBoy’s well-deserved victory, the race between Sincerely, Kentrell and Certified Lover Boy was really as tight as previous forecasts suggested. According to Hits Daily Double, YoungBoy’s album only outperformed Drake’s by less than 3,000 album-equivalent units, with Sincerely, Kentrell moving 137,775 and Certified Lover Boy moving 134,949.

Last week, Lil Nas X attempted to dethrone Drake, but MONTERO‘s first-week sales of 129k were ultimately not enough to surpass CLB‘s 170k or so album-equivalent units. Still, Lil Nas X’s debut album remains a commercial force, moving 59,869 album-equivalent units and securing the #3 spot on the U.S. albums chart. Kanye West’s Donda holds out at the #4 position in its fifth week charting, and Olivia Rodrigo’s powerhouse debut SOUR comes in at #5.

Ben Simmons is currently in a big predicament with the Philadelphia 76ers. He has made it crystal clear that he no longer wants to play for the Sixers and that he wants a trade immediately. The Sixers are waiting for the perfect opportunity to trade Simmons, as they don’t want to be placed in a hole due to the value that is being lost.

In the meantime, Simmons is losing out on millions of dollars as he continues to hold out. Today, Simmons lost $8.25 million, and he could stand to lose up to $300,000 per game if this continues. Needless to say, Simmons needs to be traded now, otherwise, he could risk not getting paid for his services this season.

According to a post by u/JetGan on Reddit, Simmons doesn’t seem to care about these losses. In fact, Simmons recently took to Instagram and liked a post that explains just how much dough he is missing out on due to his actions. Clearly, leaving Philly means more to Simmons than anything else right now, which is certainly admirable from the outside looking in.

Prior to his death earlier this year, Gregg Leakes told his wife NeNe that after he was gone, she would have to “move on.” It seems that NeNe is respecting the wishes of her late husband, as she just listed the mansion that they shared for sale.

According to Daily Mail, the pair purchased the 9,791 square-foot property back in 2015 “as a shell” and have since transformed it into a “Mediterranean palace with West Coast vibes.”

The house includes five bedrooms and nine bathrooms, and is located in the Duluth area of Gwinnett County, which is approximately 20 miles from Atlanta. 

The couple initially purchased the home for $2.1 million, but property records report that Leakes has put the house on the market for $4 million.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum‘s residence also happens to be located on a golf course within a gated community, and boasts tons of lush trees and beautiful landscaping.

The home’s kitchen features 10-foot tall cabinetry, Viking appliances, marble countertops and an oversized island. Daily Mail notes that a second full chef’s kitchen was added onto the other side of the house, which makes it an optimal location for entertaining large groups of guests, if that’s your thing.

Leakes’ walk-in closet is also one of the property’s crown jewels, with its many glass doors, jewelry cases, shoe racks, and mirrors.

As if all of that wasn’t enough, the main level also has a walk out pool, complete with a waterfall and a full wrap around covered patio.

Bradley Beal has proven himself to be one of the best shooting guards in the NBA over the past few years, and as a result, the Washington Wizards feel very lucky to have him. While the results on the court haven’t always been there, Beal is still the face of the franchise right now, and they are much better off with him on the roster.

Just a couple of years ago, Beal received a two-year extension following rumors that he might want out of D.C. Since that time, fans have been eager for his next move, especially since that move could spell the end of his time with the franchise.

Today, Beal officially became eligible for a four-year deal worth $181.5 million, and as Chase Hughes reports, the Wizards have already offered him the deal. For now, Beal has yet to make a decision on this matter, and there is a sense that the Wizards and Beal could end up agreeing to another short-term deal that works for both sides. With the Wizards in the midst of a restructuring, it’s easy to see why Beal might not want to commit for the long-term.

Lil Yachty is in the market for a “rich wife,” according to his latest Instagram post. On Thursday afternoon, the rapper shared a photo dump featuring four different selfies, and a cheeky caption letting any would-be sugar mama’s know that it’s time for them to shoot their shot.

“Tryna be a stay at home husband, need a rich wife,” the 24-year-old wrote.

The post as already earned just under 570,000 likes, as well as plenty of comments clowning Lil Boat for his caption.

“I’m rich,” “Ain’t It Funny” singer Vory joked underneath Yachty’s face card.

“Hey handsome,” Bfb Da Packman replied, shooting his shot.

The Shade Room also reposted Lil Yachty’s collection of selfies, seemingly aiming to help the rapper find his perfect (and very wealthy) match.

As you may have expected, the comment section is loaded with hilarious replies to the “66” rapper’s antics.

“You can HELP make me a rich wife,” one person wrote.

“U are the rich wife sis…” another added.

One potential prospect inquired, “how rich we talking? I mean I got $357 in my bank account RIGHT NEOW.”

Back in 2020, Lil Yachty was known to be dating Selangie, but as of April 2021, Hollywood Mask reports that the fashionista is no longer following her former boo on Instagram.

The Georgia-born star has yet to reply to any of the responses in his comment section, but from the looks of things, it’s slim pickings for now, and most people would expect him to be the prize bread-winner in their relationship.

Yesterday, fans were left shook upon learning that the upcoming Super Bowl Half Time Show would feature Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and Mary J. Blige taking the stage together for the first time. 

Naturally, the lineup of legends — many of whom pledge allegiance to the Aftermath cause– was enough to send the fans in a frenzy. Especially given that Dre essentially said the show would coincide with a “new stage of his career.” In other words, his upcoming album that may or may not be the long-awaited Detox.

Whatever ends up happening, the Doc seems excited to hold it down. After the initial announcement, Dre opened up about the significance of the performance “The opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, and to do it in my own backyard, will be one of the biggest thrills of my career,” Dr. Dre said in a statement shared by Rolling Stone. “I’m grateful to Jay-Z, Roc Nation, the NFL, and Pepsi as well as Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar for joining me in what will be an unforgettable cultural moment.”

Dre and Snoop also connected to speak on the show in a video interview, and Snoop shared a behind-the-scenes picture of the two longtime collaborators catching up and having a conversation. The Doggfather shared the image on his Instagram page, commemorating their legendary partnership with some well-earned crowns.
