P Money & Silencer Team Up For “Untraditional”

There’s been plenty of discussions and comments about the state of grime music. Certain rappers from the new generation of artists out of the UK clearly aren’t as connected to the electronically-tinged sound as they are with hip-hop and drill. However, the legends and forefathers of the culture are still making sure the sound stays alive and their contributions to the culture remain acknowledged.

This week, P Money and Silencer, two OGs in the drill scene, came through with a brand new collaborative tape titled, Untraditional. The nine-track project is entirely produced by Silencer while P Money brings his bars to the table. Untraditional EP boasts appearances from a slew of their comrades such as JME, Frisco, Chip, Dizzee Rascal, D Double E, and more.

Lil Wayne Reportedly Skipped Out On $20 Million Lawsuit Deposition

On August 24th, Lil Wayne was supposed to be at a deposition where he would answer questions about his settlement with Birdman of Cash Money Records. According to lawyer Ronald Sweeney, the rapper opted out of the appointment, and is seemingly refusing to cooperate.

Sweeney actually used to be Weezy’s lawyer after Cortez Bryant was fired, although VladTV reports he’s currently suing the “Phone Home” singer for $20 million. The former believes that the latter “stiffed him on commissions he was owed.”

Funnily enough, Lil Wayne also has a suit filed against his former lawyer, also for $20 million, alleging that Sweeney overcharged him for legal services for several years.

Documents from the court reveal that the New Orleans-born star has been dodging the bullet for awhile now by simply refusing to provide available dates for the aforementioned deposition to take place.

Apparently, Wayne’s team has no intentions of scheduling a time until the judge rules a motion to dismiss Sweeney’s $20 million suit.

Recently, Birdman sat down for an interview on the Big Facts podcast, during while he opened up about the financial beef that he and Lil Wayne were able to squash.

“I went to his house on New Year’s Eve two years ago, and I said, ‘Let’s put this shit behind us. How much [money] do you want?’” Birdman said, then going on to claim that he paid Weezy back $20 million more than asked.

The Cash Money Records head honcho also revealed that he once gave Wayne, Drake, and Nicki Minaj between $300 – $500 million each to help support them as they built their careers. Talk about generous.

On the bright side, Tunechi just teamed up with Rich The Kid for the collaborative album “Trust Fund Babies,” which you can listen to here.

Headie One Flips Busta Rhymes On “Cry”

Ever since Headie One emerged from jail last year, he’s been in go-mode. It was evident when he connected with Drake for “Only One Freestyle” which helped propel the hype surrounding his album, Edna. The rapper’s maintained a strong footing on UK’s drill scene over the years but his latest offerings have expanded the sound and shaped it into something of his own.

Over the past few months, Headie has been slowly unveiling new singles. “2 Chains” and “Pound Signs” were immediate bangers that had everyone excited for his next move.

Fortunately, he didn’t let the year pass without dropping a follow-up to Edna. Too Loyal For My Own Good puts the focus back on Headie One as he weaves through the 10-track effort with wicked flows. On “Cry,” the rapper brings some funky vibes to the table as he flips Busta Rhymes’ “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See.”

Lizzo & Chris Brown Linked Up At A Bow Wow Concert & Twitter Doesn’t Know How To Feel

The rumours are true, even our favourite celebrities get star struck from time to time. Over the weekend, Lizzo was one of the many faces in the crowd at Bow Wow’s Millennium Tour in Los Angeles. While hanging out backstage, she crossed paths with Chris Brown, which sent her into a frenzy.

“Can I get a picture with you because you’re my favourite person in the whole f*cking world,” the “Juice” singer can be heard gushing in a clip that’s surfaced from the evening.

Lizzo and her pals (all wearing beautiful Burberry) crowded around Brown for the photo op, which has been circulating on Twitter and receiving plenty of criticism.

As you may know, Brown has built something of a negative reputation for himself over the years. There was the 2009 felony assault charge he faced after attacking Rihanna, and in 2018, an anonymous woman filed a lawsuit against him alleging that she had been sexually assaulted by rapper Young Lo while partying at Brown’s home.

In June of this year, the “With You” singer was placed under police investigation after a woman was allegedly physically assaulted at his house. For some, hearing Lizzo calling a man with such a reputation her “favourite” was hurtful, and they didn’t hesitate to share their feelings with Twitter.

Others, however, were quick to come to Lizzo’s defence, questioning why people wanted to cancel her, but not the dozens of other artists who have collaborated with/shown love to Brown over the years.

As one person pointed out, Rihanna has since collaborated with him since their major blowout, and has even posted snippets on Instagram of her listening to his songs, so it’s safe to assume she’s not as hung up as outsiders may think.

What do you think of Lizzo’s link up with Chris Brown? Is she exhibiting problematic behaviour, or are fans reading too much into the situation?

AE & Amber Rose Appear To Throw Subs At Each Other On IG

Things will get messy when personal matters are brought to a public platform. Amber Rose and AE know that first hand. The former couple, who share a child together, ended up calling it quits earlier this year after AE confirmed that he was not faithful to Rose. To his credit, he did own up to his actions. Amber Rose, however, said that she was still in love with him, despite referring to him as a narcissist.

It’s been a few months since their relationship issues played out on social media but it seems like AE thought it was a good idea to revisit the debacle. The music exec took to his Instagram page where he shared a not-so-subliminal message about their falling out. He shared a post from Lil Duval who referred to cheating as “blessing in disguise.”

“Sometimes getting caught cheating is a blessing in disguise. Cuz if they didn’t catch you, you’d probably still be with the same person,” Duval’s tweet reads. AE shared it to his page with the caption reading, “God’s plan.”

Duval later elaborated on his tweet in the comment section of TheShadeRoom, writing, “Ladies look at it like this, you would’ve never met yo husband had you not caught the dude before him cheating.”

Meanwhile, Amber Rose appeared to catch wind of the post and fired back with an interesting observation. “Finding out yo man a b*tch gotta be the worst gender reveal ever,” her post reads.

Andrew Wiggins Gets Vaccinated After Week Of Public Scrutiny

Just a couple of weeks ago, it was reported that Andrew Wiggins was one of the more prominent stars in the NBA to not be vaccinated. This was a particularly large issue given the fact that he plays for the Golden State Warriors who are situated in a city that has vaccine mandates. Without two doses, Wiggins wouldn’t be able to play any home games, rendering him of no use to the franchise His vaccination status led to a ton of debate, and there was a fear that he would never get the jab.

Over the last week or so, Steph Curry and Draymond Green have commented on the situation, albeit in vastly different ways. Curry said that he wanted everyone to be safe, while Green said it was not his job to convince people of matters that have to do with personal health.

Now, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic, there are no longer any worries concerning Wiggins’ ability to suit up, as he is now fully vaccinated against COVID-19. After being denied a religious exemption, Wiggins decided to get the shot, and he will now have no issues when it comes to playing for the Warriors.

There are still other unvaccinated stars in the league, so it will be interesting to see if they decide to follow suit. After all, their careers could very well depend on it.

J Prince Revealed Kanye West And Drake Have Joined The Fight For Larry Hoover’s Freedom

Drake and Kanye West have not seen eye to eye over the past couple of months. The latest chapter in their long-standing beef saw them trade disses over songs from their albums Certified Lover Boy and Donda. West also doxxed the address to Drake’s mansion in Toronto while the Canadian rapper leaked one of West’s unreleased collaborations with Andre 3000. But now, according to Rap-A-Lot CEO J. Prince, they have come together for a specific reason.

On Instagram, Prince revealed that West and Drake have joined the fight for the freedom of Larry Hoover, the co-founder of Chicago’s Gangsta Disciples. “IF YOU FAIL TO PLAN YOU PLAN TO FAIL,” Prince wrote under a picture of himself standing with West, Hoover’s wife Winndye Jenkins, and their son Larry Hoover Jr. “Good plans in the making to free our brother Larry Hoover with the support of @champagnepapi and @kanyewest.”

West previously showed support for Hoover through “Jesus Lord,” off of Donda. At the end of the song, a voicemail from Hoover Jr. can be heard, where he says, “My father has not called any shots from one of the most secure and segregated prisons in the world / And will not, once released, call any shots for the Gangster Disciples.” He adds, “If my father’s intentions were to lead us to death, destruction / Into the Hell that he has had to live in for the past twenty-six years / Man, he would be dead to me.”

Kodak Black Apologizes To Yung Miami: “Ain’t Mean To Disrespect You”

Kodak Black is one of the most outspoken rappers in the game right now, which has often played to his detriment. The Florida rapper’s vocal support for Donald Trump, among other things, has led him into the fiery pits of controversy. Last weekend, Kodak Black attempted to reignite the spark between him and City Girls’ rapper Yung Miami during a live performance.

He may have failed to shoot his shot but it seems like he wants to offer her a sincere apology. During what appeared to be an intoxicated rant on Twitter, the rapper shared an apology to Miami in a since-deleted, largely incriminating tweet. “Ain’t mean to disrespect you I cry tears I’m sorry @yungmiami305 um turnt up on a pill,” he tweeted. Just days prior, we reported that he failed his drug test, so maybe he should’ve left that last part out.

Miami wasn’t the only person to receive an apology from Yak. The rapper offered a public apology to anyone he’s ever offended in the past. “Please everyone forgive me if I ever offended you, sorry to anyone I’ve wronged,” he wrote in one tweet. “I might be hard to understand sometimes & make some mistakes but nevertheless, I mean good,” he added.

While we’ve yet to hear from Yung Miami, it seems like Kodak Black is trying to do right. Following the death of WizDaWizard, Kodak Black made a public request to Jackboy to squash their feud.
