Lil Durk Says That He Had A “Wayne In His Prime Run”

Lil Durk says that he has been on a run comparable only to Lil Wayne in his prime. Durk recently appeared on Drake’s newest album, Certified Lover Boy.

“I had a Wayne in his prime run I promise THE VOICE,” Durk wrote on Twitter, this week.

He included a screenshot of his Certified Lover Boy feature on “In The Bible.”

The track drew praise for Durk’s bars which shoutout his girlfriend India Royale.

“India Royale cosmetic, I’m just promotin’ my bitch/Drake song do a billion streams for sure, I’m just promotin’ her shit/Nasty with it, take her to Sono Bello and get her some massive titties,” he raps on the song.

Wayne has also praised Durk in the past, sharing his music video for “Kanye Krazy” and calling the recreation of Kanye’s “Famous” video the “Hardest shot ever.”

Durk is not the only rapper of the young generation to compare themselves to Wayne. Back in July, Lil Baby deemed himself “the Wayne of this new generation” on EST Gee’s Bigger Than Life or Death track “5500 Degrees,.”

“Got the finest car, one of a kind, I don’t slow down for much/I got twenty million cash now and still ain’t near enough/I’m goin’ too crazy, I’m the Wayne of this new generation, niggas fugazi/They can’t fuck with us no type of way, these niggas too lazy,” Baby rapped.

Kanye West’s “Donda” Tops Billboard 200 With Year-Best In Album Sales

Kanye West’s new long-awaited album, “Donda,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 309,000 equivalent album units. The new project dethroned Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour, which moved 295,000 units in June, as the most successful debut of the year.

West has now become one of just seven artists to have at least 10 No. 1 albums. The other six are The Beatles (19), Jay-Z (14), Bruce Springsteen (11), Barbra Streisand (11), Eminem (10), and Elvis Presley (10).

In hot pursuit of West, is Drake, who currently had nine albums that have debuted at No. 1. Time will tell whether the Toronto rapper’s newest effort, Certified Lover Boy, will be enough to bring the number of artists with double-digit No. 1 albums to eight.

West’s build-up to Donda included holding three massive live listening events on July 22, Aug. 5, and Aug. 26 that garnered anticipation for the project.

Also helping with West’s successful new release is a star-studded guest line that includes The Weeknd, Jay Electronica, The LOX, Young Thug, the late rapper Pop Smoke, Pusha T, Travis Scott, Lil Baby, Fivio Foreign and Kid Cudi, among others. Andre 3000 even almost made an appearance, until there was a miscommunication which left the Outkast rapper unaware that his verse had to be free of explitives.

Cowboys’ Zack Martin To Miss Season Opener After Positive COVID-19 Test

Cowboys’ Zack Martin, arguably one of the best offensive linemen in the NFL, will miss the team’s opener after testing positive for COVID-19, ahead of Thursday’s matchup with Tampa Bay Buccaneers. League rules dictate that a vaccinated player is allowed to return within five days, while an unvaccinated player is out for a mandatory 10 days. Martin is vaccinated.

“He’s frustrated obviously,” coach Mike McCarthy said. “But hey, this is the world we live in right now.”

The Bucs’ defense ranked as one of the best in the league, last season, so the offensive line will have a tough game cut out for them.

“Zack’s our best player on our offense. I mean most runs, they coming back behind him,” running back Ezekiel Elliott said. “It’s disappointing but you can’t harp on it, can’t let it be more than what it is. I mean, definitely going to miss him, definitely wish he was out there, but we still have a game to go play and we got to try and get the job done.”

Connor McGovern will likely start at right guard in Martin’s place.

The season-opener between the Cowboys and Buccaneers will kick off Thursday, at 8:20 PM, ET.

Beyonce Has A New Song In Venus And Serena Williams’ Upcoming Biopic ‘King Richard’

It’s been five years since the world received a new album from Beyonce, and while that streak will go on for a bit longer, she will return with music within the next couple of months. The singer will have a new track in the closing credits of King Richard, the upcoming biopic about tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams. According to the Los Angeles Times, who is reporting from Telluride Film Festival, where the movie debuted ahead of its November 19 release, the upcoming song is titled “Be Alive” and it’s co-written by Roc Nation signee DIXON.

The news comes after Beyonce shared an exciting update about her future. “I feel a renaissance emerging, and I want to be part of nurturing that escape in any way possible,” she said in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar. “I’ve been in the studio for a year and a half. Sometimes it takes a year for me to personally search through thousands of sounds to find just the right kick or snare. One chorus can have up to 200 stacked harmonies. Still, there’s nothing like the amount of love, passion, and healing that I feel in the recording studio.”

She concluded, “After 31 years, it feels just as exciting as it did when I was nine years old. Yes, the music is coming!”

R. Kelly Had Sex With Aaliyah As A Minor, Jane Doe Witness Will Testify: Report

A woman only identified as Jane Doe #7 plans to testify that she witnessed R. Kelly having sex with Aaliyah in 1994 when the late R&B singer was just 15-years-old. Doe was in a  girl group that provided background vocals and dancing for R. Kelly as he toured in the 1990s.

“Jane Doe Number Seven is prepared to testify that in light of her relationship with the defendant, which included the fact that they had sexual contact with each other when she was a minor, she was in a position to view the defendant engaged in sexual activity with Jane Doe Number One [Aaliyah],” a legal document that has been filed by prosecutors and obtained by AllHipHop.com explains.

Prosecutors believe that the evidence provided by Jane Doe #7’s testimony regarding Aaliyah is crucial because it would show “the relationship of trust and loyalty between the defendant and Smith and helps explain why he would confide in Smith regarding the true nature of his relationship with Jane Doe #1 and his need to marry Jane Doe #1 as a minor.”

Earlier this week, the minister who officiated Kelly and Aaliyah’s illegal wedding spoke at the trial about his experience.

DJ Yella Says “Straight Outta Compton” Biopic Was “Like 70% Correct”

DJ Yella, of N.W.A., says that the biopic, Straight Outta Compton, which details the rise of L.A.’s legendary Hip Hop group, was about 70 percent correct. He says that his gripes were likely the result of having to condense their story down to the length of a movie.

“Our first gold single and gold album was by J.J. Fad,” he explained in a recent interview with HipHopDX. “‘Supersonic’ happened to be the first one. Even though we did the ‘Boyz n Tha Hood’ and a couple of EPs, that’s all we did. But J.J. Fad blew up real fast and then it was nonstop. The gates was open, and they didn’t close until years later. But I understand what they was trying to do. They was trying to get too much into the movie.

He continued: “There was already some stuff that got left out. The movie was like 70 percent correct, because it was just too much to pack into that little two hour and 20 minutes. I guess it would have been too much trying to touch on that. A few things that didn’t get touched, but yeah. It’s a shame they didn’t get even mentioned. Even like Bone Thugs-n-Harmony. They sold 10 million records. They only got mentioned by cassette tape.”

Straight Outta Compton was released in 2015 and met with widespread praise. One person who did not like the film, however, was former N.W.A. manager Jerry Heller, who filed a $112 million lawsuit against NBCUniversal two months after its release.

Harvey Weinstein Claims Angelina Jolie Is Lying About Assault Accusation For Book Sales

Disgraced film industry mogul Harvey Weinstein says that Angelina Jolie’s new story about being sexually assaulted by him in the ’90s is not true. In a statement released by his assistant, he claimed to TMZ that she has made it up to sell her new book.

“It’s very clear to me that this is for more sales on Angie’s book. There was never an assault, and never an attempt to assault,” the statement reads. “It is brazenly untrue and clickbait publicity. You’re Angelina Jolie, every male, and female in the world, I’m sure, shows interest in you. Is the whole world assaulting you?”

“If you get yourself out of the room, you think he attempted but didn’t, right? The truth is that the attempt and the experience of the attempt is an assault,” Jolie stated in a new interview with The Guardian. “It was beyond a pass. It was something I had to escape. I stayed away and warned people about him. I remember telling Jonny [Lee Miller], my first husband, who was great about it, to spread the word to other guys – don’t let girls go alone with him.”

In the interview, Jolie had explained that she and her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, fought over his appearance in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds, which was distributed that Weinstein’s company. Jolie says he “teamed up” with Weinstein.

“We fought about it. Of course, it hurt,” Jolie explained.

TMZ reports that sources close to Brad say he never “teamed up” with Weinstein for Inglourious Basterds, but instead it just happened to get distributed by TWC.
