Southside Says He Doesn’t Want Yung Miami Back

Southside and Yung Miami have one child together, and they seemed to have a pretty strong relationship, but they weren’t able to keep up the love for the sake of their daughter. The couple broke up almost one year ago, and they have been respectful of each other since then. Fans have been wondering about the possibility of them ever getting back together though, especially considering Diddy (Yung Miami’s rumored beau) was recently spotted kissing Joie Chavis.

When a fan asked Southside if he would consider getting back together with Yung Miami, the producer was open about his feelings, revealing that he’s moved past that chapter of his life.

“Go get Caresha back,” said the fan in his comments.

“Nah I’m good loosing [sic] people can make u realize 2 things either they made u better or u better with out them I wish her da best and I’ll always be here for but I’ve closed that chapter of my life,” wrote Southside.

Many of Yung Miami’s fans believe that Southside has been wanting to say something like this for months, but he waited for somebody to ask him about Caresha in his comments to take the bait. Others are happy that he was polite in his response.

Do you think they’re better off without each other, or should they get back together?

Big Daddy Kane Deems J. Cole His “Favorite MC Of The Era”

The legendary Big Daddy Kane is one of hip-hop’s most influential lyricists, epitomizing the archetype of “your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper.” And while he’s certainly quick to give flowers to emcees from his own era, Kane recently made a point to celebrate his favorite emcee from today’s generation.

“A lot of people are coming to people like us now and giving us our flowers while we still here,” begins Kane, standing next to Cole. “But listen, damn that. I wanna give this young brother right here his flowers. On the real. I want this brother right here to know that he is my favorite MC out right now. This is the brother right here that makes me feel like hip-hop is still alive and here to say, when I listen to this here brother spit and I listen to his music.”

Akon Says The Rich Have More Problems Than The Poor

As fans, collaborators, and various other people in the entertainment industry mourn the passing of Michael K. Williams, everyone from Lil Mama and Wendell Pierce to 50 Cent has publicly spoken on the late beloved actor. On Tuesday, TMZ caught up with Akon at Petrossian in Los Angeles, and the artist revealed that Williams was actually a dear friend of his.

According to TMZ, Akon and Michael K. Williams hadn’t seen each other since the pandemic, but the Konvict Muzik founder immediately showed love to Michael K. Williams, saying that he was “an amazing person, super funny, [and] super talented.” When asked what Williams’ death meant to him, Akon took a moment to reflect on the struggles that celebrities face in private, despite constantly showing the public a “facade of success.”

“This business creates this like environment where everyone’s wearing a mask,” Akon says, explaining how the entertainment industry can yield distressing circumstances for actors, artists, and everyone in between. “No one tells you really is going on in your life.”

Akon then let off a hot take for the ages, in which he claimed that life is a little tougher for rich and famous people than poor people. “The famous in the rich go through more issues than the poor,” the Ain’t No Peace artist claims. “You know, when they say, ‘More money, more problems,’ that’s a real thing.”

See the clip of Akon’s impromptu interview with TMZ below and let us know in the comments if you think that Akon is on-point of out of touch with his hot take about the rich and famous.

GRIP Delivers Visuals For “Momma Told Me!”

Shady Records’ latest signee GRIP has officially linked with HNHH to premiere the new visuals for “Momma Told Me!”

A standout track on his brand new album I Died For This?!, the track is an effective showcase of the Atlanta lyricist’s technical prowess — not to mention his clever mind for wordplay and references. It’s no surprise he opted to choose this one as the project’s next single, which comes to life through a lively new video directed by Caleb Seales.

For the occasion, GRIP dons a preacher’s robes and leads a congregation of loyal followers, blessing them with a sermon of straight bars. The setting shifts for the second verse, mirroring the increased urgency in GRIP’s flow; in lieu of the holy setting of verse one, the second verse reveals the double life of our favorite lyrically-inclined preacher.

Alas, all good things must come to an end — and more often than not, timing is never in our favor. Right as he’s about to engage in what can only be described as a carnal sin, he’s met with a few unwanted visitors at the door. It’s no surprise that GRIP opted for something more narrative-driven, given his penchant for crafting conceptually driven projects. Speaking of which, be sure to check out his brand new album I Died For This?Seriously — don’t let it fly under your radar.

Memphis Bleek Explains Why He Thinks A Jay-Z And Nas Verzuz Is Out Of The Question

In all of the furor over many of the Verzuz battles over the past year and a half, one potential matchup has been posed more than almost any other for obvious reasons: Jay-Z vs. Nas. However, it’s also the one that seems unlikeliest — both for, again, the obvious reasons (they are both incredibly busy with other things) and for some not-so-obvious ones. Longtime Jay-Z affiliate Memphis Bleek gave his own reason, however, and it’s got Twitter in a tizzy debating whether or not he might be right.

In an interview with Bally Sports Network’s Brandon “Scoop” Robinson, Bleek explained why he thinks a Jay-Z and Nas Verzuz is out of the question: Because, in his opinion, Nas doesn’t have enough hits for a hits battle. “It’s no comparison,” he started. “It’s just that Nas don’t have enough songs to compete. No disrespect to him, he just don’t. Jay can battle someone with just his B Sides Concert catalog and it’d still be better than people’s A sides.” While it’s understandable that Bleek would hold such reverence for his former mentor, some on Twitter were quick to try to rebut his claims, offering examples of Nas’ worthiness to compete with Jay. Some even went as far as impugning Bleek’s catalog.

Some, however, agreed with him, pointing out Nas’ suspect beat choices over the past 20 years, while others gave more measured responses allowing Nas to “compete” but not to “win” in a hypothetical Verzuz. For what it’s worth, in those battles where it truly seemed a win or a loss was at stake, many of the obvious picks wound up flustered by poor sequencing choices and their opponents’ willingness to outperform them — see: The LOX vs. Diplomats, just a few weeks ago. However, as mentioned, it’s probably not a likely matchup just because Jay and Nas seem to have no interest. Check out more replies below though, and feel free to weigh in on Twitter.

Diddy & Joie Chavis Kiss On A Yacht: Twitter Reacts

Diddy must have magic powers (or just too much money for his own good) because the hip-hop mogul seemingly gets with anybody that he wants. After being linked to rapper Yung Miami in dating rumors, Diddy made pop culture fanatics do a double-take after he was photographed on a yacht in Capri, Italy with Joie Chavis, Future and Bow Wow’s ex-girlfriend, locking lips in a passionate smooch.

During his vacation in Italy, Diddy was caught kissing Joie Chavis, seemingly confirming dating rumors. Chavis is the mother of Future and Bow Wow’s children, and she’s been around the entertainment industry for years. With Diddy getting wrapped up in new dating rumors every other month though, the world was shocked to learn that he had moved on from Yung Miami, making time for Joie on his boat.

As people continue to react to Diddy and Joie’s kiss, many are calling Diddy a “sugar daddy” and others are joking that the mogul loves to spend money on all of his female friends, but not on his artists.

Somebody also pointed out how convoluted their relationship is, remarking that Diddy and Joie are now part of a love triangle octagon.

“So Lori Harvey used to date Future and Bu Thiam, who are also Joie Chavis’ exes. Joie has a baby with Future, who also has a baby with Ciara, and Joie also has a baby with Bow Wow, who used to date Ciara. And now Joie is with Diddy, who used to date Lori Harvey. It’s a lot y’all,” they said.
