Rylo Rodriguez Shares New Song “Pallbearers”

Evert well-established rapper has a duty to bring up a new artist under their wing. Lil Wayne brought Drake into the game, Jay-Z brought Kanye, and Gucci Mane and Young Thug are practically responsible for introducing a solid 75% of artists from Atlanta, if not more. Lil Baby has certainly become a pop star in his own right but in the past few years, he’s also introduced some incredible new artists under the 4PF label. Of course, 42 Dugg has been crushing the game but Rylo Rodriguez has been on the come-up as well.

Coming off of his recent appearance alongside Lil Keed On Millie Go Lightly’s “Jealousy,” Rylo Rodriguez just blessed fans with his latest record, “Pallbearer.” The record arrives days after he linked up with Nardo Wick for their new collaboration, “Murder.”

Quotable Lyrics

Fat Joe Claims Everyone Is Afraid To Go Up Against Busta Rhymes On “Verzuz”

He regularly receives high praise from his peers and it seems that Busta Rhymes may have left some of them shook. Verzuz has evolved by leaps and bounds since its COVID-19 quarantine inception, and in the last year and a half, music fans have been glued to their screens as our favorite artists have joined together to celebrate their catalogs.

While some still view Verzuz as a light-hearted battle among Hip Hop and R&B circles, others would rather leave the playful beef behind and just listen to the music. The most recent came courtesy of Fat Joe and Ja Rule, and once again, fans are name-dropping their choices for potential upcoming battles.

Fat Joe recently weighed in once again and this time, he had a few words about why we have yet to see Busta Rhymes take his legacy to the Verzuz stage.

“Busta Rhymes has a problem with a Verzuz. Fat Joe scared to do Verzuz against Busta Rhymes and so is everybody else,” he said. “You gotta understand, sometimes you ever notice, you see boxers and they knock everybody out? People be scared to fight those boxers. Busta Rhymes is gonna out-rap, out-perform anybody that goes up in the Verzuz with him. That’s a fact!”

Joe offered up an alternative Verzuz appearance. “You might have to be an honorary, they gotta give you the check for no reason.”

Do you agree that Bussa Buss stands alone, or do you think there is a formidable opponent out there?

Soulja Boy Drops Off “Act Up”

Soulja Boy has been on a spree this year. He kicked off 2020 by announcing a joint deal with Virgin Music before beginning the release of a spree of music. A few singles, like “Rick N Morty” and “She Make It Clap” became immediate highlights while many of the song singles simply fell into the abyss of Soundcloud. Meanwhile, the rapper came through with the release of his project, Big Draco in the summer which, unfortunately, didn’t do the type of damage you would’ve expected after such an impressive promotional run.

No matter what, the rapper continues going. After dropping off his single, “Do My Lil Dance” last week, he returned with his latest single, “Act Up.”

Check out the latest from Soulja Boy below and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.

Quotable Lyrics

Eryn Martin Drops Debut Album “EDOG, Vol. 2”

Back in 2019, we included rising Canadian singer/songwriter Eryn Martin in our article, 3 New Artists You Should Hear. The release of “Ball” put a new set of eyes on her from across Canada and in the United States. At that point, she had only released her project, EDOG independently. However, the flurry of singles she’s released across 2020 leading up to the Still Ballin’ EP earlier this year proved that she was on pace to have a breakout moment soon.

It seems like it’s possible before the end of the year comes around. Last week, she shared her debut album, EDOG VOL. 2. Laced with 9 songs with no features, Martin’s reverb-heavy vocals take center stage as they delve into an ethereal pop-trap soundscape.”[EDOG VOL.2] is a collection of my thoughts, my stories, the way I live, and how I grew up,” she said of the new project.

Jayda Cheaves Calls Gun Possession Arrest An “Honest Mistake”

This controversy is a thing of the past for Jayda Cheaves. The mogul and mother of Lil Baby’s child recently made her way to Jamaica to celebrate her birthday in extravagant style, but upon attempting to return home via a private jet, authorities reportedly located two firearms. Cheaves and a man named Gregory Wright were detained.

After reportedly pleading guilty to two counts of illegal gun possession and paying over $5,000 in fines, they both were released. Cheaves reappeared on social media with a message of gratitude for her friends and fans.

Eminem Surprised The First Ten Customers At His Newly-Opened Restaurant By Personally Serving Them

Today was the grand opening of Eminem’s new restaurant Mom’s Spaghetti. The eatery is, of course, inspired by a popular line from the rapper’s Oscar-winning track “Lose Yourself.” “His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy,” he raps on the track. “There’s vomit on his sweater already, mom’s spaghetti.” He turned the line into a promotional event for his 2017 album, Revival, and launched a pop-up dedicated to Detroit hospital workers last year. With Mom’s Spaghetti now open for business, the rapper made a special appearance there to ring in opening day.

The first ten people that showed up at Mom’s Spaghetti were greeted by Eminem himself, who was manning the order window of the restaurant, which is located on Woodward Avenue according to the Detroit Free Press. He handed out meals, placed orders, and took selfies with those who wanted to capture the moment. Eminem and his crew eventually departed the restaurant in pair of SUVs that were momentarily chased by a large group of fans.

This comes as Eminem is preparing to deliver new music. He’s reportedly set to release an untitled song that features Mozzy, Polo G, and Skylar Grey on Friday, October 1. The single is also slated to appear on the soundtrack for Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage, which also arrives on Friday.

Coi Leray Says Lil Durk Stopped Her From Quitting Music: ‘This Man Right Here Believed In Me’

Over the last year, Coi Leray has become one of music’s newest stars. The New Jersey rapper went big with her viral hit “No More Parties,” which received a remix from Lil Durk. She’s also done collaborations with Pooh Shiesty and others. Despite her popularity, Leray has been criticized for a number of things, from her music to her physical appearance. There was a point where it became too much for her to handle. She even almost called it quits. However, one of her past collaborators changed her mind.

In a post on her Instagram Story, Leray revealed that Lil Durk stopped her from quitting music. “Almost gave up one day and he told me don’t ever stop,” she wrote next to a picture of herself and the Chicago rapper. “Most artist show love from a distance on some weird sh*t, but this man right here believed in me, believe[d] in ‘No More Parties’ and been behind me ever since. He know a star when he see one, and I just wanna thank you for all your support. OTF FOREVER.”

The rapper recently dropped her latest single, “Twinnem,” which was the follow-up to her confident single, “Okay Yeah,” released last month.

Pooh Shiesty is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Jay-Z Pushing For Release Of Inmate Serving 20-Years For Weed

Jay-Z’s billion-dollar status has allowed him to cop luxury timepieces that he gets to flex in the Hamptons. However, it’s also afforded him an exceptional legal team that he’s brought on numerous times to help fight against injustice. A 55-year-old fan named Valon Vailes who is currently sitting behind bars on a 20-year-sentence for cannabis possession is now being backed by Hov and his attorney Alex Spiro in an attempt to get him out of prison on a “compassionate release.”

Per PageSix, Spiro filed a second motion requesting for a “compassionate release” after the first motion was dismissed over Vailes vaccination record. Spiro said that the request for his release never made any mention of COVID-19 or “any COVID-19-related argument as
a basis for arguing in favor of a reduced sentence.”

Vailes was found guilty of conspiring to possess with the intent to distribute more than one ton of marijuana. He was hit with a 20-year sentence, along with an additional 10-year sentence.

Vales initially sent a letter to Jay-Z from New York’s Otisville Correctional Facility pleading for help to fight for his release. “This correspondence is a plea to ask for your help with the intent to campaign for my clemency,” the letter read. “13 and a half years is a long time to be still incarcerated over a substance that has become the ultimate green rush.”

Vailes continued to explain that his family is in need of him to help support them, especially with four children and three granddaughters. “It is a bittersweet reality that I am a casualty and a commodity of this system filled with injustice,” he concluded.

After Jay-Z read the letter, he brought on Spiro who has been fighting for Vailes.

“Mr. Vailes has exhausted his administrative remedies with the [Federal Bureau of Prisons]; extraordinary and compelling reasons warrant compassionate release in his case; the relevant factors support release; and Mr. Vailes is not a danger to the community,” Spiro argued. “It is unjust to allow Mr. Vailes to remain in prison when, if sentenced under the current law, and with his good behavior credits, he would have already been released.”

Boosie Badazz Says MLK “Would Be Pissed Off” About People Pirating “My Struggle”

Between being kicked off of Instagram for the umpteenth time and people pirating his biopic, Boosie Badazz has had enough. The rapper recently shared My Struggle, a film about his life that his fans have enjoyed. Boosie hosted a premiered with his family and famous friends, and while it is a celebratory moment for the Louisiana legend, he has repeatedly taken to social media with his frustrations.

Not only has Boosie lashed out against Mark Zuckerberg once again over his Instagram ban, but he also sent irate tweets about people unwilling to spend money to buy his film.

Boosie received high praise from Bill Cosby after the famed comedian penned a message of support to the rapper about his movie. However, amid his thankful response, Boosie went off on those who have opted to bootleg his film.

“IF U WATCHING MY MOVIE ON THESE YOUTUBE N FACEBOOK SITES ‘F*CK YOU’.I PUT MY ALL INTO THIS FILM SO I CAN FEED MY FAMILY N U REFUSE TO RESPECT IT. IF U WATCHING MY MOVIE RIGHT NOW FOR FREE LOOK AT THE FILM N IMAGINE ME LOOKING AT YOU SAYIN ‘F*CK YOU,'” the rapper tweeted before bringing Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. into the conversation.

“MARTIN LUTHER KING would be pissed off right now to see y’all mfs not supporting black excellence and buying my movie but going to YouTube and other websites making the WHITE MAN RICH ! #UncleTomAssN*ggas,” he said. “THE ONES WHO SUPPORTED MY FILM I LOVE U WITH ALL MY HEART [red heart emoji] U DIDNT HAVE TO DO IT BUT YOU F*CK WITH ME ENOUGH TO WANNA SEE ME WIN [fire emojis] NOW THATS REAL.”

Charli Baltimore Details Biggie’s Initial Reaction To 2Pac’s “Hit ‘Em Up”

When we’re talking about the most disrespectful records in hip-hop, “Hit ‘Em Up” definitely sits high on that list. While ‘Pac wasn’t necessarily flexing his lyrical prowess on that record, it was the tone and vigor behind his cruel shots that made it one of the most definitive records of the 1990s, regardless of its intent.

During a recent interview with Art Of Dialogue, former Murder Inc. signee Charli Baltimore went into depth about the first time Biggie Smalls heard “Hit ‘Em Up.” She recounted that the two were walking to a music video shoot when a “somber looking” Puffy emerged insistent on playing the record for everyone.

“He was like real somber looking and he was like, ‘Yo! I gotta play you this record.’ And that’s the first time we heard ‘Hit ‘Em Up,’” she recounted. “The whole mood just changed. A video shoot is supposed to be upbeat, happy, whatever and Big is like, ‘Are you fucking serious right now? Serious? This is what we’re doing right now?’ It was just shock. It was just crazy.”

Baltimore explained that Tupac initially took issue with “Who Shot Ya? because he believed the song was in response to the Quad Studios shooting. This, she said, caught Biggie off-guard because of the relationship that he once had with Tupac. Plus, “Who Shot Ya?” was recorded prior to the shooting.

“You got this dude just riding on you and riding on you and you not knowing what’s what,” she explained. “‘Who Shot Ya?‘ is not about ‘Pac… It was written before ‘Pac got shot but of course, people are going to hear that and say, ‘OK, yeah that n-gga Big is going at this n-gga now and it’s going to be back and forth.’ But in all actuality, that record was already written. When you listen to it, with all that was going on, it does sound like, ‘Yeah n***a, I’m on your ass,’ and it wasn’t like that.”
