Lil Yachty Shares Texts With XXXTentacion On 3-Year Anniversary Of His Passing

Lil Yachty had a close bond with late rapper XXXTentacion. While they never collaborated on any music together, they had some work planned out amongst themselves for future songs. The Atlanta-based Lil Yachty was a big fan of XXX’s music and from the looks of their text message exchange, which Boat shared on the three-year anniversary of X’s passing, they fully intended on minting their friendship in the studio.

Today marks the three-year anniversary of XXXTentacion’s tragic passing. The superstar rapper was well-connected in the music industry so his death felt like a major blow to his peers, fans, and music executives worldwide. The incredible songwriter will never be duplicated, and that’s something that Lil Yachty is well aware of.

The rapper posted a text message thread with XXXTentacion, talking to the artist about his lyrics, trips to New Zealand, and much more. Throughout the conversation, X checked in on Yachty’s mental health, asking if he was doing alright and telling him that he looked tired. That’s a quality that many of X’s friends have spoken about, pointing out that he was always showing love and care to his loved ones.

With unmatched energy, it’s safe to say there will never be another XXXTentacion. Read through Lil Yachty’s tribute post below.

Logan Paul Believes He Can Beat Up Mike Tyson

Logan Paul is fresh off of his fight against Floyd Mayweather and after making millions of dollars, it is clear that he is ready for more. There are certainly going to be some big opportunities coming his way and while the Floyd fight didn’t sell as well as some were hoping, there is still a lot of money to be made out there.

In fact, during a recent episode of “Impaulsive,” Logan made the claim that his lawyer brought up a potential fight against Mike Tyson. Iron Mike is 54 years old but is still going strong, and a fight against Logan would prove to be intriguing. While most would take Tyson in that fight, Logan seems as confident as ever that he could take the legend down.

“Someone mentioned Mike Tyson,” Logan explained. “My lawyer mentioned it and he’s like, ‘Nah, Tyson will rip your head off, you don’t stand a chance.’ I’m like, ‘I just went through all this.’ You can’t tell me I can’t beat Mike Tyson. He’s old, old.”

When you take their age gap into consideration, a win for Logan wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility. However, it simply wouldn’t be that impressive as he has much more agility and endurance when you consider how he’s in his 20s.

Either way, we’re sure someone out there is trying to make this happen, and if the money’s right, who knows…maybe Mike will do it.

T.I. Shares Heartfelt Birthday Message For His Daughter Deyjah

On Friday, June 18th, T.I. posted a happy birthday message to his daughter Deyjah on his official Instagram, along with several family pictures throughout the years.

The Grand Hustle mogul captioned the heartwarming message: “I love you to no end. Even through tumultuous times I still think the world of you. I’m always proud and incredibly impressed by your revolutionary perspective. Your words are soft and seldom heard but always impactful and profound at the same time. ” The post has since accumulated over 167,500 likes and counting.

On the topic of tumultuous times, the “About the Money” rapper’s parenting skills have come under fire in recent memory. Last year when the rapper’s hit VH1 show, T.I. & Tiny: Friends and Family Hustle, aired its latest season, viewers took T.I. to task over how he parents his teenage daughters. After certain comments went particularly viral, Deyjah came forward to announce that she will no longer be discussing her father on social media.

While a daughter’s birthday is certainly a joyous occasion, it’s not all smooth sailing for the Atlanta rapper. T.I, along with his wife Tiny, continues to face the fallout from the sexual assault allegations made against them last year. Alleged victims from the Los Angeles and Las Vegas areas persist in their allegations, though the cases that were presented against the couple in Las Vegas have been dismissed.

With the release of his new song “What It’s Come To,” T.I. has appeared to find inspiration amidst the scandal. While he did not talk about the situation outright, he did allude to the allegations brought against him and his wife. Lyrics to his latest single include “Willing to face whatever consequences for his vision…while I’m up against some lyin ass b*tches.”

On a more positive note for the Harris family, check out Tip’s birthday message to Deyjah below.

Trevor Noah Dove Deep Into How Spotify Treats Non-Major Artists On ‘The Daily Show’

For years now, streaming services like Spotify have faced criticism about how much they pay the artists whose music they depend on. It’s a nuanced situation, so on The Daily Show last night, Trevor Noah broke it down and spoke about how hard it is on make money on Spotify as a non-major artist.

After sharing a compilation of news clips that charted the music industry’s shift from CDs to digital downloads to streaming, Noah got into it, starting by calling streaming “the best thing to happen to the music industry since the government created LSD.” He then noted, though, that while streaming services have “arguably saved music,” they’re “not exactly sharing the wealth.”

Noah shared more video clips, ones illustrating how little artists get paid when their songs get streamed. Then, Noah got into Spotify specifically, giving them credit for providing smaller artists with valuable exposure. He went on to point out, though, that regardless of who subscribers listen to, a hefty portion of their money still goes to major artists. As Noah put it, “Even if you are way too cool to listen to the top ten artists on Spotify, they still get most of your money. And the bands that you do listen to get almost none of it.”

Noah concluded by noting, “For now, maybe the most important things for artists to do is get the word out to their fans.” Then, he introduced Aloe Blacc, who has been vocal about issues with streaming music since he earned just $4,000 from streaming for Avicii’s international hit “Wake Me Up,” which he co-wrote. For The Daily Show, Blacc wrote and performed a new version of his “I Need A Dollar,” with lyrics modified to directly address Spotify and streaming problems.

Anthony Davis Gives An Update On His Groin Injury During Twitch Stream

Anthony Davis was one of the best players in the NBA during the 2019-2020 season. He won his first-ever NBA title with the Los Angeles Lakers, and throughout the Finals, some wondered if he would get Finals MVP. This past season, Davis had a fairly slow start and it seemed as though he was battling through some injuries. Eventually, Davis’ health deteriorated and he missed numerous games with calf problems. In the playoffs, Davis began to have groin issues, and eventually, the Lakers were ousted.

Since that time, Davis has been spending time at home where he can be found streaming on Twitch. In his most recent broadcast, Davis addressed his fans in the chat by noting that his groin injury is starting to feel a lot better and that when it comes to next season, he will be 100 percent ready to go. As far as the Lakers as a team are concerned, Davis seems confident that they can get back into the upper echelon of the Western Conference.

“I feel good tho, chat. Groin feels real good. Trust me, we’re going to be ready for next year. We’re going to be right. We’re going to be right,” Davis said excitedly.

While Davis might have a ways to go in his recovery, the season is still four months away, which means he should be more than okay once October rolls around. If he really is at 100 percent by then, the rest of the league will have to be on notice.

Donovan Mitchell & Mike Conley Receive Injury Status Updates

Despite having a 2-0 series lead against the Los Angeles Clippers, the Utah Jazz are now down 3-2 to a team that is operating without Kawhi Leonard. It has been a rough few games especially with Donovan Mitchell getting injured. His ankle has been acting up over the last few outings and it’s clear that he hasn’t been playing at 100 percent. This has allowed the Clippers to push the Jazz to the brink of elimination, and if Mitchell isn’t back tonight, the Jazz are at risk of being bounced out early.

The Jazz have also been without Mike Conley who is their starting point guard. His hamstring issues have kept him out of the playoffs and if there was a time where the Jazz could use him, it would be right now. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Conley is likely going to be in the lineup tonight, while Mitchell is a game-time decision.

In the playoffs, a game-time decision usually means the player is going to be in the lineup, especially when you consider the stakes. However, this isn’t always what’s best for a player’s health, as we’ve seen players like Anthony Davis become liabilities while trying to play through an injury.

Hopefully, both Jazz players are ready to go, and we can get a true sense of what this Utah team is made of.

Russ Keeps The Songs Coming With “Rather Be Myself”

Russ has proven to be a polarizing artist, though that hasn’t stopped him from impressing some of the game’s elite lyricists; look no further than his acclaimed CHOMP EP, featuring appearances from KXNG Crooked, Benny The Butcher, Black Thought, and more. Now, Russ has tapped in with another respected veteran, producer Jake One, for his latest single “Rather Be Myself.”

“I play forever dawg, I’m focused on longevity,” he spits, over Jake’s laid-back and smooth production. “I try to run my race, and not care about who’s ahead of me / cause comparison is the recipe for depression and questionin’ your integrity, hope I don’t let it get to me.” Opting to pull back rather than barring out, Russ’ slick flow is given ample space to shine as he reflects on some of his innermost struggles. If you’re a fan of his more lyrically driven material, be sure to check out “Rather Be Myself” now and sound off in the comments.

Dirk Nowitzki Earns New Role With The Dallas Mavericks

It’s been a wild week for the Dallas Mavericks organization as there has been a lot of drama circulating the team. It all started when a report came out claiming that Luka Doncic and Mavericks players were upset with head coach Rick Carlisle. This report also stated that Luka didn’t like the Mavericks front office and that things were beginning to go south, especially in light of his upcoming contract negotiation. Yesterday, Carlisle stepped down from his head coaching role while the team’s general manager also stepped down, days prior.

Now, it is being reported by Marc j. Spears that the Dallas Mavericks have hired former player and NBA legend Dirk Nowitzki as an advisor. Nowitzki will now get to help the team make some difficult decisions over the coming months. Of course, these decisions include hiring a new coach and general manager.

It remains to be seen how this will go for the Mavericks, who seem to be in disarray right now. Had the Mavs defeated the Clippers in the first round, the conversations surrounding the team would be a lot different, however, they have a superstar to keep happy, and if they make any wrong moves, he could be gone sooner rather than later.

Keep it locked to HNHH for as we will be sure to keep you informed on everything happening in the NBA.
