GRAMMY® Award-nominated Jamaican pop star Shenseea delivered a high-energy performance at the 12th anniversary of Beach Road Trip (BRT) Weekend Block Party, the world’s biggest Caribbean music festival. This year’s event, typically held in Coney Island, took place for the first time in Brush Park, New York, from July 12th to July 14th. The festival culminated in the BRT All White Grand Finale featuring Shenseea and Masicka.
Shenseea captivated the audience in a SEKS matching two-piece denim set with green flame detailing. She performed fan favorites like “Die For You” and “Rebel” in collaboration with Zum. A lively dance contest with fans onstage added to the excitement. The evening climaxed with “Hit and Run,” featuring Masicka and Di Genius, from her recently released sophomore album ‘Never Gets Late Here.’
This performance sets the stage for Shenseea’s highly anticipated ‘Never Gets Late Here’ North American tour, kicking off August 16th across 12 cities. Her album has received acclaim, including Rolling Stone’s praise for its “main pop girl energy” and a three-week stint on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. The album features artists like Wizkid, Anitta, and Coi Leray, blending genres to reinforce Shenseea’s signature sound.
Shenseea recently distributed care packages to over 300 victims of Hurricane Beryl in her home parish of St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. She also made her debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, partnered with Adidas for the Jamaica Football Federation’s new jersey kits, and was featured on the “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” soundtrack. Her cover of “No Woman No Cry” for the “Bob Marley: One Love” movie soundtrack further solidified her status as a genre-bending artist.
