Shannon Sharpe Reacts To Carolina Panthers First Pick

Shannon Sharpe knows what a successful NFL player might look like. Sharpe was a part of multiple Super Bowl-winning teams. As well as being one of the greatest tight ends to ever play the game. Now, the NFL legend is most notably known for delivering hot takes with Skip Bayless on Undisputed. However, that doesn’t mean that Sharpe’s football knowledge should be slighted. On Friday’s edition of the show, the hosts discussed their feelings on the selections of round one.

Sharpe believes the Carolina Panthers have hit a home run with their selection of Bryce Young. The Alabama star was the consensus first pick for the last couple of weeks. After last night, it finally became official. Sharpe, like the Panthers, believes that Young has all the skills to have a successful career. “If you watch this kid play he has it all: touch, velocity, ability to beat you inside & outside the pocket. The ceiling is the Super Bowl.” Sharpe had high praise for the former Heisman winner.

Shannon Sharpe Believes Super Bowl Is Ceiling For Young

Young’s selection wasn’t much of a secret as the draft slowly moved forward. However, the rest of the quarterbacks in the draft were uncertain about their future. But C.J. Stroud and Anthony Richardson didn’t have to wait long to hear their names called. Stroud was selected second overall by the Houston Texans. As Richardson found his home with the Indianapolis Colts fourth pick. However, not every quarterback got the good news of where they would play next season.

Kentucky quarterback Will Levis did not get selected in the first round on Thursday. Which doesn’t come as a surprise for many around the league. Including Sharpe, who earlier this week didn’t see the rising hype in Levis. Now Levis will have to wait to hear his name in the second round. As for Young, he will be arriving in Carolina this weekend to begin his work at turning around the franchise. Do you agree with Shannon Sharpe on the talents of Young?
