Back in 2008, there was a ton of pressure on the United States men’s basketball team to go out and win at the Olympics. Four years prior, the U.S. had been defeated in the Semi-Finals by what should have been an inferior squad. It was a huge embarrassment for the entire nation, who had dominated basketball for so many years.
The 2008 roster contained players like Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Bryant, and more. It was an amazing team that was eventually dubbed “The Redeem Team.” Now, Netflix is making a documentary on the squad, and as it turns out, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade will help produce the new film.
Wade spoke about the project on the Netflix website, and as you will read, he is extremely excited for this opportunity.

“In 2008, I played with heroes of mine, all-stars, friends and future teammates. Outside of winning and showing the world that we were still the most dominant, our other big challenge was changing the perception of what everyone thought about the NBA and USA Basketball! I’m excited for everyone to get an opportunity to go behind the scenes and see all the work that went into this iconic team — the Redeem Team!”

Ahead of his first U.S. tour in eight years, B.o.B has dropped off a new album that he thinks is Better Than Drugs. The 33-year-old has taken something of a “hiatus” from the mainstream music industry, but now, he’s eager to get back to business as usual.
The 12-track arrival, which hit streamers on August 19th, features the “Nothin On You” artist’s production company, Hang Dynasty, tapping names like Slaughter Gang, Kid Hazel, and Cash Clay to assist him.
As for features, B.o.B racked up a solid list of recruits including Tech N9ne, Baby Tate, Money Mu, and Jace of Two-9. On top of that, he also nabbed TTO-KT’s help on two titles – “Tulum” and “Money Slidin.”
The lyricist’s Better Than Drugs tour will kick off in Athens, Georgia on August 27th, and close out in the same state (though this time in the city of Atlanta) on October 13th.

Following the chaotic coverage of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s defamation trial, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are getting the celebrity divorce headline treatment as an FBI report filed by the latter has revealed more details about their infamous alleged 2016 fight.
As Page Six reports, the “Salt” actress has maintained that she and her children were resting on an aircraft while flying from Nice, France to Los Angeles. The kids are said to have told their mom to “look” at 58-year-old Pitt, who was pouring “a glass of red wine,” though he made quite a mess, getting it “all over the chair” and not cleaning up “for the rest of the flight.”
According to Jolie, she “later” learned that her then-husband’s antics “caused approximately $25K in damages.” After the incident with the wine, things seemingly only got worse.
The mother of six has alleged that Pitt poured beer on her “and the blanket she was sleeping under,” punched the ceiling of the plane multiple times, “pushed” her, and even ran “toward [one of their kids] like he was going to attack.”
On top of this, it’s been noted that the 47-year-old accused her ex of verbal abuse, and stated that he compared one of their shared children to “a Columbine kid” who might “kill someone.”
Days after the chaotic flight, Jolie filed for divorce. In the unsealed reports, she alleged that she injured her elbow and back while trying to stop him, sharing photos of her purported injuries which have also been making rounds online.
Though Pitt has yet to comment on the allegations, he did speak with GQ about his decision to get sober back in 2017. “I was boozing too much. It’s just become a problem,” he admitted. “I’m really happy it’s been half a year now, which is bittersweet, but I’ve got my feelings in my fingertips again.”

There have been a lot of random anniversaries of classic records this year, but yesterday marked the 20th birthday of the app Shazam. If you don’t know — which, how? — Shazam is an app that always comes in clutch by telling you the title and artist of a song after it hears a brief clip.
To celebrate, they’ve put together a playlist made up of the most Shazamed song of each year for the past two decades. It’s on Apple Music and will definitely cause strong feelings of nostalgia, reminding you of when Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep” was virtually inescapable, or Evanescence’s “Bring Me To Life” had everyone turning emo, or Gotye‘s “Somebody That I Used To Know” was everywhere.
Adele has been able to keep up the momentum since that hit, but she recently had to postpone her Las Vegas residency. “There was just no soul in it,” she explained. “The stage setup wasn’t right. It was very disconnected from me and my band, and it lacked intimacy. And maybe I tried too hard to give it those things in such a controlled environment.” She added, “The first couple of months was really, really hard. I was embarrassed.”

Madden 23 is officially released on Friday and it is expected to be a major moment in the franchise. Not only is this game an homage to the late, great John Madden, but it’s introducing a key new gameplay feature that is supposed to make Madden more fun to play than ever before. FieldSENSE is the big new addition in this year’s Madden, and it’s meant to give gamers more control than ever before.
To showcase this new feature, Madden 23 launched with a trailer featuring a star-studded cast of faces to represent the new game. The trailer featured Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson and Cowboys linebacker Michah Parsons, but it also had some celebrity faces like Cordae and Hit-Boy talking up the game’s new features alongside Twitch star Nickmercs and Amazon Prime Thursday Night Football reporter Taylor Rooks.

We’re currently in the process of playing as much of the game ourselves to give a full review of the Madden 23 experience, and while our full thoughts will be withheld until then, we can say that the FieldSENSE feature is meeting the hype early on. It’s the most control Madden has ever given the player and it’s a big step in the right direction for the franchise.
