LeBron James Dodges Questions About Next Season

LeBron James had a very simple answer when asked if he had thought about what he was going to do with his player option year for next season – “No.” The veteran star gave the blunt answer following a Lakers shootaround ahead of their marquee clash against the Knicks. LeBron has a $51.4 million player option for the 2024/25 with a late-July opt-in deadline. Since that deadline comes a few days after the NBA Draft, many pundits believe LeBron will wait to see if and where his son Bronny is drafted.

However, the news comes a day after LeBron’s agent shut down speculation that LeBron could be dealt at the trade deadline. “LeBron won’t be traded, and we aren’t asking to be,” Paul said in response to growing speculation that LeBron might be leaving the Lakers midseason. Of course, LeBron hasn’t helped quiet the rumors. Following a loss to the Lakers earlier this week, LeBron posted an hourglass emoji to social media.

Stephen A. Smith Wants The Knicks To Trade For LeBron James

However, Paul’s comments about his biggest client haven’t stopped people from making their trade pitches regardless. Stephen A. Smith has caused a stir after using a segment on First Take to pitch a deadline trade between his Knicks and the Lakers to acquire LeBron James. Smith’s pitch is more based on the vibes of “LeBron at MSG” rather than how LeBron would actually make the Knicks a better team. Smith’s Knicks are currently in the East and are riding a six-game winstreak. However, they recently lost the team’s second scorer, Julius Randle, until at least after the All-Star Game.

Ahead of tonight’s game against the Knicks, LeBron was asked whether he had ever considered what it would be like to have MSG as a home court. “During my free agency period in 2010, it was one of the teams that I looked at. So I’ve had that thought in my career. However, he also made it clear that his focus is the Lakers for the time being. “I’m very proud of our efforts in Boston. Those guys stepped up and played exceptional basketball. Beautiful to see. Beautiful to watch. If we can play some good basketball, string a couple wins together, and not be so Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde on any given night, then we’ll be OK,” LeBron said.

50 Cent’s legal battle with a former consultant over alleged embezzlement in his Sire Spirits liquor company rages on. For those unaware, he sued Michael Caruso and Julious Grant last year for alleged fraud conspiracy, and according to a new Radar Online report, Caruso filed a counterclaim seeking $3 million in damages. Moreover, the Queens rapper wants the judge to dismiss this and he accused Caruso of embezzling him out of millions of dollars. In the brief issued to the Manhattan Supreme Court, the G-Unit mogul’s lawyer Reena Jain argues that the consultant and his co-conspirators’ crimes invalidate their retaliation.

“Ironically, the Caruso Plaintiffs have asserted claims against the Sire Defendants seeking damages of at least $3 million despite their central role in a fraudulent scheme,” 50 Cent’s attorney reportedly expressed in writing. “Crimes were committed in connection with millions of dollars in ‘agency fees’ embezzled from the Sire Entities. The Caruso Plaintiffs netted at least $1 million from the embezzlement scheme.” Allegedly, Caruso and Mitchell Green, Sire’s former director of brand management, conspired to inflate product prices and keep the leftover cash.

Not only that, but another federal lawsuit ordered Green to pay $6.2 million in damages and legal fees for his liability, according to The New York Post. Following this, 50 Cent’s Sire Spirits sued Caruso and Gina, his wife, Julious Grant, the owners of Jim Beam (who Grant worked for), and others for unspecified damages. Caruso’s counterclaim is based on his belief that Fif owes him around $3 million for his work and his entitlement to a 10 percent cut of their profits. Apparently, they agreed to this verbally.

“Even more outrageously, four of the five claims are solely based on an alleged oral promise sometime in 2016 by each and every one of the Sire Defendants to give Michael Caruso a ten percent (10%) membership interest in Sire Champagnes in exchange for certain business services,” court documents from 50’s camp read. “However, no such promise was made by any of the Sire Defendants. “[Caruso worked] tirelessly to help build Sire Spirits brand, including its world-class champagne,” a representative of the consultant told The New York Post. “This lawsuit is a blatant attempt to devalue his contribution to Mr. Jackson’s company, and he adamantly denies any wrongdoing.” Meanwhile, for more news and updates on 50 Cent, check back in with HNHH.

Meanwhile, Knicks fans are crediting a recent massive performance by team star Jalen Brunson to Leray. With Leray pretty in pink courtside, Jalen Brunson balled out against the Wizards on January 18. At the time of writing, the Knicks are 32-17 on the season and currently occupy third place in the Eastern Conference standings.

In the video below, you can see exchanges between both teams and his inner circle that detail some of the motions, responses, motivations, and refutations. Overall, it looks like we might have another tattletale case on our hands in the hip-hop world.

However, given the back-and-forth between these camps and WSHH‘s prompt removal, this might just be a quick damages settlement. While we can’t say for sure, we’d predict that there’s enough pull to steer this in a favorable outcome for Wack 100. But he’s got so much going on right now that maybe this isn’t the headache we see it as; just another bag chase. For example, he’s made a lot of claims about another video, but this one is an alleged one of Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez that he warned her about potentially ruining her.
