Dr. Dre revealed that he suffered three strokes in 2021, following his brain aneurysm, during a recent interview appearance on James Corden’s SiriusXM show, This Life Of Mine.

“It definitely makes you appreciate being alive, that’s for sure,” Dr. Dre said, according to Rolling Stone. “It’s something you can’t control, it just happens. During those two weeks, I had three strokes.”

“I got up and went about my day, and I thought I could lay down and take a nap,” he added. “My son and a female friend were like ‘No, we need to take you to the hospital. Next thing you know, I’m blacking out, I’m in and out of consciousness and I end up in the ICU. I was there for two weeks. I’m hearing doctors come in, ‘You don’t know how lucky you are.’ I asked questions about what I could’ve done to prevent this. No one could give me an answer.”

The rapper and mogul has been vocal about his near-death experience since it happened. In 2022, he spoke about how he was admitted to Cedars Sinai Hospital and his family couldn’t visit him because of COVID precautions. The hospital also called them instead, in case he didn’t make it and they wanted to say goodbyes.

Thankfully, Dr. Dre is still here and seems to be in a better and healthier place now.

Fredro Starr Recalls Suge Knight’s Death Row Offer, 2Pac’s Cryptic Warning

It’s no secret that 2Pac was once the face of Death Row Records, but according to Fredro Starr, the late icon did everything in his power to keep him from the same fate. During a recent interview with The Art of Dialogue, Fredro recalled spending time with 2Pac and Suge Knight at the premiere of his 1996 film, Sunset Park. After they all watched the movie, Suge asked Fredro to chat privately, and later ended up making him a serious offer.

“So me, 2Pac and Suge Knight, we take a walk, just us three,” Fredro explained. “Then Suge was like, ‘I want to sign you to Death Row.’ And I’m like, ‘Huh? What are you talking about?’ Suge Knight had a reputation for being…when I talked about energy, ‘Pac is the sun, Suge Knight is the moon. He got the dark energy. So when he was like, ‘I want to sign you to Death Row,’ I got kind of shook.”

Fredro Starr Recalls 2Pac’s Warning

“I was like, ‘But I’m already signed to Def Jam.’ I was trying to figure my way out the sh*t. ‘Nah, don’t worry about that. I’ll figure that sh*t out. I know [Jam Master] Jay. I know Russell [Simmons]. I’ll take care of that. Ain’t nothing to worry about,’” he continued. It was then that he shared a look with 2Pac, and the hitmaker’s face said it all.

“[T]he n***a 2Pac was looking at me, he was giving me that side-eye. He wasn’t encouraging the sh*t. He wasn’t like, ‘Yeah, n***a! Sign with Death Row, n***a! We got it popping!’ I didn’t hear none of that from that n***a. That n***a was quiet,” he said. “[He was giving me a look like], ‘You don’t want to do this, my brother. Stay where you at, my n***a.’” What do you think of Fredro Starr claiming 2Pac warned him not to sign to Death Row with a simple facial expression? Are you surprised? Diddy’s “Crumbling” Charter School Reportedly Plagued By Violence And Dysfunction

Parents and students of Diddy’s East Harlem charter school were sold a dream of high-end facilities and a top-tier education. Unfortunately, however, it appears as though they’ve experienced nothing of the sort. A new report by The Cut details the obstacles Capital Prep is currently up against, and features real accounts from 14 parents, students, and former employees.

Aside from boasting “a rigorous college preparatory curriculum,” Capital Prep prides itself in producing “engaged citizens for social justice.” It serves roughly 500 students, grades 6-12, who are mostly Black and low-income. What parents thought would be an excellent opportunity for their children has turned into nothing short of a nightmare, as the school is reportedly plagued by violence and overall dysfunction.

“He was supposed to be an inspiration to those children, coming from what you might consider the hood—and he was not,” one disappointed parent says of Diddy. “I thought if Diddy is funding and attaching his name to something, it would be run very tightly, that he was going to give our kids what he didn’t have at that age,” another explains. Parents and students describe understaffing and high teacher turnover, which they claim often took a toll on learning time. They also say that frequent fights, lockdowns, and more are the norm at Capital Prep. Teachers even called the police on students for small behavioral issues like dress code violations.

Reportedly, things grew even worse when the pandemic hit, and students were sent home to attend classes online. “We came home in March and then everything crumbled and it just kept crumbling,” one parent recalls. What do you think of reports that the students of Diddy’s Capital Prep are facing various serious issues? Are you surprised? Cardi B Is Surprising Fans With The Reason Why The ‘Munch’ Remix Collab With Ice Spice Never Got Released

Cardi B recently chatted with Speedy Morman for his 360 With Speedy show, where she revealed why her previously teased collaboration with Ice Spice for the “Munch” remix never hit streaming platforms officially. Fans might be shocked, but as it turns out, Cardi loved the song — her main issue was simply not being pleased about her verse reacing a level of perfection.

“I love the record, I did not like how I sound,” she shared. “You know it being on a drill beat, it’s not as easy as it [looks]… I was like, ‘They’re gonna drag me and they’re going to drag the song bad.’”

Speedy Morman then pointed out that Cardi B had dabbled in drill music before, according to Complex.

“Yeah, but that was a little bit more my speed because it was a little bit more aggressive,” Cardi added. “I’m really good at being more aggressive than being, like, more sexy. I feel like I’m better off being aggressive than being sexy. So I just felt like it was not giving, I was like, ‘I don’t even want to do this to this girl.’ The record is already great, I don’t want to f*ck it up. I just hated my verse… I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is embarrassing. I can’t catch the beat for sh*t.’ Doing drill music is not as easy as people think it is.”

Hopefully fans will get a chance to finally hear it eventually. Until then, check out Cardi B’s full interview, including discussing her Ice Spice collaboration, above.

Cardi B is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
