Boosie Speaks On Gucci Mane Dissing Jeezy’s Dead Friend In Verzuz Battle

DJ Vlad’s latest interview with Boosie Badazz has unearthed no shortage of gems, as the vocal Baton Rouge rapper has reacted to damn near every topic in recent memory. In today’s installment (part 37), Boosie touched on the widely publicized Verzuz battle between Jeezy and Gucci Mane, during which the late tempted fate with a performance of the incendiary “Truth.” All the while, onlookers watched amidst palpable tension, wondering if Jeezy would react to Guwop’s clear provocation.

“I watched the part with Pookie Loc, I watched that shit,” says Boosie. “He said ‘I’m smoking on that Pookie Loc tonight.'” After Vlad jokes about a meme insinuating that Gucci Mane was armed during the performance, Boosie has a hearty laugh before circling back to the topic at hand. “I like how they bossed up, but I would have charged that n***a,” admits Boosie. “If he had said he was smoking on my partner, I’d have felt that was a type of disrespect…I thought we were walking about music. You can say that in a song if that’s part of a song, but you ain’t gon’ say…”

“They was supposed to have that understanding before they got there,” he continues. “But I like how they handled it as bosses. I got a lot of respect for them for not taking it there and really bossing up and letting it be.” Vlad remarks that while Jeezy appears to have moved past the incident, Gucci has yet to fully shake the grudge. “Jeezy done showed the world he a real n***a,” reflects Boosie. “He not trying to prove he a real n***a again by going back. That’s what Jeezy stood for.”

Ice Cube Adds 2 Sections To The CWBA

Ice Cube certainly deserves praise for his many contributions to hip-hop, from his legendary discography to his role in shaping gangsta rap as we know it. But that’s not everything Cube has brought to the table. Lately, the rapper has been focused on seeing his Contract With Black America come to fruition, having already garnered serious interest from both former President Donald Trump and current President Joe Biden.

With a meeting with the President’s team still in the works, Ice Cube has taken to Instagram to share an update about the CWBA. “We added 2 new sections to the Contract With Black America,” he announces, encouraging his followers to have a look. “Check it out at cwba.us.” The two additional sections include the “Sports Industry Economic Development Plan – CWBA Sports Initiative,” as well as “Additional Concerns Regarding Black Women.”

The former is described as follows by the website’s official write-up: “This CWBA Sports Initiative is offered to address the systemic racism prevalent in much of the sports industry, particularly as it relates to economics, leadership, participation, and wages.” Full details about what the section aims to include can be seen on the website.

As for the Additional Concerns Regarding Black Women section, the official description focuses on protection and recognition for a crucial demographic. “Today, Black American women live in the ‘afterlife’ of chattel slavery, and thus, continue to face unique challenges derived from the enslavement and subjugation of their ancestors,” reads the official CWBA website. Further explanation about this new section can be explored in full right here.

Be sure to show Ice Cube some appreciation for keeping the Contract With Black America moving, and one has to wonder if we will see its implementation at any point in the years to come. Stay tuned for further developments on this story.

CyHi The Prynce Is Sitting On “One Of The Greatest Rap Albums Ever Recorded”

CyHi The Prynce has been having a tough year, having recently been on the receiving end of an alarming drive-by shooting. Luckily, he was largely unharmed, though clearly shaken by the incident. Now, CyHi has returned to Instagram with a more uplifting post, albeit one that doesn’t quite answer the questions his fans have been wondering of late. Mainly, what’s to come of his follow-up to 2017’s No Dope On Sundays.

“Since my journey started in music, I have always been considered one of the best rappers in the world but a lot of times where I’m from (Atlanta, GA) or who I have been signed to in the past hinders me from getting the opportunity I deserve!!!” begins CyHi, in a lengthy update on his current musical situation. “I don’t complain or throw my partners under the bus, I just try to work through it but now that I’m a “FREE AGENT” I feel like I’m at this crossroads: “do I still even want to do this?” due to the lack of support I get from the people around me.”

“Since my recent incident, I have had time to reflect,” he admits. “I contemplated retiring from rap and just being a songwriter, but the overwhelming support from the fans makes me feel that people still would like to hear my music so I’m writing this letter to the Music Industry: if you’re interested in one of the best hip-hop/rap musicians in the world, please feel free to reach out via DM – thanks and luv. FYI: I have 3 albums ready to go with features from Travis Scott, Kanye West, Big Sean, 2 Chainz, Lizzo, Pink Sweats, Mozzy, Jack Harlow, Ty Dolla, Cordae and more.”

He also provides a simpler variation of his message, chalking it up with a succinct and effective sales pitch. “I am sitting on one of the greatest albums ever recorded in rap/music history and I’m looking for a label to partner with to help me put it out the proper way!” he writes. From the sound of some of the features he’s got lined up, including several of his former G.O.O.D Music partners, prospective labels would be wise to, at the very least, consider CyHi’s offer. Especially if his project has the added benefit of being “one of the greatest albums ever recorded in rap/music history.”

KXNG Crooked Explains Why He Never Dissed Dr. Dre & Eminem In Death Row Era

Though he has since enjoyed a long and storied career in the rap game, many fans tend to forget that KXNG Crooked originally began his career as a Death Row signee; we actually spoke about his time working on Suge Knight’s label right here, an era that Crook clearly looks back on with fondness. Yet despite his appreciation for the legendary label, KXNG Crooked wasn’t always on board with their vision for his career trajectory. In fact, he recently spoke to Math Hoffa about an unfortunate request he received while repping Tha Row.

“I was on the radio, live with Ja Rule, Irv Gotti, and Ja played that joint “Loose Change” that he had dissing Eminem,” reflects Crook, around the fifty-two minute mark. “He said uh some real crazy stuff about Em’s daughter and all that. He premiered it on the radio, and you know, it was lit, he was at it. And the host was like, ‘Yeah, so Crooked, you’re up next. You’re about to send some shots to Dre and Em, you got something for them?’ And I was like, ‘Nah, that’s not my beef. I just got over here, you know. I’m trying to make great music. I’m trying to bring that back to the W. That’s my focus. Yo, Dre is the greatest producer ever. Sounds like Em got bars and all that’.”

As fate would have it, Crook’s decision to remain neutral would ultimately place him in high regard in the Shady/Aftermath camp. “I went to Fat Beats, got The Chronic 2001 instrumental vinyl, and my phone rang,” continues Crook. “That was Dre. I was off Death Row at the time, and he was like, ‘Yo, I heard you that night when you was on the radio. Me and Em was listening. And he was like, ‘Yo, you never took a shot. Every time they try to get you to shoot at me, you never did’. And he said, ‘I respect the fuck out of that. So, you know, you want to get down, holla at me.”

“I truly believe that that night is one of the reasons why I was able to have a Death Row past and still be able to go over there to Shady and have a future, and it’s all good,” explains Crook. “It would have been easy for me to say, ‘Hell yeah, f*ck them ni**as, let’s go’. That was easy. But I was like, ‘Nah, I’m not gonna do that’. And that’s just what was on my heart.”

Now, KXNG Crooked is currently sitting on an unreleased duet with Dr. Dre, a banger that many are speculating will be included on the Good Doctor’s forthcoming album. Check out KXNG Crooked’s conversation with Math Hoffa on My Expert Opinion below.
