The Brooklyn Nets Sign Alize Johnson To Multi-Year Deal: Report

The Brooklyn Nets are looking to get a championship this year. The team added Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant last year, although the latter sat out all season. This season, the Nets also grabbed James Harden, Blake Griffin, and LaMarcus Aldridge. The super team is nothing like anything we’ve seen in the NBA. The entire start five could potentially be made of All-Stars, which causes some issues for the competition in the East.

Brooklyn needed depth after several injuries. They signed forward Alize Johnson to a ten-day contract. Then, they added ten more days. His spark of play has now earned him a multi-year deal. Johnson recently agreed to a multiyear deal with the Nets which is worth up to $4.1 million, his agent George Langberg told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Johnson has averaged 7.8 points and 5.8 rebounds on 65.7 percent shooting in six appearances for the Nets. Prior to landing on the Nets, Johnson played with the Indiana Pacers over two seasons. Johnson earned roughly $100,000 on each of his 10-day deals, based on the NBA minimum salary for a player with his experience and the length of the 2020-21 season. The Nets just lost to the depleted Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday. The two teams are expected to meet in the Finals.

Hulk Hogan Receives Chorus Of Boos At WrestleMania 37

While Hulk Hogan was one of the most popular wrestlers in the world during his prime, the man has taken a few hits over the years which has ultimately made him public enemy number one. From racist outbursts to sex tapes, Hogan has not been on his best behavior and for many WWE fans, he is no longer the good guy he once was. With that in mind, it should not be surprising that he would be boo’d into oblivion during a WWE appearance.

Well, that is exactly what happened last night as Hogan was placed alongside Titus O’Neil as the hosts of WrestleMania 37. While O’Neil was welcomed with open arms, Hogan did not receive the same treatment.

In the Twitter clip which can be seen below, the fans immediately shower Hogan with boos as soon as he opens his mouth. Despite this, Hogan remains professional and allows the fans to keep going, all while he finishes his intro and goes on with the festivities. It is yet another example of how fans feel about Hogan these days, and it’s truly odd that the WWE chose him to host.

Tonight, WrestleMania will continue, and it is sure to provide some entertaining matches.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Shows Support For Billie Kay Ahead Of WrestleMania 37

Billie Kay and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson have been friends for some time now. Their friendship continues to grow as Kay reps The Rock for Wrestlemania 37. Kay hopped on Twitter to share a custom pair of socks she had made for the event. The socks feature an image of The Rock, drawn in cartoon form, with one eyebrow raised behind a pair of shades.

Of course, The Rock himself had to respond to the tweet. “Time to shine, BK,” he responded. “Electrify ‘em…⚡️💪🏾 #WrestleMania.” Kay competed in the Tag Team Turmoil match Saturday night. That fight determined the new number one contenders that will challenge WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler. Kay will team with Carmella, going up against Lana and Naomi, Natalya and Tamina Snuka, Liv Morgan, and Ruby Riott, and Dana Brooke and Mandy Rose.

The night also featured Bad Bunny and Damian Priest vs. The Miz and John Morrison. Bad Bunny’s debut in the wrestling scene got the internet going. Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler will be facing Natalya and Tamina tonight. It looks like those The Rock socks didn’t help Kay’s case when it came to winning the championship.

Phillip Adams’ Sixth Victim Dies In Hospital Following Shooting

Former NFL player Phillip Adams killed himself on Thursday after committing mass murder in South Carolina on Wednesday Night. Adams killed Dr. Robert Lesslie and the man’s wife, as well as his two grandchildren who were ages five and nine. There were two workers on-site at the time and one of them was killed on the scene while another, 38-year-old Robert Shook, was brought to the hospital where he was fighting for his life.

According to Yahoo Sports!, Shook passed away from his injuries, which now means Adams killed six people during the incident. It’s a truly senseless tragedy that has affected so many lives, and it is truly unfortunate that so many innocent people were taken from us.

In the aftermath of Adams’ actions, his family has allowed officials to test him for CTE which is a brain disease that has been closely associated with football. The long-lasting effects of hits to the head have been studied for quite some time and if Adams did have CTE, then it could very well explain what led him to commit such atrocities.

Test results could take months although in the interim, we send our condolences to all of those who have lost loved ones in this tragedy.

‘SNL’ Paid Their Respects To DMX Through Jokes And A Tribute To Close The Show

Early Friday morning, DMX’s family put out a statement confirming what the entertainment world would hope to be false. The legendary rapper sadly passed away at 50 following a reported drug overdose and heart attack. Tributes from all over, including the music and sports world, came pouring in and as the days go on, many are still finding their own ways to honor him with the latest being Saturday Night Live.

The first mention of DMX came during the late-night show’s cold open segment. The sketch was led by Kenan Thompson, Ego Nwodim, Kate McKinnon, and Alex Moffat who altogether played four Minnesota anchors that were initially discussing the murder of George Floyd but switch the topic after a disagreement.

“We lost royalty yesterday,” McKinnon said, in reference to Prince Phillip’s death on Friday. “Yes, the rapper DMX died,” Nwodim replied which was met by an applause from he audience. McKinnon tried to correct Nwodim saying, “I was talking about the prince,” but her attempt failed as Nwodim retorted, “Girl, Prince been dead!”

DMX’s came on a pair of occasions later in the show. The first came with a photo SNL put onscreen of the rapper and his stage name following a commercial break, the image from when he himself performed on the show back in 2000 where he performed “What’s My Name” from his 1999 album, … And Then There Was X.. Lastly, after host Carey Mulligan delivered her thank yous to the audience and viewers, Chris Redd held up a handwritten sign that read “R.I.P. DMX” in black lettering.

You can watch the cold open segment as well as view a screenshot of show’s closing moments above.

JOEY TRAP Keeps The Momentum High With “Professional”

We’re only four months into 2021 and Joey Trap has made it absolutely clear that he plans on having the game in a headlock. Following his prolific run in 2020 that included numerous singles and five projects, he kept the momentum high by the time 2021 came around. He’s already one project deep and it seems like that’s just the tip of the iceberg in terms of what the rapper has in store for the remainder of the year.

This week, the rapper dropped off another new banger titled, “Professional.” The production sounds like something JetsonMade would’ve produced while Trap leans more towards the melodies this time around.

The new single from Joey Trap arrives less than a month after the release of his latest project, LOYALTY.
