ChillPill, Cousin Stizz, YBN Nahmir & Teejayx6 Shine On “Moonwalk”

Producer ChillPill has been developing an impressive portfolio as of late and if you’ve been listening to his music, then you would know that he can come through with a plethora of different styles. On his latest song “Moonwalk,” ChillPill demonstrates his artistry by delivering a song that features three very different artists in Cousin Stizz, YBN Nahmir, and Teejayx6.

The production is hard-hitting as one would expect, all while all three artists give us their best versions of themselves. While speaking about the song, ChillPill said he wanted to give off a cipher-type vibe and that is exactly what he accomplishes here. The lyrics from all of these artists are playful and overall, it’s a dope effort that you should definitely check out.

You can stream the song, below.

Watch out, Watch out, when you see it

And my dogs and we all like demons

Tae Bae Is Ready To Light The Summer Up With “K.A.T”

Ever since dropping his “First Day Out” freestyle in 2019, Tae Bae has been on his way up. Previously known as Tae Bae Bae, the rapper has garnered a serious buzz in the streets, even if he hasn’t been releasing music on a consistent basis. The rapper’s worked alongside with Wale in the past, along with artists like Gorilla Zoe and Young Chris over the course of his career but it seems like the summer of 2021 to declare as his own.

The rapper emerged this week with his new single, “K.A.T.” The song’s production is similar to Problem’s “Don’t Be Mad At Me” which lit up last summer. Tae Bae oozes charisma and confidence in this fun record as he discusses the array of women in his life.

Young Thug Shares What It Was Like Creating ‘Slime Language 2’ With Some Of Music’s Biggest Names

Two years after its predecessor, Young Thug and his YSL Records collective returned with Slime Language 2. The highly-anticipated album dropped Friday, backed by 23 songs and guest appearances from Drake, Travis Scott, Big Sean, Meek Mill, and others. But it was supposed to come out much earlier. Back in August, Thug tweeted that the project would drop that month. He quickly retracted the news after he said his account was “hacked.” Now that the project is finally here, the rapper stopped by Zane Lowe’s Apple Music radio show to talk about making the compilation album with some of the industry’s biggest names.

“It seemed like a show,” he said. “It seemed like a Lollapalooza, Coachella. It just seemed like a show. Every moment was performing. Those was more a performance. You got to show up. You know what I’m saying?” He added, “Everybody’s watching there. Everybody here. Everybody in your shit. Everybody in your face, you got to show up. It just felt like that. Every moment.”

You can listen to the full episode, which also features an appearance from Gunna, here.

Slime Language 2 is out now via YSL Records/300 Entertainment. Get it here.

Quavo Hits YK Osiris With The Ankle-Breaker During Basketball Game

YK Osiris tried to show off his basketball skills last weekend although his attempt largely backfired on him as he could be seen getting blocked by a guy who wasn’t that much bigger than him. While his shot was fairly decent, it also seemed like Osiris simply didn’t have the dexterity necessary in order to play defense while out on the court. Unfortunately for him, those suspicions were confirmed recently as he took to the floor against Quavo.

This basketball matchup was formed as both men were in Atlanta for Legends Day. As you can see in the Twitter clip below, Quavo had the ball and was coming down the court all while Osiris was following him. That’s when Quavo made a quick move that ultimately put Osiris on skates. Osiris eventually fell out of frame, and Quavo went on his way.

Quavo has proven himself as someone who is not to be messed with when he is out on the basketball court. He’s a multi-sport athlete and over the years, he has made some pretty impressive moves that are undeniable if you are into basketball. If anything, Osiris could learn a thing or two from the Migos artist.

In the future, it will be interesting to see just how much Osiris is able to improve.

Jimmy Butler Calls Heat “Soft” Following Yet Another Loss

Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat were expected to thrive this season especially after going all the way to the NBA Finals last season. Unfortunately for Butler and company, things haven’t gone according to plan as the Heat are seventh in the Eastern Conference and have lost 10 out of their last 16 games. In fact, after last night’s loss to the T-Wolves, Butler called out his teammates for being too soft.

“We’re just being soft. That’s it,” Butler. “Not getting into bodies, scared of some contact. Soft overall.” Butler made sure to note that he actually believes this is a good thing as it will force the Heat to look within and improve.

“It’s not frustrating because we do it so often,” Butler said. “It’s almost like it’s expected, in a bad way to put it. We just think we’re such a good team, and then reality hits us, we’re humbled. And I’m glad because that’s what this game does for you. Home, away, no matter what opponent you’re playing against, you just stroll into the game thinking you’re nice, you’re good, this is what happens.

With the regular season coming to a close within the next month, the Heat don’t have much time to get it together before the playoffs. Despite this, the team is full of players with deep-run experience which will certainly come in handy once the playoffs start.

Young Thug’s YSL Dominates This Week’s Fire Emoji Playlist

Ever since last summer, fans have been anticipating the release of Young Thug and Young Stoner Life’s Slime Language 2. The YSL camp land three songs this week on the playlist. Stacked with tons of guest features, the YSL camp really outdid itself on the latest compilation project. Young Thug brings on his young signee Yung Kayo to connect with Lil Uzi Vert on “Proud Of You.” We also got the Travis Scott-assisted “Diamonds Diamond” with both Thug and Gunna, though Twitter spent a good portion of Friday debating whether it was better than Future and Drake’s collaboration of the same name. Finally, the TikTok-friendly anthem, “Ski” with Thug and Gunna also made its way onto the playlist.

Polo G has been having a hell of a run in the past year which seems to be setting him up for an even bigger year ahead. “RAPSTAR” is expected to be his first #1 single. If that’s the case, unroll the red carpet for a new titan in the rap game.

DMX Will Be Honored With A Memorial At Brooklyn’s Barclays Center

It been a little over a week rapper DMX’s tragic death, but he will not be forgotten. His manager, Steve Rifkind, has announced plans to honor him, telling TMZ that a public memorial for DMX will be held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on April 24. However, it won’t be open to the public. The family has chosen to limit it to just close friends and family. The arena, which normally seats 19,000 people, will only allow 10% of its capacity. Despite this, TMZ reports that the memorial will be livestreamed for people to watch.

The announcement comes a week after Yonkers mayor Mike Spano offered his city’s massive raceway as a potential location for the public memorial. The outdoor venue, which resides in DMX’s hometown, carries 7,500 seats, nearly half the capacity of Barclays Center. But the late rapper’s family chose the bigger location for the service. Spano also promised to honor DMX in the city with a “lasting gesture” that may take the form of a street name, a statue, or a mural.

The news comes after a posthumous verse from the late rapper — on “Been To War,” his collaboration with Swizz Beatz and French Montana — was dropped. DMX’s music streams have also increased by nearly 1,000% since his death.

Swae Lee Opens Up About His Stepfather’s Death In The Snapchat Series ‘Swae Meets World’

At the beginning of 2020, brothers Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi, who comprise the rap duo Rae Sremmurd, were hit with tragic news: Their stepfather, Floyd Sullivan Jr., was shot and killed by their half-brother Michael Sullivan. He would eventually be arrested and charged with felony first-degree murder, facing life in prison if convicted. More than a year later, Swae Lee is using his Snapchat series, Swae Meets World, to open up about the incident with fans.

Swae spoke a bit about his stepfather’s passing in the first episode of the Snapchat series entitled “Swae Lee’s having the wildest year of his life, no cap.” “Allegedly the police say my brother shot my dad,” he said. “It’s unbelievable. You can’t even imagine. It’s like something out of a movie. I’m still dealing with it. I don’t even know how to deal with it all the way completely. It’s traumatic but it like puts fury inside of you. It puts fire inside of you. You can’t bring nobody back.”

At the time of his stepfather’s passing, Swae mourned the loss on Twitter. “I pray this world let’s me keep some compassion,” he wrote. “I’ve been tested my whole life.”

You can watch the trailer for the forthcoming series above and head to Snapchat’s discover page to watch the new episode.
