It’s always welcome to hear the OGs reflect on their fellow hip-hop vets, and Onyx’s own Fredro Starr recently hit up the Shirley’s Temple for an extensive conversation. While a variety of topics were discussed, with many notable anecdotes unearthed for the rap historians, one of the most interesting moments arose in the opening minute as host Shirley Ju inquired about Starr’s Top 5 rappers.

“Just to be politically correct,” he prefaces. “There’s thirty years of hip-hop right? So you gotta have somebody from the old school. So we’re going to keep Rakim. Then you gotta put some nineties guys, so we gotta put B.I.G, you gotta put Nas. And then you gotta put a west coast guy. I think there should be a west coast guy in the top five. I’ll put Ice Cube in that. I think he’s the guy — Snoop is heavy, but Ice Cube is the guy.”

“Then you gotta put somebody that’s rocking now,” he continues. “So, I would have to put Jay-Z. But kinda not really, cause like I said, I can’t put three guys in the nineties. Scratch Jay-Z, I would put that to Conway and Benny The Butcher together as the next top five.” When Ju asks his thoughts on Griselda’s ongoing run, Starr gives his stamp of approval.

“I heard them on Statik Selektah,” he recalls. “They were doing mixtapes, and I had my ear to the streets. I remember we was in Russia, it was cold as shit. We were at this dude’s crib, smoking shiska — that’s what they call weed out there. I was like, put on the Griselda shit on YouTube! They was loving that shit all the way in Russia!” He proceeds to compare the Buffalo crew to the Wu-Tang at the height of the golden era, naming Raekwon in particular.

Deshaun Watson is currently in the midst of battling some massive allegations as 22 women are currently suing him for sexual assault. These women claim that Watson booked them for massages and started to act inappropriately in the midst of their work. Originally, only one woman had come forward although this number grew larger by the day until 22 came forward. As of right now, his lawyer is claiming that many of these women have lied about their interactions, and now, Watson wants a jury to decide the case.

In the meantime, it appears as though Watson has been on vacation with his longtime girlfriend Jilly Anais. The two have been dating for a couple of years now and Anais has posted him on her IG before. Yesterday, however, she took to IG again, this time with a pic of her and Watson on a Jetski together, all while she holds up the middle finger.

If you slide all the way to the final picture in the slideshow below, you will see the loving snap which portrays both Anais and Watson as unbothered as to what is going on right now. Neither Watson nor Anais have made public statements about the allegations and considering the cases are still in the early stages, it will likely be a while before either of them do.

For now, however, Watson seems to have some supportive people on his side.

LeBron James will likely be showing off a brand new signature model this summer, although for now, he is currently promoting the Nike LeBron 18 and its “Low” counterpart. The LeBron 18 Low has been getting a substantial amount of love as of late especially since it is the newest LeBron model on the market. The colorways have been interesting thus far and fans are curious to see what else will be dropping. Just the other day, we reported on a colorway called “LeBronold Palmer” although there was no information for its release date. Today, that all changed as Nike revealed that it will drop in just a couple of weeks.

In the official images below, you can see that this offering has palm trees and geometric shapes all throughout the upper. The base color here is yellow although we can clearly see some neon green and orange peeking through. This creates a truly unique aesthetic that embraces the whole tropical vibe that is connoted from the colorway’s name.

A seven-year-old girl has lost her life after being fatally shot while sitting inside a car at a McDonald’s drive-thru in Chicago. The girl’s father was also wounded in the shooting, which reportedly happened on Sunday afternoon. 

The shooting took place at the McDonald’s located at 3200 West Roosevelt Road in Chicago. The two victims were a seven-year-old girl, identified as Jaslyn Adams, and her twenty-nine-year-old father. They were waiting in the drive-thru at 4:18 PM when multiple gunshots were fired from outside the vehicle. The seven-year-old girl sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Her father was shot in the chest. He is reportedly in serious condition.

Police have reported that no suspects have been arrested in connection to the shooting. Jaslyn’s aunt Tawny McMullen described her niece as a sweet, talkative girl who was “real loving.” “Please put the guns down, kids are afraid to go out the door because of this violence,” she added.

Over the weekend, there were multiple mass shootings reported across the country. Three people were reportedly killed in Austin at a shopping center, and three others were killed in Kenosha County.

Charlotte-based rapper DaBaby has pissed off a lot of people again— this time because of a video he posted where he shames a flight attendant for their hairstyle.

The video, which was allegedly posted by DaBaby on Instagram Stories, shows him and a group of people he was traveling with. The rapper shames a nearby flight attendant, calling her out for her messy hair. “We ain’t finna act like she ain’t just jump outta bed,” rudely wrote Baby as his caption. “We gone pay all that for the flight, you gone comb your hair,” he said out loud while she was walking by. “That’s the least you can do. Bottom line.”

The unnecessary harassment has caught DaBaby some flack online with many calling out the rapper and telling him that there was no productive use in shaming the flight attendant. “She’s there to do her job, not be your eye candy,” said one commenter. “This isn’t funny at all,” added another. “She is a working woman, you don’t know her and to comment on a woman’s appearance. You don’t know what she had going on this morning.”

The backlash seemingly didn’t bother DaBaby in the slightest. The rapper went on to perform for a packed concert venue in Orlando, Florida alongside Toosii, Stunna 4 Vegas, Rich Dunk, KayyKilo, Wisdom, and more. He was also recently presented with a whopping twenty-seven new plaques over the weekend, so this backlash likely isn’t bothering him too much.

When Kanye West unveiled the Yeezy Foam Runner just a couple of years ago, there weren’t very many people out there who thought it was a good idea. The shoe looks like a pair of crocs from outer space and depending on the shape of your foot, these could get pretty out of hand. According to Yeezy Mafia, this new colorway is called “Vermillion” although we’re sure some people out there are going to try and call these the “Red Octobers.” It’s the Foam Runner shape everyone already knows except this time around, it is completely dressed from head to toe in some red materials. It’s a flashy offering and it’s also one that fans have been waiting for.
