King Von Contemplates The Ups And Downs Of Success In His ‘Mine Too’ Video

The latest posthumous King Von video to be released from the OTF vaults (or hard drives, as it were) is “Mine Too,” from his album Welcome To O-Block. The video features Von performing to the camera in and around a cavernous mansion, showing off a collection of luxury cars, and shining from head to toe with an eye-popping array of diamond-encrusted accessories. As Von raps, he’s flanked by his stoic-faced crewmates and a pair of scantily clad women, who provide even more atmosphere to the moody aesthetic.

Although it’s been six months since King Von died after being shot in an Atlanta parking lot, the apparent backlog of videos he had previously recorded has been released at a relatively steady trickle by his label, including “Wayne’s Story,” released almost chillingly close to the actual event, “Armed & Dangerous,” and the posse cut “Jump,” while he received homages in OTF founder Lil Durk’s videos for “Backdoor” and “Still Trappin,” as well as Fivio Foreign’s “Trust” and PNB Rock’s “Rose Gold.”

In the wake of Von’s death, Welcome To O-Block, released just days before, debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard 200 chart — his highest to date — while two other projects also entered the chart for the first time.

Kanye West Still Wearing Wedding Band In DJ Khaled Photos Amid Divorce

Over the course of the past 24 hours, DJ Khaled has been dropping a barrage of bombshells. After surprising fans with the official release date of his long-awaited 12th studio album Khaled Khaled, the veteran record producer hit Instagram earlier today to also share behind-the-scenes footage and pictures of Kanye West listening to the forthcoming album during a recent visit to his at-home studio.

Even DJ Khaled couldn’t contain his excitement, and while posting content from the unexpected meet-up, he wrote, “KANYE STOPPED BY MY HOUSE AT 8 AM THE OTHER DAY! I DIDNT KNOW HE WAS COMING! HE HAD @chefmelissazuniga make him SOME EGGS WITH KETCHUP AND VEGAN BACON…And we listened to #KHALEDKHALED. You know when you get this expression that it’s sounding AMAZING!”

Needless to say, Kanye’s expression will most definitely get fans even more excited for Khaled Khaled, but apparently, there’s more to DJ Khaled’s rare pictures than fans originally thought. Eagle-eyed fans have noticed that Kanye is still wearing his wedding band, despite Kim Kardashian filing for divorce from the esteemed rapper two months ago.

After six years of marriage, one can’t fault Kanye West for still holding out hope that his and Kim’s relationship will work itself out, even as royals, athletes, and billionaires are reportedly shooting their shots at the popular Kardashian sister. According to PageSix, West has reportedly set his sights on dating an “artist and a creative person” so that they “can speak the same language to each other,” but these new pictures from DJ Khaled may suggest otherwise.

Stay tuned for more Kanye West-related news.

King Von’s “Took Her To The O” Goes Platinum

When King Von died on November 6th, 2020, he was only a little over a week removed from the release of his new album Welcome To O Block. Prior to the project, Von was easily touted as one of the game’s rising stars, with fans praising his raw energy and detail-rich approach to storytelling. Following his death, many were quick to revisit Welcome To O Block in order to mourn the late OTF rapper, a process that continues to this day.

Von’s movement has endured so thoroughly that he recently gained a pair of new RIAA certifications to add to his repertoire, with one gold and one platinum. The gold is for the Polo G-assisted “The Code,” the fifth track from Welcome To O Block. The platinum, which marks the second of Von’s career (at least, so far), is for “Took Her To The O,” a LeVon James single originally released in February of 2020. Sadly, Von was not around to see it hit the gold milestone, as it did so in December 2020, a few weeks removed from his death.

“Took Her To The O” is not the first platinum plaque that Von has received, with “Crazy Story” having previously hit the marker. Alas, Von was once again unable to see that win actualized, as the song was certified on December 3rd, 2020. Sadly, most of his gold certifications — of which he now has three — occurred posthumously, with “Crazy Story” being the lone exception.

Still, it’s reassuring to see that his many fans have been keeping his memory alive through his music, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see that support ultimately translate into further commercial success. Be sure to share your favorite King Von tracks in the comments below, and sound off if you’ve been keeping his music on steady rotation in the months following his death.

Kodak Black Pleads Guilty, Walks Away From Sexual Assault Case Without Jail Time

UPDATE:

Kodak Black’s legal team has issued a statement on the case:

Today Bill Kapri took a plea to the legal charge of assault, a non sex offense, and received 18 months probation. This was a change of charge from the original charge. Having consistently denied these 5 year old allegations, he entered this plea in order to resolve the matter.

Ever since Kodak Black became one of the Hip-Hop community’s most beloved younger acts, the Flordia artist‘s career has been plagued with legal issues, and his sexual assault case in South Carolina has been one of the toughest cases for Kodak to shake.According to AllHipHop, Kodak Black’s six-year court case originally stemmed from a 2016 incident in which a girl claimed Kodak raped her and committed sexual battery in a hotel room after his performance at the Treasure City Nightclub in Florence, South Carolina.

As previously reported, the repercussions for the charges raised against Kodak could have resulted in the rapper facing up to 30 years in prison. Today, AllHipHop reports that, surprisingly, Kodak Black will not be serving any jail time at all regarding his ongoing sexual assault case. After visiting Florence, South Carolina to appear in court, the Bill Israel artist has reportedly entered a guilty plea, and his decision to do so has led to him receiving a drastically reduced sentence.

According to AllHipHop, Kodak Black was hit with a 10-year sentence today, but thanks to his guilty plea agreement, his lengthy sentence was suspended for 18 months of probation and mandated counseling. Also of note, Kodak reportedly acknowledged his guilt and apologized to the victim during the court hearing.

Considering that the charges brought against Kodak could have led to the Florida artist serving 30 years behind bars, it’s safe to say that Kodak the Finesse Kid has practically walked away scot-free from his endless sexual assault. This marks his second life-changing win within the criminal justice sentence this year, following former President Donald Trump’s highly publicized last-minute pardon. As long as Kodak Black goes to his court-ordered counseling and follows the terms of his 18-month probation, the rapper will remain a free man.

JackBoy Drops Off New Banger “Protecting My Energy”

With Kodak Black out, the Sniper Gang movement is running smoothly. During his absence, Yak had JackBoy hold down the fort which he did successfully. During the NBA Youngboy beef, it was Jackboy who emerged with the meme-worthy toilet paper roll that ended up being sold as merch.

Besides his work behind the scenes, JackBoy successfully established himself independently of Kodak with the release of three projects including his self-titled album and Living In History. After a few singles to hear up 2021, the rapper emerged today with a more emotional record with “Protecting My Energy.” The rapper’s latest record finds him in a contemplative state as he reflects on trust and loyalty within his inner circle.

Check the latest from Jackboy below and sound off in the comments with your thoughts.
