J. Cole Reportedly Set To Suit Up For Rwandan Basketball Africa League Team

Over the last couple of years, the NBA and FIBA have been working on a brand new organization in Africa called the Basketball Africa League. The new venture consists of 12 teams who will battle it out over the course of a season to see which club is the best in the entire continent. This league is special as it forces each team to have at least eight local players on the roster, while only allowing up to four foreign players. These rules make it so that African players are given a spotlight which helps grow the game.

According to The New Times in Rwanda, the Patriots, a club from Kigali, Rwanda, is making use of their four foreign roster slots as they have plans to feature J. Cole in one of their games. Based on their report below, J. Cole is in Rwanda right now and has been added to the team’s roster.

J. Cole has a new album called The Off-Season coming out next Friday, which makes the timing of this report quite curious. However, J. Cole has always expressed interest in playing professional basketball and perhaps an opportunity in the BAL could help make that dream a reality.

At this time, Cole himself has not confirmed the report. With this in mind, stay tuned to HNHH as we will be sure to bring you the latest updates on this developing story.

Fans across the world continue to mourn the death of DMX, who passed away last month. His fiancée, Desiree Lindstrom, and his children were by his side at the time of his death. Lindstrom took to Instagram today where she offered an emotional reflection on Mother’s Day. She explained that this is the first Mother’s Day she’s celebrating without X by her side and revealed that she and their son paid a visit to his resting place. “Exodus and I decided to go spend Mother’s Day with his daddy. Today is the first Mother’s Day with him being in heaven and not here with us. We miss him deeply and love him so very much,” she wrote. “We love you Earl!!! Our angel…”

In a previous post, she shared a message to their son Exodus who she thanked for providing her with strength during these difficult times. “I love you so much and I thank God for picking me to be your Mother… I will always protect you and be that strong mother that you need in your life! Taylor Swift Was Mentioned In An AP US History Exam Question About Voter Turnout

Taylor Swift has done a number of remarkable things in her career. Records have been broken and new levels of pop stardom have been reached, but her latest feat is quite the unique one.

According to TMZ, Swift appeared on an AP US Government And Politics exam for high school students this year. The test-takers are, of course, not allowed to use their phones during the exam, so pictures of the exact question are nowhere to be found but it’s reported that it used the singer to ask how voter registration laws affect citizen participation.

Prior to last year’s election, Swift ramped up her political involvement in a number of ways, mostly in an attempt to convince voters to stop Donald Trump from attaining a second term in office. One example came last summer when she slammed the then-president’s decision to hold billions of dollars from and place restrictions on the USPS, which some believed was an attempt to hurt the postal services’ attempt to handle mail-in ballots prior to the election.

“Trump’s calculated dismantling of USPS proves one thing clearly: He is WELL AWARE that we do not want him as our president,” she wrote on Twitter. “He’s chosen to blatantly cheat and put millions of Americans’ lives at risk in an effort to hold on to power.”

In another instance, Swift tried to rally Tennessee voters to select democrat Phil Bredesen — rather than the republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn — for the open U.S. Senate seat in the state.

Toosii & Key Glock Get To The Bands On “Rich N***a”

Toosii is undoubtedly one of the hottest new artists out right now. The rapper has been keeping the streets hot over the past year with loose singles that he’s unleashed on his YouTube channel and Soundcloud page. However, it’s time that he takes over the Billbaord charts and it seems that his latest body of work, Thank You For Believing can very well help him accomplish that.

The 13-song project includes few features with Toosii holding down the album on his own for the most part. However, the features he does recruit brings out the best of him. He teams up with Key Glock for the banger, “rich n***a” that finds the two rappers connecting over glossy production by Zaytoven.

Check out the single below.

Quotable Lyrics

Hope I don’t crash out, know I be speedin’, yeah
We get on his top, we leave him bleedin’

J. Cole Will Release A Documentary For His Upcoming Album, ‘The Off-Season’

After three long years, J. Cole will finally release a new album on Friday. The Off-Season arrives after quite the wait following his last solo full-length effort, 2018’s KOD. Fans of the Dreamville rapper haven’t been exactly deprived of music from him since the 2018 effort as they received an impressive guest feature run from Cole as well as Revenge Of The Dreamers III which he appeared on multiple times. Nonetheless, just five days remain until The Off-Season drops and now, the project will be preceded by a documentary as Cole revealed in a tweet on Sunday.

Cole shared a trailer for the documentary on his Twitter page, one he recently reactivated, with the announcement. In it, he speaks about the current stage of his career over videos of him in the studio and shooting some hoops at a basketball court.

“This is the moment that a lot of your favorite rappers hit a crossroad,” he says. “Are you okay with getting comfortable? Did you leave no stone unturned creatively? And when I thought about that feeling, I was like ‘Nah, I’m not cool with that.’” The upcoming documentary will be released on Monday at 1 p.m.

The trailer arrives after Cole shared the first single, simply titled “Interlude,” from the upcoming album. Fellow Dreamville rappers Cozz recently shared his thoughts on The Off-Season, calling it Cole’s “best sh*t to date.”

You can watch a trailer for the documentary in the post above.

Trey Songz Is Reportedly Accused Of Hitting A Woman With His Car

The legal troubles are mounting for Trey Songz. According to TMZ, the singer was recently accused of striking a woman with his car earlier this month. The publication says Trey and the unnamed woman got into an argument on May 6 while they were in each other’s cars.

A police report that was filed afterward alleges the singer hit the woman’s car as she stepped out of her vehicle to confront him, and when he sped off from the scene, his vehicle also struck her hand in the process. The woman eventually called the police, but by the time they arrived, Songz had already fled the scene. The woman reportedly suffered injuries to her hand but refused medical attention. Police are calling the incident a hit-and-run and a representative for the singer has denied the allegations.

This is the latest in a string of accusations against Trey Songz. A little over a week ago, the singer was sued for punching a bartender at a Hollywood concert. In that matter, Songz allegedly jumped on the venue’s bar to sit during the show. He was then asked to get off the bar — a request which he ignored — and when a male bartender approached him to get his attention, the singer reportedly punched him in the head. He then looked at the other bartenders at the bar and went back to watching the concert. The bartender is seeking unspecified damages, citing physical and psychological injury.

Trey was also involved in a fighting a police officer during an NFL game, an altercation that, fortunately for him, resulted in no charges.

Trey Songz is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Pelicans Exec Fined After Claiming Refs Aren’t Fair To Zion Williamson

Zion Williamson is out indefinitely with an injury to his finger and it couldn’t have come at a worse time. With the Pelicans looking to get a play-in game spot, they need their young superstar more than ever although now, they will likely have to just ride it out and see if they can get by with the current roster.

After news of Williamson’s injury broke this week, Pelicans VP David Griffin came out and slammed the NBA’s officiating by saying that they have been purposely treating Zion unfairly and that their inaction led to his finger issue. Well, as we all expected, the NBA did not take kindly to this and promptly handed Griffin a $50K fine.

“He’s injured because of the open season that there’s been on Zion Williamson in the paint,” Griffin said. “He has been absolutely mauled in the paint on a regular basis to the point where other players have said to him, ‘I’m going to keep doing this to you’ because they don’t call it.”

The NBA has always fined executives and players when it comes to criticism involving the officials, so this latest fine comes as no surprise. It’s quite shocking the NBA cares more about protecting the refs than the players, but in 2021, common sense seems to be a scarce resource.

Andrew Garfield Will Not Be Returning For ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home:’ Report

Andrew Garfield played an on-screen Spiderman twice, once in 2012 and a second time in the 2014 sequel. The Amazing Spider-Man films were originally imagined as the beginning of a shared fictional world but due to performing below expectations, all subsequent installments were canceled.

A new iteration of the character portrayed by Tom Holland was then introduced, eventually intertwining with the Marvel Cinematic Universe beginning with Captain America: Civil War. The upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home film is set to include previous characters from past Spider-Man films including and several outlets report that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are set to reprise their roles in the film. According to Garfield, however, has shut down these rumors.

“They might be doing something, but I ain’t got a call,” Garfield explained to Josh Horowitz on MTV’s Happy Sad Confused podcast.

“I see how often Spider-Man is trending and it’s like people freaking out,” he said, adding, “And I’m just like, ‘guys, guys, guys’ — I wish I could just be able to speak to everyone and say, ‘I recommend that you chill.'”

Details regarding the plot of the film are scarce right now, but thanks to the ending of the last installment in the series, it’s known that Peter Parker will unite with Doctor Strange.

It’ll then focus on what happens after Spider-Man’s identity is exposed and the murder Mysterio is pinned on him. Jamie Foxx will appear in an important role as the villain Electro. The film is currently set for a December 17th, 2021 release.
