Lil Baby And Lil Durk Will Delay Their ‘Voice Of The Heroes’ Album Out Of Respect To DMX

Lil Baby and Lil Durk both had a strong grasp on the hip-hop world in 2020. The former can credit this success to his sophomore album, My Turn, which turned out the be one of the year’s most-streamed albums, while the latter put forth two impressive projects with Just Cause Y’all Waited 2 and The Voice to reach a new level of popularity. Now, together Baby and Durk will make the most of their talents on their upcoming joint album, Voice Of The Heroes. While the effort was due for a May 28 release date, the duo reportedly chose to delay it in respect to DMX.

The move will not have Voice Of The Heroes compete with DMX’s posthumous album, Exodus, which will be released on the 28th. So, in order to allow the late rapper to have a day of his own for the project, Baby and Durk opted to push their joint album back. According to HipHopDX, the news about the delay was shared by Swizz Beatz during an album listening session for Exodus, which was held in partnership with Universal Music Group. It’s unknown when Voice Of The Heroes will be released, but hopefully, listeners won’t have to wait too long to get their hands on it.

Back in March, Baby spoke about the joint project during an interview with MTV News. “God damn, that’s the new one. We coming. Me and [Lil] Durk dropping an album, fa sho,” he said. “When it comes to that street sh*t, the streets is like, we the voices and the heroes of this sh*t. You know what I’m saying? Kids look at us like heroes. I know they look at me like one and [Lil] Durk, too. That n**** been holding it down for a minute.”

Skrillex Is Back Alongside Swae Lee & Siiickbrain For New Song “Too Bizarre”

Skrillex started his career in the screamo/punk scenes and he eventually made his way to Dubstep where he found the vast majority of his success. The artist is an international sensation and just a few days ago, he started his comeback with a song called “Butterflies.” Now, Skrillex is back with yet another effort, this time featuring the likes of Swae Lee and Siiickbrain.

This song seems to go back to Skrillex’s emo and punk days as we are met with some crunch palm-muted guitar riffs and tight drums. Swae Lee carries the track with his vocal melodies and in the video, he goes all-in with the punk rock look. There are some screamed vocals at times and these are handled by Siiickbrain who certainly brings a unique twist to the track.

Let us know what you think of this combination, in the comments below.

Quotable Lyrics:

I can see you tomorrow (Tomorrow)
I can see you on and on (And on)
I’ve been drinkin’ all morning long (Hey, [?])
And I’m the one that you should done ([?])
Should we just call it off?
You were shinin’ and I saw you from afar (So far, far, far)

Valee Links Up With MVW For Classic Musical-Inspired “Still Do”

Classical composer Michael Vincent Waller is looking to embrace the sounds of hip-hop and soon, he will be dropping a project called Classic$ which will feature a plethora of hip-hop-inspired songs with a classic twist. He has already dropped a lead single called “Survey Says” and on Friday, he teamed up with Valee and producer Lex Luger for a new song dubbed “Still Do.”

“My core intention on Classic$ is to get classical music into hip-hop without dissolving either. It’s about allowing the production and samples to breathe organically,” Waller said according to Hype Magazine. “We’re not simply trying to add orchestral heavy strings. Instead, we’re relying on dark and episodic chamberal moments, which fit naturally. I hope people are like, ‘I didn’t know classical music could be so funky. I can’t believe trap is so sensuous and beautiful.’”

The song starts out with some nice piano lines and strings, before transitioning into some trap-inspired production that sees Valee offering up his signature flows and sound. Overall, this track makes for a unique blend of styles and it will be interesting to see how Waller continues this progression on his upcoming EP.

In a week, I spend twenty Gs

Freddie Gibbs Heads To DR On Chiki El De La Vaina’s “Entrégala”

There’s really no arguing that Freddie Gibbs is among the best rappers in the game right now. While many fans have known that for years, the rest of the world has been catching up in recent times, largely due to the Grammy nomination he received for Best Rap Album. He’s one of the few rappers in the game that can work with people like Madlib and Alchemist as easily as Young Chop and Mike Will Made-It (who apparently contributed to his forthcoming album).

Outside of hip-hop, Freddie Gibbs has dabbled with many different sounds with Dembow being the latest genre of music that he’s dived into. The rapper connected with Dominican rapper Chika El De La Vaina for their new collaboration, “Entrégala.” The different rhythm proves to be no challenge for Gibbs who complements the track with his rapid flow.

Last year, Freddie Gibbs teamed up with Toxic Crow on “No Pueden.”

I’m worldwide, I got bitches out in Lebanon
I can put your hoe up for the holidays

Triller Exec Accuses Dana White Of Trying To Recruit Jake Paul

Dana White has made his distaste for Jake Paul quite clear. Ever since Paul started trying to fight UFC guys, White has been steadily slandering the man and saying that he would never work with him. This hasn’t discouraged Paul, however, as he continues to make fun of White in the media and even demanded that the UFC President start paying his fighters fairly.

Now, however, a bombshell has been dropped by the head of Triller, Ryan Kavanaugh. In a new report from Bloody Elbow, Kavanaugh accused of White of trying to recruit Paul, saying that the UFC President has actually sent Paul offers to step inside of the Octagon. These comments came amid Kavanaugh’s frustration with White over a botched Georges St-Pierre and Oscar De La Hoya fight.

“And he’s trying to get Jake Paul to fight for the UFC now? Making him offers? Just hurting his own people and chasing ours,” Kavanaugh stated. As of right now, there is no proof of these offers and based on Paul’s comments over the past year, it seems like he is much more comfortable in the world of boxing.

Regardless, these accusations are quite interesting and we can only imagine what it would be like to see Paul in the Octagon.

Earthgang’s Remix Of Drake’s ‘Lemon Pepper Freestyle’ Explains Why Their ‘Ghetto Gods’ Album Is Delayed

This fall will mark two years since Earthgang dropped their debut album, Mirrorland. If the Atlanta rap duo had it their way, Earthgang’s sophomore album, titled Ghetto Gods, would already be in the hands of their awaiting supporters. Unfortunately for everyone involved, a bit more patience will need to be exercised, but in the meantime, supporters of the rap duo can enjoy Earthgang’s remix of Drake and Rick Ross’ “Lemon Pepper Freestyle” which they released on Saturday.

Wowgr8 and Johnny Venus depart from their usual soulful spirits as the former dives deep into introspection while the latter reflects on the past years of his life. Venus’ verse seemingly addresses the delayed album.

“Release date is what I’m waiting on / Interscope gotta crunch the numbers,” he raps. “This industry is flooded with mindless muddles cause lies sell / The ugly truth might not bring in the money / Don’t they know it’s real sh*t the people want? / A pause from the pill-pop subscription joint.”

Back in February, the rappers revealed the project would arrive the same day as J. Cole’s next full-length effort. That turned out to be Cole’s The Off-Season which dropped on Friday. That day came and went, however, without Earthgang’s new album. As a result, they opted to share their “truth” through the new freestyle “for those asking why Ghetto Gods didn’t drop.”

You can press play on the remix in the video above.

Joe Budden Apologizes To Rory

It’s been an eventful week in the world of Joe Budden. This week’s episode of The Joe Budden Podcast offered an implosive look into what’s been happening behind the scenes as tensions grew between Budden and his two co-hosts, Rory and Mal. Joe fired Rory in a fiery rant where he downplayed his co-hosts contributions to the show.

“Since Rory feels like he has so many options here, somehow he still feels like he’s running the show. He feels like he’s entitled to more,” he said. “Rory, you are in breach of your contract. And from this point forward, you are fired, and you are not welcome back.”

We heard from both Rory and Mal on Twitter shortly after the clip went viral. However, it seems that even Joe has taken some sort of accountability for the way he handled the situation. In fact, he offered an apology to Rory on the latest episode of the show. “Seeing all of this feedback and all this — I do need to apologize to Rory, as well. Maybe Rory and Mal, too, but definitely Rory,” Joe said before reflecting that “things sound a lot spicier in the go-out.”

Joe said that he didn’t feel like what he said was off-putting while recording the episode and suggested he was shocked by the traction of that particular clip. He said that he initially asked for that part to be edited out of the final cut.

“Ever since that last pod, I’ve just been having like pictures in my head of every moment that me and the guys have ever had together,” he continued with a maniacal laugh. “When I say I didn’t ask you to do shit for me — ’cause I don’t ask y’all to do shit for me but that’s a man thing to me. You just don’t ask men too much shit but when I said I didn’t ask you to do something, it don’t mean I’m not appreciative. It don’t mean I’m not grateful. It just means I never asked.”

He continued, “When do you say that and not sound like a dickhead?” He admitted that regardless of his intentions, it was wrong for him to address Rory with such a tone. He explained that it stems from a deep-rooted issue with authority.

“I don’t want that to affect people I love which is why I’m going to apologize to Rory because me and Rory have so many fly n***a moments together. Like, fly, friend type of vibey — like, it’s unfortunate that they might not feel that we’re so friendly today and it’s unfortunate that I can’t tell you how we got here, maybe aside from — if I’m taking accountability — poor leadership skills,” he said.

Later on in the episode, Joe invites his therapist for a conversation as they discuss accountability, trust, and more.

What are your thoughts on Joe’s apology? Do you think that he can repair his relationship with Rory and Mal in the future? Check out the latest episode below. Joe talks issues with Rory around the 55:45 mark.

Dana White Reportedly Ruined Massive GSP Vs. Oscar De La Hoya Fight

Dana White’s disdain for UFC and boxing crossovers has been evident over the last few years. While he allowed Conor McGregor to fight Floyd Mayweather in 2017, he has quickly changed his tune on allowing his fighters to get in the ring. For example, various UFC fighters have expressed interest in fighting against Jake Paul, however, White says that he will never work with the Paul brothers, which ultimately puts his own fighters in a tough spot.

Now, it is being reported by Bloody Elbow that White ruined a massive opportunity for one of the UFC’s biggest former stars. Georges St-Pierre and Oscar De La Hoya were actually going to fight in a massive boxing match on Triller. St-Pierre would have received a whole lot of money from the fight, however, White reportedly put a stop to it.

“This f—k nut (Dana White) kept Georges St-Pierre from making the biggest payday with me,” De La Hoya said on Instagram last week. De La Hoya’s comments were backed up by Triller head Ryan Kavanaugh who says White has been toying with Triller and won’t even return their phone calls. “I’ve tried to call and text Dana at least five times to make it work for both parties, not even the courtesy of a return call,” he said.

If you’re a GSP fan, this is certainly bad news as fans have been wondering when they would get to see him fight again. A match against someone like De La Hoya would bring in a ton of eyes, and now, we probably won’t ever get to see it.

Needless to say, White’s business philosophy has come as a hindrance to some of his biggest and best stars.
