Miami Rapper Tigoose Survived Miami Banquet Shooting, Dies In Car Crash: Report

Over Memorial Day Weekend, the El Mula Banquet Hall in Miami became a frightening site after a deadly ambush took place. Gunfire rang out resulting in the deaths of three people while 23 others were injured. Suspects have yet to be named, but a local rapper named Tigoose managed to avoid getting himself hurt. According to his father, who goes by the name “Goose,” Christopher “Tigoose” Osuna was scheduled to perform at El Mula before the shooting occurred. Tigoose wasn’t injured, but days later, he reportedly died in a fiery car crash.

According to WSVN 7News in Miami, Tigoose was in a vehicle with another person when they collided with an SUV driven by a pregnant mother who was riding with her six children. “My son was in the back seat,” the mother reportedly said. “He just had blood and everything coming from his nose. It was just crazy.”

“There was another car that left the scene,” she added. “That wasn’t just no make a mistake and you get in the wrong lane.” It’s reported that an Infiniti involved in the incident, said to be Tigoose and another person, was seen driving down the road on the wrong side of the road. Following the crash, the vehicle “burst into flames.”

Tigoose’s father reflected on his son avoiding injury in the shooting days prior. “Everyone else got hit but him,” said Goose. “To me, it’s like final destination. It ain’t happened that day but something happened to him another day.” He believes that the third car seen on surveillance footage fleeing the scene is somehow involved.

We send our condolences to Tigoose’s loved ones.

Clintn Lord Pushes The Boundaries On “Canceled”

Cancel culture has been the topic of discussion among many creative circles. Some have agreed that it’s necessary while others have believe that it’s infringing on free speech. Last week, Clintn Lord shared his thoughts on how to navigate through cancel culture in 2021 with his latest body of work, Canceled. The five-track project includes production from Green 808, Splurge, and Fantom Beats who played a pivotal role in curating Clintn sound on this project which he described as “sad boy vibes, rager music, and hyper mosh pit type of pop.”

“I was afraid for a while to do a lot of things,” he said in a statement. “I was doing things to get society to accept me and embrace me how I am. I had to accept that they will never accept me. To be unaccepted, you have to accept yourself.”

The Weeknd’s ‘Blinding Lights’ Is Now The Longest-Charting Solo Song In ‘Billboard’ Hot 100 History

The Weeknd’s is still winning awards for and setting new records with his 2020 album, After Hours. From nearly sweeping at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards to leaving with an armful of trophies at this year’s Juno Awards, the singer has been a force to reckon with. If that weren’t all, the singer’s continued presence on the Billboard singles chart has also been extremely noteworthy.

“Blinding Lights” recently became the longest-charting solo song in Billboard Hot 100 history after registering its 78th week, passing the previous record-holder, Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours,” to take the crown. Now the song sits behind Imagine Dragons’ “Radioactive” and Awolnation’s “Sail” to claim the overall record. The former leads the way with 87 weeks spent on the singles chart while the latter trails behind with 79 weeks.

The After Hours highlight and the album itself controversially failed to land any recognition at this year’s Grammys, but other award shows have honored the record. The track won Top Hot 100 Song, Top Radio Song, and Top R&B Song at last month’s Billboard Music Awards, which also saw him win Top Artist, Top Male Artist, and Top Hot 100 Artist. Elsewhere in 2021, “Blinding Lights” won Song Of The Year, Titanium Song Of The Year, and TikTok Bop Of The Year at the iHeartRadio Music Awards as well as Single Of The Year at the Juno Awards.

Shotta Spence Shares New Single “Don’t Fold”

Shotta Spence made a mark earlier this year with his single, “Young & Humble” which hailed production from Mike Will-Made It and Chopsquad DJ. The single started making a massive buzz but now, he’s returned with an uplifting follow-up to set the tone for the summer. Spence shared “Don’t Fold” over the weekend, a record emphasizing the importance of loyalty. The single was released alongside a new set of visuals which include footage of Spence at several protests last year.

“The song is about keeping the loyalty and unity strong between my family and friends. In the video you can see the people I grew up with in Franklin Township NJ and the synergy that Asians, Blacks and all cultures have there,” he said. “I feel like people need to see that diverse communities do exist and people of different backgrounds can build things of value together.”

Scottie Pippen Accused Of Taking Digs At Michael Jordan In Memoir

Michael Jordan’s inclusion in ESPN’s acclaimed The Last Dance docuseries was hailed by sports fans, but not everyone was happy with the final product. The documentary chronicled Jordan’s biggest Chicago Bulls moments, many that took place alongside Scottie Pippen, but the latter would later express his dissatisfaction with how he was portrayed.

“I don’t think it was that accurate in terms of really defining what was accomplished in one of the greatest eras of basketball, but also by two of the greatest players – and one could even put that aside and say the greatest team of all time,” Pippen told The Guardian in December 2020. “I didn’t think those things stood out in the documentary. I thought it was more about Michael trying to uplift himself and to be glorified. I think it also backfired to some degree in that people got a chance to see what kind of personality Michael had.”

Pippen is preparing to tell his story courtesy of his memoir Unguarded, and fans believe that the sports legend is using the opportunity to send a few shots Jordan’s way. In the description shared by Simon & Schuster, they write:

“Scottie Pippen has been called one of the greatest NBA players for good reason. Simply put, without Pippen, there are no championship banners—let alone six—hanging from the United Center rafters. There’s no Last Dance documentary. There’s no “Michael Jordan” as we know him. The 1990s Chicago Bulls teams would not exist as we know them.

Elsewhere in the description, the publisher added that Pippen “cringed at being labeled Jordan’s sidekick” and in the book, he spoke about how the media, as well as the Bulls’ management team, should have treated him with more respect. “He discusses what it was like dealing with Jordan on a day-to-day basis, while serving as the real leader within the Bulls locker room.”

Unguarded is set to hit shelves this November, so check out Pippen’s Instagram announcement below and let us know if you’ll be picking this up.

Biggie & Jam Master Jay’s Daughters Are Bringing NYC Pizza To L.A.

The flavors of New York City will be brought to sunny Los Angeles, courtesy of the daughters of The Notorious B.I.G. and Jam Master Jay. Biggie’s daughter, T’yanna Wallace and Jam Master Jay’s Tyra Myricks daughter have teamed up to launch their own New York-style pizzeria in Los Angeles called Juicy Pizza. The new pizza joint will serve the classics like cheese and pepperoni. According to LA Eater, they will also be serving other spins of New York specialties like chopped cheese egg rolls, bacon, egg, and cheese, and jerk chicken.

The grand opening of Juicy Pizza is set for June 12th. Though it will be an exclusive event, there will be a giveaway for an invitation. The idea for the pizzeria came after Myricks realized there was “no good pizza in Los Angeles.”

“The more I thought about how to bring that New York theme to Los Angeles, I felt, who represents New York more than Biggie Smalls?” She told Business Insider. Myricks said she told Wallace about the idea. “She loved it,” Myricks added.

Myricks, who also works as the director of design, merchandising, and development for the OVO brand, also designed the merch for the restaurant which is available for purchase on their site.

What’s even better is that the pizza restaurant will also have an exclusive cannabis lounge.
