Roddy Ricch Confirms He’s Okay After Music Video Shooting

Fans throughout the hip-hop world were scared on Sunday night as reports surfaced that there was a shooting in Atlanta, on the set of a music video featuring the likes of 42 Dugg and Roddy Ricch. Reports coming from the scene were murky at best, although eventually, it was revealed that three people were wounded and two others went to the hospital with small injuries. 

Today, Roddy Ricch took to Twitter where he addressed his fans about the incident. The artist confirmed that he was okay and that he only has one thing on his mind right now, which is, of course, providing brand new music for his fans.

“Ain’t nobody shoot at me. we all good. im juss tryna feed the streets,” Roddy wrote. Prior to Roddy’s message, 42 Dugg came out and offered a similar message as he said “Appreciate the concerns though I did not get SHOT!!!!!!!” on Instagram. Needless to say, it’s great to hear that these two artists are doing just fine.

We also hope that everyone hurt in the shooting is also doing okay. An investigation into the shooting is currently ongoing and at this point, an arrest has yet to be made.

K Camp Drops Off “No More Parties Freestyle”

The Atlanta hitmaker has been dropping off tons of music in recent times, whether it’s solo music or with the RARE Sound collective. 2020 was a productive year for that exact reason. The Boston Calling Festival Has Canceled Its 2021 Event

2020 was a year mostly without music festivals, and so far, it remains to be seen how 2021 will pan out on that front. Glastonbury has already called off its 2021 event and it looks like Coachella may get the axe as well. Boston Calling canceled its 2020 fest and now it is repeating that this year, as organizers announced today that the 2021 event will not be happening.

In a note shared on social media, organizers wrote:

“After exploring all possible options for hosting Boston Calling this year, we have made the difficult decision in conjunction with local and state authorities to cancel the 2021 festival. The health and safety of our entire community is always out top priority, and there was no appropriate scenario under which we could provide the Boston Calling experience you love and deserve.

While we are sad to go another year without the festival, we have set our sights on 2022 — mark your calendars for Memorial Day weekend. We look forward to sharing more information around headliners, lineup and vendors as we get closer to the 2022 festival. […] Stay safe, we look forward to seeing everyone again soon.”

While Boston Calling was one of the last major 2020 festivals to be called off, they have made the decision early this year. Now, music fans wait to see if this latest cancellation will be indicative of a larger trend for festivals in 2021.

Juice WRLD Fights Giants In His Motocross-Inspired ‘Conversations’ Video

Juice WRLD‘s posthumous video for “Conversations,” the latest single from his album Legends Never Die, features a CGI giant and some impressive motocross tricks interspersed with footage from Juice’s tours and performances. He also freestyles on his tour bus at the end of the video, highlighting the impressive skills that endeared him to his fans even more during his life.

The CGI monster in “Conversations” is just the latest use of the technique in a posthumous Juice WRLD video. Previously, he and Trippie Redd were digitized to fight apocalyptic zombies in the cartoon-ish video for Internet Money’s “Blast Off,” while Juice teamed up with The Weeknd in the animated video for “Smile.”

Meanwhile, the real Juice WRLD appeared alongside Young Thug in the “Bad Boy” video directed by Cole Bennett, which was filmed before Juice’s passing in 2019. As more videos come out, it’ll be interesting to see what other techniques will be used to keep Juice’s image and memory alive. Could a deep-fake video or hologram eventually perform for him in the future? Maybe, but for now, the animated avatars and archival footage have done more than a serviceable job of providing fans a visual component as they continue to enjoy his music after his death.

44 Pounds Of Cocaine-Covered Corn Flakes Seized In Ohio

On Friday, a press release was published by the US Border Patrol that detailed a major drug seizure that had occurred on February 13th. In the seizure, Border Patrol officers in Cincinnati intercepted a major shipment of cereal coming from South America which contained about 44 pounds of corn flakes that were coated in cocaine. It’s estimated that the cocaine in the shipment could have a street value of nearly $3 million. 

The shipment, which was slated to be shipped to a private residence in Hong Kong, was alerted to Cincinnati officers by one of their narcotics dogs named Bico. When officers took a closer look inside the boxes of cereal, they found that the flakes were coated with a grayish substance that was later determined to be cocaine.

“The men and women at the Port of Cincinnati are committed to stopping the flow of dangerous drugs,” said Cincinnati Port Director Richard Gillespie. “They continue to use their training, intuition, and strategic skills to prevent these kinds of illegitimate shipments from reaching the public.”

Drug traffickers apparently continue to become more and more creative with how they package their illicit substances.

They always collaborate with a plethora of different brands, and Nike is typically at the top of their to-do list. In 2021, a plethora of Supreme x Nike collabs are destined to hit the market, especially when it comes to the sneaker world. In fact, with the Spring/Summer season in full swing, a new Nike SB Dunk Low collaboration has been teased.

This Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low is a play on the classic Dunk High collab from the early 2000s. In the photos below, you can see that there are four colorways including black, red, green, and blue. Each model has snakeskin overlays all while stars are placed throughout. These kicks stay true to their High counterparts, and longtime fans will definitely be looking to cop some pairs.

Juice WRLD’s “Conversations” Video Features Never-Before-Seen Freestyle

Juice WRLD’s estate has officially released the music video for “Conversations”, which includes footage of the late Chicago rapper freestyling in his tour bus.

The video, directed by Steve Cannon, includes some unseen footage of the rapper in the studio and his tour bus, juxtaposed with scenes of dirt bikers pulling off impressive stunts. After the song plays out, Juice WRLD appears on his bus with a couple of friends hyping him up as he freestyles. He starts by catching his flow and repeating the same line a few times before he gets to feeling himself, going off with lyrics about his fashion and more. “Pull up and I shoot your b*tch right in her breast, I don’t got respect, n***a, I disrespect,” he rhymes, which seems to really get him going on a tangent.

The freestyle previously hadn’t been released. 

“Conversations” was recently certified platinum at the beginning of this month, so it makes sense that Lil Bibby and everybody else on Juice’s team would want to release something special.

DK Metcalf Displays Insane Dunking Ability

If you’ve been following the NFL over the past couple of years, then you know just how highly regarded DK Metcalf is when it comes to his athleticism. When he was drafted into the NFL, everyone knew just how jacked the wide receiver was, although no one was certain if his physique would translate to stats. Now, Metcalf is arguably the best wide receiver on the Seattle Seahawks, and he is constantly making heroic plays, just like his chase down of Budda Baker.

As it turns out, Metcalf is pretty good at much more than just football. In a new video posted to Instagram by Albert Lee, Metcalf can be seen playing basketball, where he goes up for a massive windmill dunk that completely rattles the rim. The football star gets a massive reaction for the play, and it is very easy to see why.

Metcalf is clearly talented at everything he does, and the above clip makes us feel like the football star should go out and try his hand at the NBA dunk contest. The contest has been a little stagnant over the years and perhaps some celebrity involvement could make the contest that much more exciting.

Either way, Metcalf looks to be in great shape, and we can’t wait to see what he does on the field next season.

Tina Lawson Showers Jay-Z With Praise: “You Are A Bad Ass Brother”

The world is congratulating Jay-Z after the massive announcement this morning that his Ace Of Spades champagne brand would be entering a partnership with LVMH, the luxury multinational luxury corporation. It’s a massive deal for hip-hop, specifically, since Armand De Brignac was created after Hov called for a boycott of Cristal champagne after they suggested its association with the culture, and Black artists, would harm the brand.

There’s been an outpouring amount of support and love for Hov today including from his mother-in-law, Tina Lawson, who penned an incredibly heartwarming, yet lengthy, “love letter” to her son-in-law. “Each person that performed Jazmine Sullivan, Her, and the Weekend all slaying their performances and making Black Excellence shine and us all proud,” Tina wrote, before referencing the amount of backlash the rapper faced for teaming up with the NFL. 

“Today Jay I salute you and your Latest venture in selling 50% of your Champagne Co to LVMH,” she continued. “You are a bad ass brother and I hope that you continue to pave the way for others like you have in the past !! And I have seen such Ask extreme kindness and generosity so many times that people don’t even know anything about! You are a true man who has admitted publicly when you’ve made mistakes in a very brave and classy way ! I love you so much!!”
