Isaiah Rashad Spits Bars In New Snippet

Isaiah Rashad’s most recent album The Sun’s Tirade was released in 2016, the same year we last heard a full-length project from labelmate Ab-Soul. The year after came Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. and SZA’s CTRL. Suffice it to say, TDE fans have been forced to exercise patience, arguably more so than fans of any other label. And while good things tend to come to those who wait, many have simply given up hope that Isaiah Rashad’s long-awaited new album will ever see the light of the sun.

Or will it? There has admittedly been an increased level in pre-release teasers, though it would be premature to call it a rollout. Isaiah himself has been relatively open about the unfinished state of his project, though he was recently seen filming a music video with Quality Control’s Duke Deuce. Now, Zay has taken to Twitter once again, this time to highlight an upcoming banger he’s got in the cut.

“Second verse kinda hard lol,” teases Zay, sharing a solid forty-nine seconds worth of new music. Maintaining that he’s been “too busy getting his mental straight,” Rashad clearly hasn’t lost a step as he absolutely slides over the instrumental. There’s an effortless charisma exuded throughout, one that should please longtime fans eager to catch up with the elusive emcee. And should this new teaser be any indication, perhaps we should expect some concrete news to surface in the weeks to come. Or not — after all, TDE has been certainly making an artform out of the delay.

Check out Isaiah Rashad’s new snippet below, and sound off if you’re excited to hear the full version.

Gen Z Tries To Cancel Eminem On TikTok, Millennials Fight Back

Eminem is at the center of a debate on social media right now as Gen Z and Millennials argue over the rapper’s cancellation on TikTok, with the former group pointing out his past problematic lyrics and the latter generation fighting back to combat the decision to leave Em behind.

You might have noticed Eminem’s name in the trending topics last night and this morning and wondered to yourself, did this man drop another surprise album? Always stirring the pot, even when he does nothing at all, quite frankly, Eminem is currently the latest to take on cancel culture, as a group of Gen Z TikTokers plead their case to leave the rapper in the past because of his lyrics, most notably for something he says at the end of a verse in “Love The Way You Lie” with Rihanna.

@snmmerr

to everyone that is canceling him I literally love u😁

♬ love the way you lie – sam

Dozens of people are angry at the Detroit rap legend for the following lines: “If she ever tries to f**king leave again/I’mma tie her to the bed and set this house on fire.” It’s understandable why they would react to this lyric in such a strong manner, but nobody expected the line, which was released eleven years ago, to cause such a ruckus on social media this week.

While Gen Z seems adamant about no longer supporting the 48-year-old superstar, millennials are fighting back on Twitter and TikTok with their take on the matter, laughing in the faces of their younger counterparts and claiming that Slim Shady will never be silenced.

Where do you stand on this issue? Are you a fan of Eminem or do you think cancel culture will get him this time?

Robin Thicke Recalls Robbery That Inspired “Shooter” With Lil Wayne

The strangest of occurrences in real life often make for the best creative inspirations, and Robin Thicke’s experience in being a bank robbery victim spawned a hit. In 2003, a twenty-something Thicke released his debut album A Beautiful World, and included on the tracklist was a song titled “Oh Shooter.” Three years later, Lil Wayne would use the track for his song “Shooter” featured on Tha Carter II. Thicke visited The Kelly Clarkson Show yesterday (March 1) where he discussed how he penned the song about enduring a bank robbery years earlier as a teen and explained why he wasn’t as frightened as he probably should have been.

“When I was around 18-years-old, there was a crazy story that took place where I was in the bank getting some cash for a weekend vacation and the bank got robbed,” explained the singer. So, these two guys came in with masks, automatic weapons, and told everyone to get down on the ground. And so, I ended up writing this whole song about my experience going through a live bank robbery, and years later, Lil Wayne ended up doing a verse on it and put it on his album, and he won a Grammy on that album, actually.”

Clarkson couldn’t get over how Thicke relayed his story with ease. “It was a little traumatizing, however, once it was over, I was okay with it,” he said. “It reminded me of the movies. It seemed kind of surreal at the time. I didn’t really feel threatened as much as I did, like, ‘Wow this really does look like a movie.'” Thicke believes he has figured out why he wasn’t as affected as some think he should have been.

“It was probably because [the theives] were very young. They seemed like they were 19, 18-years-old kids,” said Thicke. “They looked just like my friends, dressed up in masks, you know what I mean? I didn’t see these big muscular, adult men. I saw like, two slim teenage men come in and they looked like my buddies.”

Check out his clip, and the music video for “Shooter,” below.

Nick Cannon & Abby De La Rosa Rumored To Be Expecting Twin Boys

It’s been a busy season for Nick Cannon. This last year has spelled significant changes for millions of Americans, as well as billions worldwide due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, in addition to being under quarantine, Cannon’s personal life has clogged headlines. He faced allegations of anti-Semitism following his remarks during a broadcast, and later, he found his business dealings in jeopardy. The media mogul reportedly took some time away to have discussions with Jewish leaders before issuing an apology and having many of his projects restored.

However, that was just one bit of Cannon’s controversies. Supermodel Jessica White shared a series of photos on social media with Cannon where she declared him to be the love of her life. According to the beauty, they were together for years and even planned on having kids together, but sadly, White revealed she miscarried. Around that time, the mother of Cannon’s son, Brittany Bell, announced that she was pregnant and soon, it was shared that Cannon was the father.

White decided to make her exit but it wouldn’t be long before another model, LaNisha Nicole—who you may recognize from the music video to Pharrell and Jay-Z’s “Frontin’,” shared a few photos of herself with the actor. They were holding hands and it seemed as if she was suggesting they were in a relationship, but the nature of their union is unclear now that Cannon and a woman named Abby De La Rosa may have announced she’s pregnant with Cannon’s twins.

It’s a bit of a whirlwind, but for Valentine’s Day, it looked as if Cannon surprised at least two women with the same decorative balloon surprise (see videos below). It was during that time that people began to speculate that Abby was the latest mother of Cannon’s children, and she seemed to confirm that on her Instagram page with a series of “N-Credible” posts just hours ago.

If Cannon is the father of De La Rosa’s twins (boys), it will make for the mogul’s fifth and sixth children. Cannon and Brittany Bell welcomed their second child back in December and Cannon has twins with Mariah Carey. Check out Abby’s posts below.
