Saweetie Describes Her Love Life As “Putting Money Into My Bank Account”

After being hunkered down in her artist boot camp, Saweetie has reemerged and is now hot on the press circuit. The rapper recently revealed that she’d been under a lockdown to improve her overall skills, but once she released her latest single “Fast (Motion),” the Bay Area artist is back in full effect. Aside from her music moves, Saweetie has made headlines over her acrimonious split from Migos rapper Quavo, but in an interview with E!’s Nightly Pop, she made it clear that the last thing she’s worried about at the moment is sparking up a new romance.

“What is my love life like? It’s the pillows, the studio, and putting more money into my bank account,” said Saweetie.

After having a laugh with the hosts, she said, “That’s my love language right now.” Adding, “This is for all my women out there. I just feel like after a relationship, relationships take up a lot of time. So, right now, I’m just getting back to self because perfecting my craft is my number one priority and if, you know, if Cupid find me and shoot me then, shoot me, baby.”

“But, until then, I’m working.” Check out more from the interview below to hear Saweetie talk about the public thirsting over her father, how she practices self-care, and how the rapper is preparing for the Billboard Music Awards.

Issa Rae Says Nipsey Hussle Helped Repair Her Relationship With Lauren London

Issa Rae’s breakthrough show, Insecure, is coming to an end after its fifth and final season, but it’s clear she has more where that came from. Recently it was announced she’s helming the reboot of Project Greenlight, the IFC reality show from the aughts in which Matt Damon and Ben Affleck helped filmmakers make their dream projects (with lots of nightmares along the way, of course). Rae spoke about the revival during a recent profile with Vanity Fair, though she also shared a story about the late Nipsey Hussle.

According to the Insecure star, HBO initially thought Insecure should star not Rae but a woman of lighter skin color would be a better fit. When they suggested London, Rae took offense, but she later discovered that London, who was Hussle’s partner from 2013 until his death, heard about her complaint and even took offense.

But in 2019, at Diddy’s 50th birthday party in 2019, Hussle played mediator. “He was like, ‘You should just talk to her. Let me set it up,’” she said. “It actually sparked an amazing two-hour conversation. We had so much in common. She was like, ‘People don’t understand, I’m an awkward Black girl.’” She added, “In the same way that I was upset about the limited portrayal of Black women, she was like, ‘People do the same thing to me.’ I completely get that.”

DMX’s Ex-Wife Tashera Recalls Meeting Him As A Kid: “Good Girl Loves Bad Boy”

TV One sat down with DMX for what is said to have been his final interview, and it’s reportedly a moving television event. The network poised DMX for a feature on Uncensored not long before his untimely passing, and his loved ones have also sat down with publications to speak about their final moments with the rapper, including DMX’s ex-wife, Tashera Simmons. DMX and Tashera were just kids when they first met and were married for 11 years, sharing four children together. Tashera recently spoke with PEOPLE Every Day about the late rapper and how she’s been coping since his passing.

“I am torn. Our children are suffering and trying to get to over that ‘not enough time with their dad’ thing; it’s a tough time,” she said.

“At the same time … I used to think that this was insensitive to say, but I do believe he is in a better place, just because of the words he left me with. He was never afraid of passing on. And I used to be aggravated with that, but now I understand.” She also claimed that she was unaware that DMX filmed his final interview.

“I didn’t know that it was filmed,” said Tashera. “When they called me, I didn’t realize that this was the last interview that he’d done. And the things that he talked about in it were so powerful to them, stories that he spoke about of myself and him that I didn’t even remember, really, until… They literally had to replay it.”

She also recalled how she first met a young DMX when they were just 11-years-old. “Good girl loved bad boy,” said Tashera, who first saw Earl Simmons as he was allegedly using his dog to steal a woman’s purse. “The way they jogged past me and caught my vision, our eyes … and I was just like, ‘My hero.’ I’m trying to find the words to explain what I’m trying to say. But it just felt right in a crazy moment. It felt right.”

Vanessa Bryant Responds To Michelle Obama’s Praise: “I’m Truly Touched”

Over the weekend, the friends and loved ones of Kobe Bryant joined together to honor the fallen sports legend. Over a year after Bryant lost his life in the tragic helicopter crash along with his teen daughter Gianna and seven of their friends, the Los Angeles Lakers icon was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. It was an emotional event that included a moving speech by widow Vanessa Bryant, and while it was unfortunate that eldest daughter Natalia couldn’t attend, it was later revealed that the 18-year-old was off to her senior prom.

There were thousands of responses to Vanessa’s speech as the public flooded timelines with photos, memories, and hot takes, but it was a social media post from former First Lady Michelle Obama that “touched” Vanessa. “As a wife and mother, I have thought a lot about what Vanessa Bryant has been going through this past year,” wrote Michelle.

“I was touched hearing her speak with such courage and strength this past weekend at the Basketball Hall of Fame induction ceremony honoring Kobe, and I am proud to join so many others in building upon Gianna’s legacy by supporting the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation,” she continued. “@VanessaBryant, all my love to you and the girls and the next generation of athletes you are working to empower. #PlayGigisWay.”

In the comments, Vanessa replied, “This is so beautiful. I am truly touched. Thank you so much @michelleobama My love to you always. [praying hands emoji][purple heart emoji].”

DJ Khaled, Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch, And Bryson Tiller Throw A Party On A Yacht In Their Video For ‘Body Motion’

DJ Khaled released this 12th album, Khaled Khaled, two weeks ago, but he’s already released six videos from it. They include “Sorry Not Sorry” with Jay-Z and Nas, “We Going Crazy” with HER and Migos, “Let It Go” with Justin Bieber and 21 Savage, and more. For his latest, “Body in Motion,” he connects with Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch, and Bryson Tiller for a lively video that shows the quartet having the time of their lives while partying on a yacht with a sizeable cast of women.

The new video arrives as each of the song’s guest acts continue work on forthcoming projects. Lil Baby is set to release his joint project, Voice Of The Heroes, with Lil Durk in the coming weeks. The duo planned to drop it on May 28 but decided to push it back out of respect for DMX, whose posthumous album, Exodus, will be released that day. Roddy Ricch is currently hard at work on his sophomore album, which is rumored to be titled Love Is Barely Real Anymore, while Bryson Tiller will release his long-awaited album, Serenity, at some point in the coming months.

Lamar Odom Reveals Ketamine Has Helped With His Sobriety

Many people don’t understand the use of drugs in order to help someone with their sobriety, but that’s the exact formula that Lamar Odom has been following. It was back in 2015 when the devastating news surfaced that Odom had been hospitalized after being found unresponsive in a Nevada brothel. The former basketball star would go on to suffer one dozen seizures, heart attacks, and several strokes, and after a lengthy recovery period, Odom was back on his feet.

Still, Odom’s sobriety has been a long journey considering the 41-year-old admitted that he first dabbled in illegal drugs at the age of 12. He told Good Morning America that for the past two years, his physicians have been monitoring his doses of ketamine in order to help him stay clean.

“I went to rehab and did some other things, but ketamine came into my life at the right time,” said Odom. “I’m feeling amazing… I’m alive. I’m sober. I’m happy.” Ketamine itself has been sold illegally on the streets and is a drug that is said to cause hallucinations if improperly used. It has also been used as an anesthetic for veterinarians, but in microdosing, it can reportedly be a benefit to people dealing with suicidal thoughts, PTSD, or anxiety.

“I don’t wake up looking to do lines … or waking up in a dark place or feeling unfulfilled,” Odom added. “When Kobe [Bryant] passed away, you know, the old Lamar, that’d have been every excuse in the world for me to go get high, [but] doing drugs didn’t even enter my mind.” The use of ketamine for mental health is still highly controversial, but it’s something that Odom won’t quit in the near future.

“I don’t think I will stop it,” he said. “I wouldn’t want to try to stop to be great. If I have greatness inside of me, I want to try to get it out.” Check it a clip below.

6ix9ine Responds To Jake Paul’s Call For A Fight: “He’s On Steroids”

Last month, Shamir Bolivar, or Shadow, passed away. The Shadow Group owner was a premier security guard for several celebrities including both Jake Paul and Tekashi 6ix9ine. When he died, the rapper’s ex, Sara Molina, took to social media to confirm his passing and even mentioned that Shadow allegedly helped her during her relationship with 6ix9ine, but it doesn’t look like 6ix9ine holds the same sensitivity toward Shadow or his death. He has decided to use Shadow as a way of continuing his newly formed beef with Jake Paul, and it doesn’t seem to be slowing anytime soon.

Earlier today (May 18), Paul answered a few questions from his Instagram followers and revealed that he’s open to going toe-to-toe with 6ix9ine in the ring. “I want to because he deserves to get his ass beat and I want to do it for all the people he’s disrespected,” wrote Paul.

He added, “But honestly would be too easy and a 30 second fight + he wouldn’t show up in the ring on the day of the fight but yes I would love to knock him out.”

After Akademiks reposted a screenshot of Jake Paul’s answer, 6ix9ine popped up in the comments. “I think he’s on steroids like his security guard who passed away @jakepaul,” wrote Tekashi. At this point, the public has come to see 6ix9ine’s low blows as a part of his shtick, as he’s regularly targeted the deceased friends and relatives of anyone who has called him out.
