Kevin Durant finally returned to the court this past season after missing an entire year with an Achilles injury. Throughout the season, Durant had his ups and downs although he was eventually able to get healthy for the playoffs. Unfortunately, his teammates couldn’t say the same and as a result, the Nets were bounced out of the second round by the Milwaukee Bucks.
Since then, Durant has joined Team USA where he will now be headed to the Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Many were surprised by his decision to play for Team USA considering he has been through so many injuries over the last couple of years. However, as KD told The Athletic, he feels as though playing for the Olympic team will keep him much sharper for next season.
“Every chance that I can get that I’m healthy and my mind’s in the right place to play basketball, I’m going to go out there and play,” Durant explained. “Finished the year off healthy, the regular season and the playoffs, so I felt it would be cool to get, I guess, a kickstart on next season by getting in shape a little earlier in the summer with Team USA.”
The Olympic team will also feature the likes of Jayson Tatum, Bradley Beal, Damian Lillard, and even James Harden, so you know these guys will be the favorites. No other country has this much firepower and the U.S. will be looking to show the world why they always seem to win the Gold Medal.

LeBron James’ big role in Space Jam: A New Legacy will finally be on display next week as the film releases on Friday, July 16th. For the last couple of years, fans have been waiting to finally see LeBron’s rendition of the classic movie and they won’t have to wait that much longer. The film has been screened to a few audiences so far and while some are skeptical about the movie, there are others who quite enjoyed it.
Nick Jonas is among the latter group as he was one of the first people to see the movie. The Jonas Brothers have a song called “Mercy” on the Space Jam soundtrack, so it only makes sense that the youngest brother would only have good things to say about the movie.
“Just saw Space Jam… so awesome! Killed it @KingJames and the entire team! Loved hearing our new song MERCY in it too,” he wrote. “Let’s go! Y’all are gonna love this movie! Something for everybody.”
LeBron eventually replied to Jonas saying “Thank you brother!! By the way love “Mercy.” While the entire exchange was pretty well just a marketing tool for the film, you can tell that both men are genuinely excited to be a part of the project, and it will be interesting to see how fans and critics react when it drops.

DeMarcus Cousins is fresh off of a deep run in the NBA Playoffs with the Los Angeles Clippers where he got to get some big minutes in the Western Conference Finals. Now, Cousins is enjoying his offseason where he can take some time for himself and get right for next season where he could very well end up with yet another contending team.
In the meantime, Cousins has been securing some business deals, including his most recent one with Trojan condoms, where he now gets to promote their Ultra Fit line. In the video clip below, Cousins stars in the latest Trojan ad where he talks about his injury history and then somehow relates it to condoms. The analogy they are making here is a bit of a reach, but hey, if Cousins is getting the bag from it, more power to him.
NBA Twitter immediately picked up on the advertisement and decided to roast Cousins as the whole commercial and its concept were pretty amusing. At the end of the day, Cousins didn’t do anything wrong here although when you appear in a condom ad, you better prepare for just a tiny bit of playful roasting.

Coming out of Miami, Sylvan LaCue has been one of the more consistent voices from the city and after changing his name from QuESt, the artist has been embarking on an EP series called Young Sylvan. With parts one and two dropping in February and April respectively, LaCue is now back with part 3 and as fans can imagine, this project contains incredible storytelling that will make you feel as though you were a part of LaCue’s life story.
In this new project, LaCue continues to recount his hardships while also showcasing his songwriting ability and knack for writing clever bars. At five songs and 13 minutes, this is an extremely easy listen and by the end of it, he’s going to have you wanting even more. As for features, there is only one to be found here and it is on the track “To The Max” with Merlaku Ra. Overall, it’s yet another great effort and it’s one that requires your attention.
