Nas Celebrates His First Grammy Win For “King’s Disease”

It’s hard to believe that Nas has never taken home a Grammy award until this year, when he and Hit-Boy claimed the Best Rap Album for King’s DiseaseConsidering that Nas is widely regarded as one of the greatest rappers of all time, some concluded that he has been long overdue for decades now. In any case, the time finally arrived for the Queensbridge legend, and Nas recently took a moment to celebrate his milestone achievement.

From the look of it, Nas recently held a celebratory gathering of friends and family, where a few quick shots provide a glimpse at what transpired. Nas’ daughter Destiny shared a few clips of the festivities, revealing that Nas was the recipient of a glowing toast, one that praised his perseverance and work ethic. Another clip finds Nas cutting a massive cake adorned with the luxurious artwork of his Grammy-winning album.

It’s certainly wholesome to see Nas enjoying his victory, about as well-deserved as it comes. Considering the fact that his debut album Illmatic is hailed as one of the greatest albums in music, period — not to mention the fact he’s got a few other classics and near-classics tucked away — the fact that Nas never took home a trophy left many questioning The Grammys’ efficacy as a barometer of the hip-hop climate. Despite the frequent snubs, it’s clear that hip-hop never stopped appreciating the brilliant penmanship of Nasir Jones. One has to wonder — what holds more value to a rap legend? Near universal acclaim from rap fans worldwide — or a Grammy award?

Either way, we’d like to extend our congratulations to Nas for taking home his first Grammy award for King’s Disease.

Alexis Skyy Confirms Fetty Wap Is Not Her Daughter’s Father

Alexis Skyy previously claimed that Fetty Wap was the father of her 3-year-old daughter Alaiya Grace, but it was revealed in December 2020 that Brandon Medford is actually the little girl’s biological dad. In a new report, Alexis Skyy is confirming that Medford is her daughter’s father, claiming that she asked him to take a paternity test two years ago.

According to new exclusive details by The Shade Room, Alexis Skyy allegedly claims to have contacted Brandon Medford two years ago to confirm his paternity of 3-year-old Alaiya Grace, who was born three months prematurely and diagnosed with hydrocephalus. Brandon appeared on an episode of Kitchen Talk to discuss the matter, claiming that he willingly took the test and heard back a week later that he was the child’s father.

“I was just shocked and then I was actually excited to know that I do have a little girl in this world and I can become her father,” said Medford, co-founder of PTG 365. Alexis Skyy called “cap” on his claims, said he’s a “fraud” and then said that he sold her a truck without proper documentation. Alexis reportedly says that Brandon has been absent from her daughter’s life and has not been financially supportive.

Meanwhile, Fetty Wap has been posting all kinds of pictures and videos with his kids, proving that he’s there for his 6-year old daughter, his 3-year-old son, and his other children.

We’ll continue to keep you posted on this dramatic unfolding as more developments occur.

Travis Scott’s CACTI Spiked Seltzer Is Selling Out At A Record Pace

Earlier this week, Travis Scott‘s new spiked seltzer brand CACTI finally launched. Ever since the major brand shoutout by Travis on “Franchise,” the public has been waiting for months to grab the rapper’s new drink. Now, Cactus Jack and hard seltzer fans alike have been making sure they support the fledgling brand in its highly anticipated debut. The Grammy-nominated rapper was recently spotted in Los Angeles in honor of CACTI’s launch, and as with any Travis Scott sighting, chaos promptly ensued as fans gathered around the artist, asking for autographs for their various assortments of Cactus Jack merchandise.

However, the fervor and all-around excitement for Travis Scott’s CACTI brand didn’t stop there. The Astroworld artist’s newly released spiked agave seltzer has been performing extremely well across the entire United States. In addition to selling out online at CACTI’s official website in under 12 hours, CACTI has been selling out in thousands of stores since its nationwide launch on Monday, March 15.

Stores have reportedly experienced record-breaking sales of Travis Scott’s spiked seltzer, as it has quickly garnered some of the most impressive daily sales for a new alcoholic product and caused stores to already order restocks of the drink. According to a release, one grocery allegedly reports that CACTI has sold four times more in a single day than its leading hard seltzer competitor typically sells in the span of a week.

Considering that it has already dropped at more than 20,000 stores nationwide, CACTI’s launch has been one for the books. While much of CACTI’s early success can certainly be attributed to Travis Scott’s celebrity, it will be interesting to see how CACTI fares in the coming weeks and months. soon everyone who is interested will be able to give the Rodeo artist’s spiked agave seltzer a shot.

Have you tasted Travis Scott’s CACTI yet?

Candace Owens Threatens To Sue Cardi B

Following the television premiere of Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s multi-platinum single “WAP” at the Grammy Awards, right-wing conservatives, including Candace Owens, began to have a fit on social media. Accusing Cardi and Megan of “ruining American society” and “glorifying prostitution” among other things, conservatives clearly did not learn to enjoy “WAP” months after initially whining and complaining about the song.

Candace Owens and Cardi B have been going back and forth on Twitter as a result, bashing one another disrespectfully while thousands watched on. We’ve kept track of their online battle so far and after a day of war, it looks like “Candy” and Cardi might be headed to court.

After Candace tweeted about Cardi B “shoving [her] vagina into [Megan’s] vagina” while performing, the rapper reminded Owens about a rumor that was going around a few months ago that the political commentator’s husband had cheated on her with her own brother. Owens says the tweet, in which she allegedly admits to her husband’s infidelity, was edited and she’s willing to go to court for defamation.

“That is clearly a photoshopped tweet,” said Candace Owens. “Only one of us has a husband that sleeps around.” Candace went on to accuse Cardi of hiring a team to photoshop the tweet, despite it being passed around in viral fashion a few months ago. “This wasn’t photoshopped you was trending the whole day when you tweeted this and it was published on a lot of blog outlets,” said Cardi. “Your right mine sleeps around yours sleeps at yours sleep at your home with your brother C*CK BOXING while you tweet me.”

Candace was clearly offended by the fact that this tweet was mentioned, giving her one more chance to let it go before threatening to sue, but it looks like things may be headed in that direction regardless. “You want to admit you lied now, or get sued so I can expose you as a liar? I win either way,” said Candace. When a fan told her to just quit tweeting and file a lawsuit, she said she was ready to do so. “Yes. Just spoke with my family. I am 100% suing Cardi for that nonsense,” she said. “You can’t just start throwing out wild lies against private members of my family because you’re upset someone called your out on your degenerate performance.”

Cardi B says she’s going to counter-sue.

Deante Hitchcock Tackles Drake’s “What’s Next”

It’s the number one song in the United States, so it’s not entirely unsurprising that Deante Hitchcock has opted to tackle the Drake single. Enter the new chapter of Hitchcock’s Atlanta Tuesdays freestyle series, the simply-titled “What’s Next Freestyle.” Taking to Supah Mario’s synthesizer-driven beat, Hitchcock kicks back and fires off a casual — but still lyrically-driven– flow.

“Gotta watch out for this run I finna go on, n***as feel like they balling with Vick,” he raps. “Before we met I just met happy hour lil bitch, that just mean I was already lit / catching plays like that boy Larry Fitz / got the world in my hand, end this shit with the ball of a fist.” He proceeds to spit bars for two minutes straight, prompting fans to immediately queue up Better and revisit his acclaimed debut album. On that note, it seems as if this new batch of Atlanta Tuesdays suggests an imminent release from Hitchcock, so stay tuned to see what the final destination has in store.

What do you make of Deante Hitchcock’s take on “What’s Next?”

Yung Bleu Recalls Being “The Only One Really Poppin'” In Alabama

A rapper can be just starting out in the industry or riding high off of their success, and no matter where they land on the scale, there are going to be haters with something to say. The Rap world can be a fickle place, and Yung Bleu recalls getting his feet wet in the game and not receiving love from his homestate of Alabama. With a Drake collaboration under his belt and much more to come in the future, the locals are starting to come around, but Bleu remembers those days when he wasn’t embraced by his community.

“It used to be, but now I get nothin’ but love,” the rapper told VladTV. “I feel like it was back when I was the only one really poppin’, so all the attention was on me. All the people really wasn’t used to somebody ridin’ though in a Lambo from Rap, so it was a lot of hate. But once more artists start blowing up, it’s love, like we used to it.”

Bleu said that he doesn “fault” his past critics for coming down on him earlier on in his career before Vlad mentioned that late rapper Doe B., also from Alabama, was “really dope.” Bleu explained that when he was speaking about his experience of being an artist who helped bring attention to Alabama, he was speaking about a specific type of rapper.

“When you say, ‘puttin’ Alabama on the map,’ I’m talkin’ ’bout the streets,” said the rapper. “I’m not really talkin’ ’bout like, what I think of like, the streets, I’m talkin’ ’bout being able to go to any hood. We was doing shows in New York and stuff, sellin’ ’em out in 2017. So, people knew every song off my mixtape.”

“That’s really puttin’ it on the map to me. Maybe people think different, but to me—everybody got they own puttin’ something on the map.” Yung Bleu also stated that when he sat down for interviews in the past, reporters would note that he was “the only one from Alabama.” Vlad added that Gucci Mane is also from the state but Bleu interjected, “He don’t claim that.” Check out the clip below.
