Often, certain random tweets or social media messages will get grabbed by a blog, and soon, it’s gone viral. Most of the time it can be something about relationships, romances, workplaces, or anything that can get the general public talking and sharing their opinions, and such was the case with a controversial tweet from a woman whose identity was hidden by several outlets.
Hollywood Unlocked reposted the woman’s message that read, “My Daughter Does Not Come Before My Husband IDC [shrug emoji][one hundred emoji].” Soon, thousands of people jumped in their comments to disagree, but one stood out from the rest as Cardi B made her voice heard.
The mom of two-year-old Kulture Cephus wasn’t fond of the message and commented that parents like this end up not believing their children when allegations of abuse arise against their partners. “And these be the b***** that god forbit they daughters get molested by their ‘husband’ ‘boyfriend’ they won’t believe them their kids, take their words and will hate their daughters cause of the truth and the men be knowing that and take advantage.”

He was able to secure DaBaby’s feature for “SKAT,” a collaboration that is still trending, but Tory Lanez’s latest song has caused a bit of controversy. When it was first announced back in January, his fans weren’t sure if his union with DaBaby would hit streaming services. Megan Thee Stallion was known as DaBaby’s “work wife,” as they’d collaborated on several tracks together, so she seemed to suggest that there was no way that her friend’s song with Lanez would be cleared.
However, we recently received “SKAT” in all of its glory along with a music video, and the fallout happened in 4K on social media after Megan and DaBaby exchanged a few words.
What resulted in public life is that they no longer follow each other on social media, but we’ll never truly know what has occurred behind closed doors. While Lanez hasn’t directly addressed the controversy, he’s stirred one of his pots by sharing two enigmatic tweets that have left fans believing he’s addressing either Megan or DaBaby.
“Disloyalty is a Disconnect for me ……” he wrote in one tweet. He followed up with, “Why lie when u could have just told the truth.” Now, granted, this could be about, well, anything, but the internet doesn’t rest and they’ve speculated all sorts of scenarios. Megan and Lanez’s ongoing court battle continues, but these tweets have once again lit the fire of the internet.

We aren’t often confronted with news about Nivea being involved in social media spats, but Lil Keed’s baby mama believed it was time to put the singer on blast. Nivea is known for her 2000s R&B hits that have gone down as classics, but for those unfamiliar with her career, the 39-year-old is often referred to as “Lil Wayne and The-Dream’s baby mama.”
In recent weeks, the public has heard more from Nivea’s camp now that she stars on BET Presents The Encore, a show where the network is attempting to form a supergroup from notable talents. As people watch the likes of Aubrey O’Day (Danity Kane), Pamela Long (Total), Kiely Williams (3LW), Irish Grinstead (702), Shamari DeVoe (Blaque), and others, the drama was unfolding on Instagram as Quana Bandz called out Nivea.
Quana, Lil Keed’s baby mama, had some time on Tuesday (June 22) and she shared a few screenshots. One showed Nivea allegedly texting the rapper, “My God I need your p****,” and over the image, Quana added, “Not nivea [crying laughing emojis] girl what u gone do with Keed @thisisnivea.”
Quana also posted a photo of Nivea that looked as if she was with the rapper, but Quana didn’t seem to care. “Say it ain’t i b**** [crying laughing emoji] y’all just burnt.” In another slide, Quana added, “Then what make it so bad I be listening to the complicated song that’s why df im mad like wdf [crying laughing emojis].”

On the heels of news that the NFL was dealing with their own scandal, the NBA jumped in with one of their own—well, a small one. The Los Angeles Lakers may be out of the playoffs but they’re still making headlines. Hours ago, news began to circulate that Alex Caruso, a guard for the team, was arrested at the Easterwood Airport in College Station, Texas.
Because the airport is technically on Texas A&M University property, the school’s police were contacted by TSA agents.
According to KBTX News, agents believed they’d found drug paraphernalia in one of Caruso’s bags as he was catching a flight out. When police arrived, they allegedly located a grinder that still had marijuana residue inside so they arrested the 27-year-old NBA star. He was reportedly taken into custody “on charges of possession of marijuana, less than two ounces, and possession of drug paraphernalia.”
The Texas A&M alum was hit with a $4,200 bond which he quickly paid before being released. While cannabis laws have been lax in several cities within the U.S., the majority of the country still adheres to strict, anti-marijuana laws. While teasing the release of his rum brand, Michael B. Jordan wasn’t prepared for the backlash that followed. We previously reported on Jordan releasing J’Ouvert Rum, and it all seemed well and good until people accused him of cultural appropriation. Those with Trinidadian roots were particularly peeved, especially after it was discovered that the actor was attempting to trademark the word “J’Ouvert” without having a tie to its cultural significance.
On Tuesday (June 22) evening, Jordan returned to Instagram with an apology. “I just wanna say on behalf of myself & my partners, our intention was never to offend or hurt a culture(we love & respect) & hoped to celebrate & shine a positive light on,” Jordan wrote.
“Last few days has been a lot of listening,” he continued. “A lot of learning & engaging in countless community conversations… We hear you. I hear you & want to be clear that we are in the process of renaming. We sincerely apologize & look forward to introducing a brand we can all be proud of.”
Earlier in the day, Nicki Minaj weighed in on the controversy. “I’m sure MBJ didn’t intentionally do anything he thought Caribbean ppl would find offensive— but now that you are aware, change the name & continue to flourish & prosper,” she wrote in an Instagram caption. Check it out below.
