NFL Free Agent Richard Sherman Arrested In Seattle For Burglary Domestic Violence; Denied Bail

NFL free agent Richard Sherman was arrested this morning and booked at the Seattle Correctional Facility for “Burglary Domestic Violence,” according to public county records. ESPN insider Adam Schefter broke the story early this morning, which indicated that Sherman was booked at 6:08am local time. It was also reported that Sherman was denied bail, and that the charges are currently being investigated as a felony.

ESPN also reported that a spokesperson for the Redmond Police Department in Washington responded to calls of an adult male attempting to break into a home, but they weren’t able to immediately identify Sherman as the suspect. Authorities arrived to the scene to find Sherman outside the home, and he allegedly fought with police before he was arrested and booked for burglary domestic violence. More details are sure to come as the situation unfolds.

Sherman is one of the Vice Presidents on the Executive Committee for the league’s Players Association, which released a brief statement on Twitter following his arrest.

It’s safe to say that, given Sherman’s veteran leadership on the field and as a stalwart of positive team culture for both the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers, this news came as a shock to those in the NFL community. Check out some of the responses to his arrest below.

BIA Clarifies Her Ethnicity After Viral Tweet Says She’s “Not Black”

Rapper BIA is having her moment right now. The 29-year-old recording artist has been bubbling for a minute and last week, she scored her latest major hit record with the “WHOLE LOTTA MONEY” remix featuring the one-and-only Nicki Minaj. The special part about this remix is that Nicki didn’t phone in her verse — she gave it her all and innovated on the track, going back-and-forth with BIA and bringing a real mixtape vibe to the record.

As the remix continues to be BIA’s top-performing song at the moment, she’s been attracting more attention than usual. Touted as the next artist to blow in the hip-hop world, fans cracked down on her personal life and found some photos that don’t paint her in the best light. When a viral tweet suggested that she’s “not Black,” the rapper felt as though she needed to clear up the confusion with her ethnicity before continuing to elevate.

“Very aware of my roots guys,” she started, replying to the tweet. “My grandparents were born in PR and migrated to NY. Puerto Rican’s come in many different colors and race is different from ethnicity OF COURSE we have tiano, African, and Latin blood. Very proud to be Afrolatina and Italian.”

BIA is making it clear that, while her family comes from all over the world, she identifies as Afro-Latina and Italian.

Skiifall Snaps On “Feds Fraid We”

Montreal’s Skiifall has been one to look out for this year. The release of “Ting Tun Up” earned him global acclaim including a few spins on OVO Sound Radio and placement in Virgil Abloh’s Louis Vuitton x NBA campaign where he debuted an unreleased song from his forthcoming project. Each single he’s dropped has been just as good as the last and this summer, he’s keeping a steady stream of music.

This week, he returned with another banger titled, “Feds Fraid We.” Once again, he teams up with producer Yama Sato, as well as Joseph L’Etranger, who bring an atmospheric fusion of trap and dancehall that perfectly fits Skiifall’s ragga flow.

Cardi B Goes Off On “White Twinks” In Twitter Rant

Cardi B seemingly isn’t a big fan of stan culture in the gay community, calling out “white twinks” with a rant on Twitter this afternoon.

The rapper has been teasing a huge announcement this week, preparing her fans for the big news by hyping them up on social media. As the world waits to hear what Cardi has planned for us, the superstar recording artist took some time to insult “white twinks” on Twitter.

“White twinks on this app are weird,” she wrote. “You don’t dictate people’s action. I’m humble but now ya finna make a bitch brag ….Don’t ever write why Cardi ? Bitch ya favs ain’t selling like BARDI !”

In case you’re not in the know, the term “twink” is generally used in the LGBTQ+ community to describe a young, gay man with boyish looks.

“Now let’s be nice shall we ? Let’s experience greatness and gagging sessions in peace,” she continued, using more gay slang. “I said what I said and I’m not taking it back!!! Ya love to hide behind black female artist pictures on your avi and be the ones saying the most disrespectful shit about women & dictating their moves and start wars between female artist fans ALWAYS!”

Cardi B has earned some backlash for her comments, with some people saying her statement is homophobic. Considering the fact that the LGBTQ+ community is pretty behind Cardi, it’s upsetting to see her say these things about her fans online.

Polo G Describes A ‘Toxic’ Relationship In His Unapologetic New Video

Polo G has been on a roll in 2021, securing his first no. 1 album with his third full-length, Hall Of Fame, supported by single releases for “Rapstar,” “Gang Gang,” “No Return,” “Painting Pictures,” and “Party Lyfe.” Today, he kept the ball rolling — he must truly have a limitless budget for videos this album cycle — with the clip for “Toxic,” which describes a mutually destructive relationship plagued by his obsession with street life.

The video tends to highlight the latter part of that description, with Polo and his friends flexing cars, cash, jewelry, and their brotherly bond. CGI effects embellish the visuals, including slow-motion effects, lyrics flashing across the screen, and lightning bolts striking upon some of the more impactful lines.

In addition to his own tracks, Polo G has maintained his visibility throughout the year by appearing on a number of contemporaries’ tracklists. Most recently, he appeared on Fredo Bang’s video for “Bless His Soul,” on fellow Windy City rapper G Herbo’s upcoming album 25, and in Moneybagg Yo’s “Free Promo” video. Polo also sat down with Chicago legend Scottie Pippen to discuss the costs of greatness.

Chiiild Teams Up With Jensen McRae For A Remixed, Gorgeously Harmonized Version Of ‘Gone’

Genre-fluid Montreal soul outfit Chiiild, aka Yonatan Ayal, has teamed up with singer-songwriter Jensen McRae on an updated version of his song “Gone.” The result is a beautifully harmonized duet, with McRae’s smooth vocals complimenting Chiiild’s to create an expansive, even orchestral feel.

Of the collab, Chiiild said, “‘Gone’ featuring Jensen is a reminder that there are always two sides to every story.” McRae chimed in, noting, “I was so excited when I got connected with Chiiild for this collab. He has such a special, rich voice and his music exists at the nexus of multiple genres I love. As soon as I heard the first version of ‘Gone’ I had so many ideas — the themes of miscommunication and emotional distance are things that I think a lot of people can relate to but don’t want to admit it. It was such a thrill to hear it all come together. I don’t have any music by myself that sounds like this and I can’t wait for people to dive into it — it’s a perfect song for the summer.”

Speaking to Uproxx about his intentions as an artist, Chiiild said earlier this year, “I’m here to translate what has happened in the streets and try to immortalize it on record and say, ‘Hey you know what? Tomorrow’s going to be better.’”

Chiiild’s debut album, Hope For Sale, arrives 7/23.

Polo G Shares “Toxic” Music Video

Polo G might have one of the best rap releases of the year. The rapper’s official debut album dropped earlier this year and proved that he’s just as much of a star as everyone believed he would be. Hall Of Fame was an excellent debut from the Chicago native and he’s continuing to push the album’s campaign. This week, he returned with a new music video for the single, “Toxic.” Appropriate for a post-pandemic world, the rapper is back outside with his boys in his new music video.

Even with his album out, the rapper does have more music on the way. Funk Flex recently previewed a remix to King Von’s “Lurkin” which includes an additional verse from Polo G.

50 Cent Announces “BMF” Soundtrack & Disses Jeezy

Jeezy has deep connections to BMF so it makes sense that he would be involved in a musical soundtrack for the upcoming television series about the infamous drug family, but it appears as though 50 Cent is (playfully) trying to take him off the record.

Announcing that he has a brand new soundtrack coming soon as part of the BMF series launch, Fiddy told an interviewer at ThisIs50 that they could already expect music from 42 Dugg and Jeezy to be included on the official soundtrack to the show, but if he gets his way, the song would only be from Dugg.

“I got another record coming off of the BMF soundtrack. BMF will have a whole musical soundtrack,” he said. “There’s so many people connected– that story is connected culturally, BMF, so you’ll see more involvement from artists. I got 42 Dugg, he already sent something, him and Jeezy. I like it with [only] 42 Dugg though. You don’t really need Jeezy, you just need 42 Dugg. I’m just trying to convince him to take that n***a off the record. His shit is hard. The other shit, we can do without that shit.”

50 Cent and Jeezy don’t have the greatest relationship these days. Fiddy has dissed Jeezy on a few occasions, calling him a clout chaser and calling him out for allegedly ducking BMF. While his soundtrack omission is a joke on 50’s part, it’s veiled with the truth.

Are you excited about the upcoming BMF soundtrack?

Lebron James’ Wife Savannah Stuns On Red Carpet Of “Space Jam 2” Movie Premiere

Lebron James and his high school sweetheart, Savannah, posed for a jaw-dropping couples pic before heading out to the premiere of Lebron’s new movie, Space Jam: A New Legacy with their seven-year-old daughter Zhuri, the other night.

Lebron also shared a photo from the film’s red carpet premiere, and added his commentary to it, saying, “About last night! It was a ABSOLUTE SURREAL feeling doing a WORLD premiere of @spacejammovie in which I’m the lead role! Beyond Craziness. I literally would have dreams about being in Space Jam with the Looney Tunes when I was a kid growing up. Can’t believe this, I just can’t! To my amazing director & cast you guys killed it!!!!”

Nonetheless it was Savannah’s post that caught the general public’s attention, simply because her Instagram is mostly comprised of images of the kids she shares with Lebron; Bronny, Bryce, and Zhuri. Aside from pictures posing with family, Savannah usually stays far away from curating a feed that’s full of selfies and outfit posts. On Tuesday, however, the mom of three switched things up by sharing her full glam look alongside her husband.

Savannah wore a neon green body-hugging dress that would make anyone stop and stare. The simple solid color gown showed off all her curves and was paired with matching green heels. Relaxed makeup and hair only accentuated her natural beauty as she posed beside Lebron in his navy suit.

Social media was pretty shocked to see Savannah all done up, and fans flood to her comments to hype her up. One fan commented “that green on her melanin skin” with a line of heart eyes emojis.Another praised her lowkey-profile, especially considering she is the wife of an NBA star stating, “Loook at what minding your business and living life does.”

Celebrities and basketball wives alike were also stunned by Savannah’s pop-out. Nina Westbrook commented, “Come thru!!!!” and Adrienne Bosh, commented, “Gorgeous. Glowing soo good seeing you both!!! Congratulations on all continued success” with enthusiastic emojis. Meanwhile, Cyn Santana, Fabolous’ wife Emily B., Ludacris’ wife Eudoxie, and more, all showered her in compliments.
